Fox News will exclusively host and televise the upcoming debate for the House speakership, now that the gavel is up for grabs after Representative Kevin McCarthy was ousted in a historic Tuesday vote.
Bret Baier will moderate the debate between House Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana, Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan of Ohio, and Representative Kevin Hern of Oklahoma on Monday in the Capitol, Punchbowl News first reported. The debate will not be open press, the publication said, which means reporters other than Baier will be barred from the room.
Fox is still determining whether the debate will be live or pre-taped.

Too much politics for the consumer to stomach?
There’s so much, much of it involving the Dim’s mad urge to destroy civilization. Must those who seek to preserve civilization fight to the death among themselves?

Debates are worthless. I think the format Tucker Carlson used in July's Iowa GOP presidential forum, with individual interviews on the same stage, is much more informative and effective.

Why is there a debate? The people don't get to vote on this.

Bret Baier, as well as many other “hosts” or commentators, even on Newsmax, seem to be increasingly full of themselves. They often speak as though they are schooling or correcting their guests. Even Mark Levin is falling into this pattern. This is quite wearing on the nervous system.

Worst idea ever. What good will come of it?
What they will do is highlight an agenda that they will be giving the Democrats advance notice of so they can plot and plan against it.

They should all just say NO. They don't need to do this. Fox and the Murdochs just want to embarrass the Republicans!

A debate for Speaker? Since when do we have debates, moderated by corrupt media clowns, for Speaker of the House? Something about this entire episode, the ousting of McCarthy, the hunt for a new Speaker and now this so-called debate, with FOX doing the "debate", Paul Ryan sitting on the board and Baier a Trump hater, something just isn't sitting right with me. I feel like we are really all being played for some reason.

Why?? Can't the Republicans ever do anything calmly? Just handle the choosing of the speaker without getting anyone from the press involved. Bret Baier is not going to their friend. These 3 must be extremely naive to think that there aren't some large pitfalls to this idea.

Baier is the worst choice for this. The may as well invite Juan Williams or Leslie Marshal, two known leftists to moderate.
Baier is overrated and biased.

Cancel this. The next speaker will be Jordon. This is just the Murdoch's tiring to be divisive. No one should attend if they continue

No, this is just Fox trying to make another buck from nothing. Just like the Presidential debates this time around, which are much ado about nothing.

I heard the idea was scuttled. Just as well - we don't need questions about how global warming is affecting LGBTQIA++ immigrants.

#8, Mark Levin has become dead to me.
He was against Trump before he was for him.
I’ve decided he found something (conservatism) to talk about and make an excellent living doing it. He probably has lots of good principles, but at this point, he’s full of sound and fury.

I was very glad to see McCarthy ousted from speakership. Now Brett Baier needs ousted from FOX. (Not that I even watch FOX anymore.)

Won’t the audience be just the Republicans in the House, #7? And, #12, you do know that Paul Ryan was in the same boat as McCarty a few years back and was totally backed by Gaetz ? Just saw a clip of that a day or two ago. There are no friends in Washington DC.
