President Joe Biden said he still considers Chinese leader Xi Jinping a 'dictator' even as he said US-China relations were back on track with new military-to-military channels to prevent accidents between the two superpowers.
He also said he gave Xi a blunt warning Wednesday not to interfere in Taiwan's January elections.
He made the 'dictator' comment in response to a reporter's question, on a day he met at length with his counterpart for the first time in a year and strolled the elegant grounds of a California estate.

Last week, over at “Just the News,” the headline blared: “Trump leads Biden in 5 battleground states in New York Times poll.”
Other than a feelgood rush, so what? The official date for the ‘24 elections is November 5, though Election Day has become a nugget surrounded by gobs of ballot-stuffing and electronic hijinks. November 5 is now less than a year hence. Whatever the polls report today won’t necessarily reflect outcomes then, even if they’re honestly tallied.
Let’s venture that next year’s elections are held (yes, you read that right). The results, either way, will inevitably be disputed -- and not civilly, not if Democrats manage to lose. Between Trump derangement

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said the impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden has advanced to a stage in which witnesses should be placed under oath.
The speaker released a statement on Wednesday that said he had just received an update from Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY), who is leading the endeavor, and the two others tasked with assisting him: Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO).“At this stage, our impeachment inquiry has already shown the corrupt conduct of the president’s family and that he and White House officials have repeatedly lied about his knowledge and involvement in his family’s business activities,”

Protestors clashed with police outside of the Democratic National headquarters as pro-Palestine groups flooded the front facility and violence erupted.
Officers have already made several arrests after 150 activists surged towards the Washington, DC, building on Wednesday night.
Protesters gathered to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Gaza conflict, but the gathering quickly turned into chaos. Shocking footage from the scene shows police attempting to drag protesters away from the entrance to the DNC building as they chant 'let Gaza live.'

About 300 million people in the United States would be put at risk of death from exposure to radioactive fallout in the four days following a nuclear attack, according to a new report that models the possible effects of such a grim event.
If the US is attacked with nuclear weapons, an adversary would most likely concentrate all fire on the country's intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch facilities.
Any retaliatory attack from the US would come from these silos, located in Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wyoming - and taking them out would be an enemy's first priority.

A new Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday showed President Biden's approval rating sinking and support for former President Donald Trump rising as the 2024 election looms.
According to the poll, American voters' worsening views of Biden were driven by his handling of the war between Israel and Hamas, which has also given Trump his first lead in the poll since February.
Just 37% of voters said they approved of Biden's job performance, with 59% disapproving. The same number (37%) also said they viewed Biden favorably versus unfavorably (59%).

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan today said Israel was a 'terror state' committing war crimes and violating international law in Gaza, while repeating his view that Hamas gunmen are not terrorists but a 'political party elected by Palestinians'.
In a fiery speech to members of his party, Erdogan said Turkey would work to ensure that Israel's political and military leaders are recognised as 'terrorists' and brought to trial in international courts.
A ranting Erdogan said Israel was a 'terrorists state' intent on destroying Gaza along with the thousands of people who live in the besieged territory.

President Trump’s lawyers went on offense on Wednesday and asked a judge to grant a mistrial in the civil fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Trump’s lawyers argued that the fraud case was tainted by bias.
Radical Marxist New York Attorney General Letitia James is seeking $250 million in ‘damages’ when there is no victim in this fraud case and she is also seeking to ban Trump and his sons from operating any businesses in New York.
Far-left Judge Arthur Engoron has displayed bizarre behavior in the court by smiling for the cameras. He has also shown clear bias against Trump

NBC’s Today had an update Wednesday on inflation following Tuesday’s release of last month’s inflation numbers with prices rising 3.2 percent, but NBC liberals wanted us to “bask in the good news for a minute” with prices falling in all sorts of sectors before conceding “grocery prices are too high” and the public “doesn't feel” the way they’re supposed to (as in positively) about the country’s economic outlook.
“With the holiday season upon us, a lot of Americans are thinking about their money. How far will their money go? Well, the latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showing that, overall, prices have not changed much the last few months,

Two days after her attempt to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas failed, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene told the Homeland Security secretary he’s not out of danger yet and will soon face another vote.
The Georgia Republican went straight at the secretary during a Homeland Security Committee hearing on Tuesday, confronting him with a photo of two of her constituents who were killed at the border by a juvenile migrant smuggler who smashed his vehicle head-on into theirs.
“I want you to look at these innocent Americans. Do you see them?” she demanded.
