Raucous crowds flood Chicago City Council,
shut down meeting over sanctuary city issue

Chicago - A special City Council meeting to discuss Chicago's sanctuary city status descended into chaos Tuesday. The meeting was suspended amid a large contingent of loud and angry demonstrators that had taken over the gallery in the City Council chambers, expressing their displeasure over Chicago's status as a sanctuary city. Some protestors were kicked out of the rules committee meeting, which had to be shut down because nobody could hear what anybody was saying. Last week, there was an attempt to take a vote on an ordinance that would create a referendum on next spring's ballot, allowing the public to decide whether Chicago should continue its status as a sanctuary city.

Oh, create a referendum on next spring's ballot.... to be ignored if the Powers Behind the Green Curtain don't like the outcome. Just wondering.... How did Chit-Congo decide to BECOME a 'Sanctuary City' in the first place? Did the people vote on it, or did it just 'happen' at some City Council meeting where it was introduced and voted on while no-one was paying attention?

Chicago voters have never had a say in with we should be a "sanctuary city". I had assumed it began with Richie or maybe Rahm but I was wrong. According to the Tribune, Chicago's troubles can be traced back to an obscure church group, then more churches got in on the action, Harold Washington signed an executive order halting cooperation with the Feds and with each passing decade the situation has become worse. Here's the Chicago Tribune's explanation: https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-chicago-sanctuary-history-htmlstory.html

Illegal alien invaders need to be rounded up by the millions and shipped by rail to Socialist Sancturies. Turn Chicago into Mexico City. Maybe that will be competition for the #BurnLootMurder thug crowd.

Chicago voters, don't focus on a vote to end sanctuary city status, focus on a vote to kick out the fools who declared Chicago a sanctuary city without a vote.

A furious row has broken out after Metropolitan Police officers were filmed pulling down posters of Israeli children kidnapped by Hamas during the terror group's barbaric October 7 attack. Two officers stripped the outside of Cullimore Chemist in Edgware, North London of flyers of the missing innocents after receiving calls from residents concerned about tension within the community. Some locals in the area, which is home to a sizeable Jewish community, have slammed the officers over their 'disgusting actions'. But the Met has insisted they were merely taking steps to 'stop issues escalating' and to 'avoid community tension'.

An Illinois state appeals court has ruled that Illinoisans can be fired from their jobs for refusing to get a Covid vaccine, because a state right of conscience law that otherwise protects people for refusing to participate in morally objectionable medical procedures doesn’t apply to anything related to Covid after Illinois Democrats specifically rewrote the law to ensure its protections didn’t apply to Covid vaccine mandates. When COVID-19 struck in 2020, the government quickly put together massive aid programs to help struggling businesses, along with the people who lost their jobs. But other kinds of enterprises with names like the Traveling Vice Lords and the Wild 100s — criminal street gangs in Chicago and across the country — soon figured out how to take advantage of that safety net. They defrauded those programs of millions of dollars that they used to buy guns and drugs, according to the U.S. Justice Department and court records. When Illinois lawmakers brag about having a “welcoming state,” they might want to talk to parents like Susie Redfern. In 2019, the Chicago Tribune profiled her and her son Nick as symptomatic of a dysfunctional system failing to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. But rather than fixing that crisis, the Illinois Legislature created a new one, establishing health care programs for illegal immigrants that have exploded in costs, even as some of the state’s most vulnerable citizens lack access to needed care. It’s a particularly cruel example of the misplaced priorities of the radical left.
