A German cardinal in the Catholic Church remarked that Pope Benedict would never have approved Pope Francis' recent edict allowing priests to bless people in same-sex relationships. Cardinal Gerhard Mueller made the comment to Reuters while attending an event marking the one-year anniversary of Pope Benedict's death on Sunday. "It never would have happened [under Benedict] because it was so ambiguous," Mueller told the outlet of Francis' decision.

It would never have happened under any pope. It took the College of Cardinals electing a secular Marxist who has no regard for the inspired Word of God.

Indeed, #1. While I am not of the Catholic faith (confirmed in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, I have plenty of Catholics elsewhere in my family) Pope John Paul despite his very short 33-day tenure as Pope, must be rolling in his grave. He was the real deal.

This commie "pope" has already packed the college of cardinals - - so don't expect anything different from his successor. It probably will be an African commie.

Why Biden’s support among Hispanics
is tanking — here’s a hint: the border crisis

“Crime Keeps On Falling, but Prisons Keep On Filling” has made people laugh since the infamous New York Times headline appeared in 1997. To this it may soon add “Biden Has Thrown Open the Borders, Yet Hispanic Voters Are Dumping Him.” Getting a cause-and-effect relationship exactly backward is known as a “Fox Butterfield headline,” after the Times reporter who wrote the article. Crime falls because criminals are behind bars. Duh. Only Times writers would be puzzled by that. Now some commentators are perplexed that Hispanic support for President Biden is falling like piñata candy at a 5-year-old’s party.

President Biden was slammed by critics for his comments about doing "something" at America’s southern border, which is facing unprecedented levels of illegal immigrant crossings. Sources with Customs and Border Protection told Fox News Digital that migrant encounters hit a staggering 300,000 incidents in December 2023, reaching a level thought unimaginable just years ago. It is the highest total for a single month ever recorded and also the first time migrant encounters have exceeded 300,000.

After weeks of speculation about whether Harvard University's president, Claudine Gay, would be forced to resign amid a plagiarism and antisemitism scandal, Gay announced that she was stepping down. In her resignation letter, Gay spoke of "personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus," and made no mention of her failure to properly address antisemitism or the never-ending allegations of plagiarism against her rather limited record of scholarship. Gay, who exploited race to reach the pinnacle of Harvard, chose to blame racism on her way out the door.

Destroying democracy to save it: Maine
shows the danger of zealots in our legal system

“You had me at hello.” That line from the movie “Jerry Maguire” came to mind this week after yet another Democratic secretary of state moved to prevent citizens from voting for former president Donald Trump. Maine’s Shenna Bellows issued a “decision” that declared Trump an “insurrectionist” and ineligible to be president. She joined an ignoble list of Democratic officials in states such as Colorado who claim to safeguard democracy by denying its exercise to millions of Americans. Yet the most striking aspect of this poorly crafted decision was not its litany of conclusory findings, but rather Bellow’s implausible suggestion that she struggled over the decision.

For Republicans, it could be a very happy new year indeed. The 2024 elections hold the potential for a trifecta: winning unified control of the federal government, including all its elected branches, for the first time in eight years. “Could” is the operative word, however. Republicans have an opportunity, but they must capitalize on it to bring their electoral dreams to fruition. The fact that it takes more than good poll numbers and flawed opponents to win in a polarized political climate can itself be summed up in one of the most futile phrases of the past few years: the “red wave.” Just two years ago, Republicans looked to have a chance

A never-ending massacre of Christians being "killed for sport" is reportedly happening in Nigeria, yet the world appears to be largely deaf to the matter. While much of the world this week has been celebrating a beginning – Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ – in Nigeria they are mourning the end of life – the deaths of more than 100 Christians – as the world remains virtually silent. Armed bandits ran amok, according to Amnesty International, in some 20 communities across central Nigeria, killing more than 140. In a country where accurate statistics are traditionally hard to come by, some sources have put the death toll closer to 200.

At the end of the year, we are on the razor's edge of many things that soon may blow up. Americans are far beyond President Joe Biden's serial untruths of some eight years that he never discussed Hunter Biden's various get-rich-quick schemes. All were predicated on the perception of foreign interests purchasing from the Biden family the influence of then-senator, vice president, and possibly soon-to-be President Joe Biden. The Bidens now risk exposure to criminal charges of multimillion-dollar tax fraud, perjury, influence selling, and bribery as congressional committees and a special prosecutor unravel years of tangled-up quid pro quos.

A Maine Republican state lawmaker wants to impeach the Maine secretary of state who removed former President Donald Trump from the primary ballot. GOP state Rep. John Andrews said he wants to pursue impeachment against Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows after she disqualified Trump from the 2024 Republican primary ballot on Thursday. In her ruling, Bellows cited Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which bans from office those who "engaged in insurrection." Andrews said in a statement that he filed a request with the Maine Revisor's Office saying he wanted "to file a Joint Order, or whichever is the proper parliamentary mechanism under Mason's Rules

In 1898, the United States government acquired Puerto Rico through the Treaty of Paris, which ended the Spanish-American War. This was only one year after Spain had granted the island the power to self-govern. But after Spain lost the war, they ceded control of Puerto Rico. At the time, Puerto Rico's population was just under 1 million. Most were living in poverty. It wasn't uncommon for families to spend the majority of their income on food. Many people worked for only cents per day harvesting sugarcane. Others owned farms or worked inland on coffee and tobacco fields. "Imagine that about 90% of your income is spent on food, and you're still malnourished.

Pennsylvania holds crucial importance for Biden's reelection bid. He notably hailed Philadelphia campaign donors as the "backbone" of his presidential campaign earlier this year. As of Dec. 18, 35,589 Democrats reregistered as Republicans in the state so far this year; in contrast, 15,622 Republicans switched to the Democratic Party, data from the state department shows. The state trend was first reported Tuesday by Newsweek.

President Biden needs a big boost to win in 2024; the economy won’t be it. Despite the stock market’s recent euphoria over coming Federal Reserve rate cuts, this will not have the political impact many may imagine. Even if these cuts come, there simply will not be time to undo the damage that Biden has already incurred with America’s economy. Biden is in deep political trouble. He is in trouble generally, as the Real Clear Politics national polling averages show. His job approval is just 40.5 percent (versus 55.9 percent disapproval), he trails Trump 44.5 percent to 46.8 percent in head-to-head polls and his favorability is lowest of all

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just stunned viewers on national television by admitting that she thinks states should decide who’s allowed to run for president of the United States. This would give states like California the ability to drop former President Trump from the ballot if she got her way. Many feel her actions aren’t about protecting “democracy” but about pure, unadulterated power. Pelosi told CNN’s Dana Bash on Thursday that although “martyr” Donald Trump could be the beneficiary from the “raw politics” of being removed from state presidential ballots, it’s the “kitchen table issues” that are important to American voters.

They think that everyone should bend the knee to them and accede to all their demands however unworkable or bad those demands might be. If they scream loud enough, they think they can succeed by bullying people. We've seen things from the crazy or concerning to the dangerous. But I have to say, this new video I just saw is pretty funny. Think anti-Israel Karen, and then you get where this video is going.

She has since walked back her response, saying 'of course' the war was about slavery and suggested that the question was poised by a Democrat 'plant' trying to get the media to attack her.

Redden’s attorney had asked Holthus to grant parole for the three-time felon, but she sentenced him to jail due to his violent past and repeated arrests.
