NEW YORK — A prominent group that represents LGBT conservatives says a video shared by Ron DeSantis ′ presidential campaign that slams rival Donald Trump for his past support of gay and transgender people “ventured into homophobic territory.” The “DeSantis War Room” Twitter account shared the video on Friday — the last day of June’s LGBTQ+ Pride Month — that features footage of Trump at the Republican National Convention in 2016 saying he would “do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens.” Trump had been pledging protection from terrorist attacks weeks after the shootings at the Pulse Nightclub, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, CORRECTIONS*

It seems to me that PDT is not so much pro-gay/transgender as he is pro human. The President is supposed to be president of all people, and his job is to protect and serve the American people. I see no conflict with that and the beliefs of MAGA. DeSantis' team is acting more like hypocritical leftists with this one. They're also projecting "homophobia" on Republicans.

LGBTQ are Americans just like every American they should not be harassed for their choices.
Pedophiles and people who wish to turn their little boy child into a girl should be locked away somewhere.

Another misstep by Ron. The issue I have is the last paragraph stating the Supreme Court ruled that people can refuse to work with same sex couples. That’s not true. People can’t be forced to create content if it goes against their religious beliefs.

Most people tolerated the LGBTQ crowd before they got all uppity and militant. It's only a small percentage acting out but like other radical leftists, a few make the rest pay for the actions of the most extreme. Children are the red line that should not have been crossed.

I was a fan of De Santis for what he was doing as Governor, but he's crapping in his own bed, alienating great numbers of Republican (Trump) voters. My opinion of his judgment and conservative credentials has dropped considerably. IMO he needs much better advisors, preferably some NOT afflicted with TDS.

Sorry, I am having a problem that any of these people can fix our nation's problems. This election is fast becoming a clown show and the media and candidates are all clowns.

Did your grandmother ever say to you, ''Just bloom where you're planted.'' or something similar? RS is a good governor for Florida. Why would he want to be just another weed in the garden in DC?

Let’s put this ad in context. When PDT issued this statement, none of this garbage was going on. In fact, democrats were getting worried that too many of the LGBT community were leaning right because of the gay conservatives that were speaking out. When Biden came into office everything changed. Perversion of any kind was celebrated and that community made the horrific mistake of pushing their debauchery on children. What was tolerance for their community turned rapidly into complete intolerance. LGBTQ+ had made a grave misjudgment on what the American people would accept. To conflate the group Trump had promised to protect with the group acting out today is disingenuous. Anyone can see they are world’s apart.
This was a silly and unserious ad created by fools who are out of touch with the American people. They are mired in their same old tactics and stale ideas. DeSantis really has shown a side of himself that we had not seen before. Unfortunately, it does not serve him well. It would be better for him to bow out, throw his support behind Trump and go home and work on building back his reputation for being a good Governor. Right now, he is not doing a good job in either area. He has to know he is failing to draw the support he needs. Is his ego being massaged to the point that he is unable to make wise decisions? It certainly appears that way. He foolishly tied his rising star to the wrong people and they are dragging him down. His story will go down in political history as a cautionary tale about having the wisdom to understand the political landscape and the patience to bid his time.

I think the homosexuals and lesbians who truly want to live their adult lives as adults and in the privacy of their own homes do not like the QTranny ++++ being shoved down everyone's throats, including their own, and the targeting of children has crossed a line for them, too.

The gay community seems to support President Trump...so carl rove made a big mistake with the ad...or is he just that desperate.....I suspect...desperate as his chances to run the White House under santimonious's regime...wonder what the swamp has on rove to make him so stupid when it comes to political games....maybe the FBI has something on him and he's afraid....

My 2 cents- (and I know nobody cares :-)- this ad was not good. If the Republicans come off as being in favor of trying to turn back the clock, so to speak, on gay rights in general--that will be bad. People are generally live and let live now on that issue, at least up to a point.
The winning issue is the transgender extremism - the drag queens at school, the books on how to perform oral sex in elementary schools (!), most of all, the idea that the schools could initiate the process to take your children and place them in foster care and take them for drastic surgeries and treatments against the will of the parents. IT'S A SLAM DUNK! It strictly the craziest of the Democratic party elites who are infavor of this lunacy.
In a few years, it will be rightly seen as the same as the lobotomizing of the mentally ill back in the 50s, the Nazi experiments on Jewish women--it's horrific and unbelievable that this is happening to children. and it's absolutely vital that Republicans play it smart, win back control of the federal government, and save the children from this madness.
Every Republican politician and voter needs to stay focused on that: WINNING. Nothing else matters. Your great ideas and pure philosophy means nothing without power.

I never liked President Trump's position that he didn't care which restroom Bruce (Caitlyn) Jenner used. I do care. He clearly adores his family. I don't believe that he 'doesn't care' about this issue with respect to his children and grandchildren. It's fair game to play the comment as something for voters to consider. This issue will be important for 2024. I want a president that doesn't stutter with respect to xx and xy chromosomes!
