The special counsel investigating former President Donald Trump's handling of classified documents has taken new steps to examine possible efforts to obstruct the probe, threatening potential charges against a Trump Organization employee who is suspected of lying to investigators, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News. Special counsel Jack Smith in recent weeks transmitted a target letter to the staffer indicating that he might have perjured himself during a May appearance before the federal grand jury hearing evidence in the classified documents probe, the sources told ABC News.CORRECTION*

Never lie on the stand.
"I think it was this way, but I'm not absolutely sure, it's been quite a while. " is always a safe answer.

Since there is no actual crime in all of this their only hope to get Trump is to find some small detail they got wrong while under oath.

More "Process Crimes" the DOJ simply loves to pull out in order to pile on the "seriousness" of charges. It's truly high time for the DOJ top floor to be hauled before House Committees to testify as to their allegiance to the Constitution. There's some truly serious corruption there going back to Obama's corrupt administration. Also, leave it to the Operation Mockingbird affiliated ABC to parrot the talking points off the FAX'd memo from the DOJ this morning.

Why anyone, anyone involved in the Trump Organization or the Trump administration are not answering any question by these inquisitors with "Upon advice of counsel, I decline to answer this question under my fifth amendment rights."
Over and over again.
These Lawfare persecutors aren't after justice. They're looking to use process crimes or minor charges to manufacture evidence, bankrupt supporters, and marginalize and remove their political opponents. Why give them any possible ammo they can use to twist into their gain for their terrible purposes?

Sure took a lot of 'journalists' to author this propaganda leak from Garland and Smith.
Did each one type a single paragraph, or did they take turns with individual words?

I am far more concerned with the special prosecutor and DOJ lying to the American people, and the American people paying them to do it.

The role of special prosecutor must be abolished. When was the last time a special prosecutor came up with any criminal charges at all related to the actual crime they were tasked with investigating?.
The filing of any process charge should be contingent on proving the target criminal act a, actually occured and b, charges are brought.
Scooter libby is a case study. In essence the DOJ alleged that a crime, say a bank robbery, occured in Manhattan in July. Years later you are accused of robbing the bank and hauled in for questioning under oath. From that session you are on record as having been to Manhattan around the date of the crime. A year later the DoJ realizes that the bank was actually robbed in January, while you were in Mexico. Two months later the oJ finds out the bank was never actually robbed. A month later you are charged with lying under oath when, after millions spent on investigations, it is determined that in July you were actually in Newark, not Manhattan when the alleged bank robbery did not actually occur.
That is how the DoJ uses process crimes to punish political opponents.
The fact that the bank was not actually robbed but defrauded by a Democrat is irrelevant to any legal proceedings, and cannot be mentioned at your trial.

Going after anyone who has any connection to Donald Trump. Trying to scare away any help.
Frightening his lawyers into quitting him. I certainly hope when Donald Trump is re-elected he doesn't forget these folks. Payback is a beitch and they have earned it.

#11, earned it to the point that public burning at the stake should be in order for them all.
