Alaska State Troopers don't mess around. Alaska is a different kind of place in many ways, not the least of which is law enforcement. In our Susitna Valley home, there is no local law enforcement. Some of the towns (Wasilla, Palmer) have municipal police departments, but out in the Borough, where we live, the only law enforcement are the Alaska State Troopers, who may require 30-45 minutes to respond to our location. Fortunately, most Alaskans are capable of handling things on their own; our per-capita gun ownership is among the highest in the nation (in the Valley, even the hippies have guns),

An alleged robber was shot and killed during an exchange of gunfire Saturday night with an employee at Philadelphia’s George’s Famous Pizzeria.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that two alleged robbers entered the pizzeria around 8 p.m. “wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks.”
One of the alleged robbers was armed with a handgun and fired a round while trying to get behind the counter. One of the pizzeria employees then opened fire on the suspect, shooting the alleged robber multiple times.
The alleged robber was pronounced dead approximately 30 minutes after entering the pizzeria.
6 ABC noted that “the second suspect fled from the pizza shop on foot.”

A Palestinian man in the US illegally was arrested in Houston for a firearms violation. Sohaib Abuayyash, 20, was in the United States on a non-immigrant visa that expired in 2019, which prohibited him from owning a firearm, Click 2 Houston reported.
Sohaib Abuayyash was allegedly planning to attack Jews in Houston before his arrest. He had studied bomb-making and had affirming statements online about killing Jews.
Abuayyash had also been taking a detailed look online at radical groups that condone violence which included bomb-making.
