A case of malaria has been confirmed in Arkansas and is the first locally acquired case in the state in at least 40 years.
The patient, who was not named, lives in Saline County and had not recently traveled out of the country.
The case makes Arkansas the fourth state to report a locally acquired case of the disease this year, in another sign the disease may be gaining a foothold in the US for the first time in two decades. The patient was also the tenth to be infected on US soil this year, after seven locally-acquired infections were detected in Florida and one each in Texas and Maryland —
Gosh I wonder where that came from. Also local news out of Olathe, KS reports hundreds of HS students have been exposed to tuberculosis. Thanks F’in Joe Biden.

There is treatment for malaria. I think it was Walter Reed who discovered this maybe a hundred years ago. (I read a lot in high school,) There is also treatment for TB but it will depend on which type they have. We've had live TB coming in for a long time but the local medical community kept tabs on these people and made sure they were taking their meds. But this was 25 years ago when I worked at a health unit. No telling how it's being handled now.

TB, Malaria, Measels, next up? Polio...then Plague.
It wasn't long ago they had a LOT of people scared, convinced that THEY were at serious risk of Monkey Pox.
Including my 92yo father, a retired physician....when I explained to him just WHO was getting it, where they were getting it an HOW they were getting it...He finally stopped watching CNN.

Emergence of malaria, what a surprise (not). I believe "Gates of Hell" has a patent on a new malaria treatment as well as funding the development of sterile male mosquitos for release in the Everglades. Supposed to stop mosquito borne illnesses (which only seem to result from infected travelers from foreign parts).

It is ironic #3 that the treatment for Malaria is Quinine sulfate (Qualaquin) with doxycycline (Oracea, Vibramycin, others) all related to Hydroxichloroquine. I wonder if the government will ALLOW doctors to treat infected people with any quinine drug?

It USED to be common, not only in Washington DC, but also in NYC.

The first treatment for malaria ever found was cinchona bark near the Peru/Ecuador border. It was discovered somehow in the highlands and was taken to Rome and passed out to pilgrims. It works. It was the only thing that did work. From it quinine was extracted as being easier I guess than ground up bark to pass around. also extracts went into tonic water. and in sometime in WWI or WWII, all the cinchona plantations had somehow ended up in the hands of the Axis so the Allies worked on a lab version and came up with hydroxychloroquine, yes, that very same HCQ. But HCQ gives you nightmares and cinchona bark does not, plus it has several compounds that defeat malaria of which quinine is just one. you can buy cinchona bark powder on amazon. as for how much to use i am not a doctor. i did use to to get over covid. worked.

Yet some people still claim that illegal alien immigrants give us nothing in return.

There will be more diseases all cause be illegals entering our country unchecked and never screened. Thanks Joe Biden for caring more for illegals than legal Americans.
