Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) is working on legislation ostensibly intended to prevent mass shootings like the one that happened in Maine on October 27. The tragic incident took place when Robert Card, a member of the Armed Forces, went on a spree in various locations, killing 18 people. He was later found dead after a manhunt.
It was later revealed that Card had a history of mental illness and had even threatened violence against his fellow servicemembers at a military base. Yet, he was still able to legally purchase a firearm despite Maine’s yellow flag law, which allows for the temporary seizure of firearms from those deemed to be a risk

The military already treats its troops like criminals in this regard. No more communist legislation is needed.
One more reason not to join, or vote for a rino.

Authorities knew that Robert Card was insane, was a trained rifleman, and that he had threatened to shoot people. There are plenty of laws to deal with violent crazy people, requiring highly trained SWAT teams. What we read last weekend was that Maine authorities didn't deal with Card because they were afraid; they were cowards. And now a lot of people are dead for no reason. Sen. Collins, instead of calling for real men, hard men, to deal with real danger, falls back on brainless, illegal gun control measures which eliminate constitutional rights but don't stop crime. Collins is a RINO with all the wrong instincts. It would be nice if a real Republican could occupy that seat.

We can’t get rid of her. She tries to play both sides and in this case she should stop trying to make her look good. This killer was sick and slipped through the mental situation with not good follow up. So she thinks she has a solution. I’m so sick of her but Maine is mostly dems and I think she is one.

Collins is nothing more than a RINO tool. Every once in a while these RINO tools feel compelled to create legislation that shows the left where their true sympathies lie. Maybe she's trying to secure a job as a trustee at the gulags the democrats are planning for MAGA supporters.

Try taking a weapon on to a federal military installation under existing laws, and see what it gets you. In short, story is about imaginary solutions to imaginary problems in furtherance of Leftist catechism. The days of fixing actual problems with actual solutions ended with the death of the Age of Reason.

When existing laws are not enforced,. a wise person does not pile even more laws that are punitive to a specific class of citizen expecting that they will be enforced, except for one reason, and that is because said legislator actually bears animus toward members of that specific class, i.e. the military.
It's high time that Mainers "retire" Susan Collins from the "elected elites."

Wash, rinse, repeat.
How many more insane shooters and deaths will it take for the existing gun laws to finally be enforced? When people report potential dangers with nut cases owning or with access to guns, authorities in government who can take preventive steps typically sit on their thumbs and ignore the whistleblowers. People like the RINO Maine senator just want more laws that take guns away from sane, law abiding citizens. It's how RINO's and democrats think.

When stupid old politicians like Collins continue to spout their nonsense year after year, the tendency is to wish they would just die and free us from their stupidity. The only problem is that younger, dumber ones quickly take their places. Hillary, Kerry, Biden, Schiff, Raskin, Reed, Sanders, Menendez were all there to quickly fill the gaps once occupied by McCain, Byrd, Feinstein, Specter, Murtha, etc. There seems to be an endless supply of incompetent politicians waiting in the wings to continue their "tradition."

Is it something in the air or water in the Northeast that causes the voters to select politicians like Collins, Crazy Eyes Cortez, the Neanderthal Fetterman, and pure evil Schumer?

Olympia Snowe was succeeded by Angus King. He’s much worse. The point is, in Maine, we cannot expect anyone better than Collins. My sense, Collins’ gun control bill is DOA, and a distraction. What really matters is the dangerous wide open border.

It seems that Robert Card, an obviously potentially violent “nut job” was not on active duty with the U.S. Military at the time leading up to his shooting crimes, but he was a military reservist who was out there on the street like any other “just plain Joe” American “nut job”. If so the U.S. Military would not have had jurisdiction over his private home or private firearms, that were actually within the jurisdiction of Maine authorities.

They had that law in Maine and it wasn't enforced. Why is she working on this instead of demanding that our borders with Mexico and Canada get closed?

Collins is a member of the UBB Club - Unconvincing Brown Bob Club.
Along with other deathly-pale old boilers like Lois Lerner, Ruth Marcus et al, Collins thinks the hair style is youthful and flattering and the chestnut-brown-from-a-bottle color is convincing.
The lazy vanity is a tipoff to the thinking underneath the bob - vapid, reactionary, cliched and sinister in its sinister simplemindedness.

Connect dots, critically think a few steps forward and what does one get? A "conspiracy theory".
So many "conspiracy theories" of late have proven dead on accurate or very much in the ball park, we are in danger of running low on "conspiracy theories". So, here's one to replenish the waning stock...
Further clamping down of firearms access (civilian and/or military) is pure and simple: another step towards defacto disarmament. But not of criminals. Not of crazy people. Nope. Of normal, patriotic Americans who have peacefully observed our nation descending into chaos and unrestrained criminality.
And it is the Criminal Class in charge of things (formerly pretending to work in our best interests) that is neither "stupid" nor "weak".
Here are some dots, connect them:
wide open border...total flouting of duty to protect American's and our sovereignty
_millions_ of military age males crashing the border and then being flown to the city of their choice
, the idea being floated that these illegals can become citizens if they agree to serve in our military,
constant effort to restrict firearms, make them more costly, reduce availability/affordability of ammo.
.... what might this add up to?
How about military units, fully equipped and fielded while devoid of any true allegiance to our Constitution?
Units comprised of and led by people who will follow orders to fire on born-here and naturalized Americans?
How about loyal military who take their oath seriously, to defend against enemies both foreign AND _domestic_ locked on base with no access to their own weapons?
Susan Collins may be "weak", "stupid", "misled".
Or she might be one of the many traitors who now are in control of power and looking to increase and consolidate that power. The "Constitution" be damned.
