The British university student who was killed in the tragic Titanic submarine 'implosion' was 'terrified' about the trip and only joined the crew to please his dad for Father's Day, his heartbroken aunt has revealed.(snip)Suleman's mother Christine, a psychologist and life coach, and his sister Alina had been spending a month in Canada before the father and son undertook the dive. In January 2019, Christine revealed how she and her husband had been involved in a terrifying plane 'plunge',

Because of the near death experience in 2019, the father thought of all the opportunities missed in his life, & wanted to live them & teach his children to not miss them. Sadly, he took away all of the opportunities in life for himself & for his terrified son who was trying to please him.

A good brave son. There are worse reasons to die than trying to please a beloved parent and it is not wrong to want to share special moments with one’s children. These men are dead and have gone to their rewards. Besides jumping on the victims’ bones for taking risks in return for adventure liberals only have one more use for young Suleman: finding out his pronouns.

Estranged older sister / "heartbroken aunt" who hadn't been in contact with her family for years, third-handedly claims her nephew informed a relative he 'wasn't very up for it' but felt compelled to please his father. "Terrified" premise rejected.

A good friend died in the crash of a homebuilt aircraft, due to a failure of a seemingly non-critical secondary system, the canopy latch. He had built his own aircraft and flew it safely for many years, but upgraded to a larger homebuilt aircraft and purchased it from the builder. The ostensibly 'triple redundant' canopy latch system failed somehow, resulting in a fatal crash. Several small problems weren't caught in time. Small things can cause big consequences. A similar "small" thing happened with John Denver. John Denver bought a homebuilt aircraft which had a non-standard and very difficult to use fuel tank selector valve. The valve handle was located very inconveniently, extremely difficult to reach and hard to turn in flight. Denver also failed to refuel the aircraft, which had the capability to carry over five hours of fuel, and chose to take off with about 30 minutes fuel in one tank, and a similar amount in the second tank....which couldn't be used without the valve being turned. Denver was flying at low altitude, which is very enjoyable, but risky, because time available to deal with problems is very short without 'gliding room'. He ran the fuel tank dry, which shut down the engine and during the difficult contortions to reach the fuel valve....the aircraft hit the water in an uncontrolled manner. If he had flown the aircraft straight and level after the engine quit, a water landing was very much survivable - several of the same type aircraft have, unfortunately, demonstrated this. In any unforgiving environment, small things, seemingly unimportant design or building choices can suddenly become critical. We may never know exactly what precipitated the failure on the Titan sub, but I hope that enough wreckage is recovered to understand the problem, to better avoid it in the future. Reports indicate that a number of risky choices were made on the sub design.

On the other side of the coin, can you imagine being 19 with such a unique achievement? Nope, the young man died well.

We’ve covered some of the legal opinions on the Trump indictment, and there are some varied views. We’ve reported some of them, including those from Jonathan Turley, Andrew McCarthy, and Alan Dershowitz, among others. But there’s a Twitter thread from Will Scharf that makes some interesting points that are not being picked up by the media. Scharf is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney who worked on two Supreme Court confirmations and clerked for two federal appellate judges. He’s also running for Missouri Attorney General. Like many, he thinks the prosecution against the former president is “outrageous.”

This particular survey was taken June 12-14, 2023, after Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, former New Jersey Gov. Chis Christie, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum jumped into the race. It also followed federal prosecutors indicting Trump. Despite all of that, Trump’s lead has actually increased among likely Granite State Republican primary voters over the last month, jumping from 39 percent support to 44 percent support — a five point increase. DeSantis fell six points over the last month, from 18 percent to 12 percent. This reflects an 11-point swing in Trump’s direction over the last month.

Score half a point for Donald Trump. It turns out he was on to something with his claim the 2020 election was rigged, though not in the way he thinks. The dirty deed didn’t happen in offices in Arizona or Georgia, where Republicans supposedly were banished while Democrats counted duffel bags full of late-arriving votes. Nor did Trump lose because computers were wired to rob him of victory. Instead, the cheating that likely denied Trump a second term was very close to home. In fact, it was an inside job.
