Well, we’re finally here. Is this the future that you envisioned?
Nearly 100 years ago, a group of visionaries dared to imagine what life would be like in 2024. Some of their prophecies fell woefully short while others proved to be strangely accurate.
Join us now as we gaze into that crystal ball from 1924. [SNIP] Arthur Dean, whose parental advice column appeared in newspapers across the country, expressed concerns about American dietary habits.
“I sometimes wonder what our stomachs will look like and be like 100 years from now,” he wrote. “Will we have any teeth at all? Will there be any color on our face except paint?"

Will we have a lying, corrupt, dementia-addled President in '24?

I think in 2124 earth people will all be genderless, colorless, brainless, non-religious, borderless, raceless identical worldwide "units" working feverishly together to accomplish the OneWorld goal of "saving" the planet.

American indians ate up all the horses here before the white man showed up and brought some with him.

I predict that in 2124, Al Gore's great great grandson will predict that the world will end in 15 years if we don't stop global warming.

In 2124 The CDC/WHO will remind every one to take their mandatory daily shot against Covid, the only ones exempt are those in isolation because they have Covid.

One chemist figured out that we'd have nuclear missiles capable of destroying any city, anywhere. But, I think the one most accurate prediction was this one:
"U.S. Sen. William E. Borah, a Republican from Idaho, blamed “extravagance in government” for oppressive taxes on Americans.
“Unless the people see the need of simplifying government, we shall be unable to meet the problem and in 100 years from now we shall be in no better condition than the nations that have perished in the past,” he said."
And the bug scientist, a Dr. Howard, was concerned about something to stop population growth. He said "Births will have to be limited in some manner for the earth cannot supply food for an excess population.” He and Sanger and now Bill Gates and the WEF depopulationists would be good friends. And we are feeding the world's billions without problems....until the WEF folks and the Green Crazies get more traction in their efforts to destroy modern agriculture. Stalin proved that eliminating food was the surest way to wipe out large numbers of people, and the WEF and Green Crazies are going on his model. But he didn't predict that the EcoCrazies would want us to eat bugs instead of beef or pork.

They all seemed to gage the 2024 by looking at current events. But there were some interesting ones, like this, "We will have a woman president, woman politicians and police,” Ferraro wrote." Hey, if Michelle Obama steps in at the DNC convention there's a chance we'll have a woman president, even if it's identifying as female.

Some hits and some wide misses with many things remaining predictably the same, such as Hollywood having a very inflated opinion of itself and its products.

As #7 mentioned, the prediction from Senator Borah (a Republican no less) was the most accurate. The others were, at least, entertaining.

I will concede that the "Horse" prediction was prescient...my Families business at that time was collecting train loads of horses from the south and west, bringing them to NY State and training/selling them...draft horses for cartage, construction, road/canal building, interurban and urban transit lines, fire companies, personal buggies, carriages, sleighs, as well as individual riders and racers. The Infernal combustion engine made such careers extinct. The horses them selves were saved from extinction by becoming "Pleasure Pets" for the wealthy for the most part, only the "cowboy west" still employs horses in their prior professions. The family business transitioned to selling dairy cows..and herds...on credit... 1/3 of the herd buyers Milk Check came straight back to the seller. Often the "Farmer" added his Farm Mortgage to the same deal. Govt regulation, administration and "Oversight" eventually put such businesses and such small farmers out of business though. Dairy is now all genetically engineered, industrialized, mechanized, computerized, and even robotically maintained Mega Corp affairs. "Go BIG or go Broke". I found online two cases where my gr-Grandfather had to fight in the NY Supreme court, one to evict squatters who sold the herd they had purchased without paying it off, the other where the "New" State Industrial Board was insisting he pay the "employee" insurance premiums for a timber company that had contracted to clear some forest lands... a three months completion based contract, paid on a board feet basis, to be accomplished as the contractor saw fit. Timber workers insurance premiums were 3.57% of earnings, while his regular/year round farm workers was only o.67% because the work was more dangerous. They wanted to collect MORE for those 6 workers/3 months, though there were no injuries or claims, than he paid for his 28 employees for an entire year. Even then the State Industrial Board was claiming that ANYONE paid by anyone, no matter how short the time, nor independent the action, was an "Employee" and the State had to get it's share. Fascist Govt control over what had always been independent private affairs.
