Here Goes Your Taxes: Pentagon Discloses
“Accounting Error” Resulting in $6.2
Billion Surplus for Ukraine (VIDEO)

The Pentagon revealed on Tuesday that an overestimation in the value of weapons sent to Ukraine over the past two years has resulted in an extra $6.2 billion of U.S. taxpayers’ money earmarked for the Eastern European country. This figure is approximately double what was originally estimated and allegedly will be utilized for future security packages. Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh provided clarification on the nature of the error, explaining that the military services had used the replacement cost rather than the book value of equipment pulled from Pentagon stocks and sent to Ukraine.

This is just a scheme to allow more arms to be shipped to Ukraine. Replacement cost is exactly cost the military should be using unless we don’t intend to replace the arms we give away because when the military goes crying to Congress because they have no guns, bombs or bullets, because they gave them away or left them for the Taliban, the price the taxpayer with be forced to pay is the replacement cost. On the other hand perhaps China will already have invaded and occupied our unarmed country and we’ll just have to pay with our lives and freedom.

"Accounting error"? Why isn't the pentagon held accountable for the $ TRILLIONS in taxpayer money they cannot account for? The pentagon has failed their last 5 audits in a row. Of an $800 BILLION a year budget, the pentagon has no idea where 61% of that money went. Over a 5 year period, we are talking about trillions. So I say we fine the pentagon by the amount they cannot account for...

Wow, so they used the book value not the replacement costs. Seems to me the replacement costs are what the taxpayers of the USA are going to have to spend for the weapons we already paid for once. The Democratic war makers are responsible for the costs but the people are the ones who will have to ante up and pay the bills. Lets poll the countries tax payers and find out what they think about our entrance into a war we really have no business in.

A lot of the "accounting" of military equipment for Ukraine has been BS. For example, an M113 Armored Personnel Carrier which was built in the 1960s, and is now 60 years old, originally cost $300K. We built about 80.000 of them over the years, and stopped using them 15-20 years ago, but have HUGE numbers just parked in storage. So - if you give a 30,40 or 50 year old APC to Ukraine that has been sitting in a warehouse for 20 years, what is it's "value"? They have been "valuing" a lot of this equipment at "new value". Try that with the IRS on a 40 year old pickup truck....unless it is a collector truck that has gone through a total restoration to show condition, the actual value is probably $500 or $1,000. Claiming new value when you give it away as a tax deduction will get a fine from the IRS. And what about old munitions? Buy an artillery shell for $5K, with a shelf life of 20 years. When it has two years of shelf life left, and you give it to Ukriane - rather than waiting two years and paying $4K to have it destroyed safely....is it still worth the $5K new cost? Most accounting won't let you claim that, and you could make the case that the old, about to become dangerous and unusable shell is a net liability, since you can give it away for nothing, but would have to pay a bunch of money to safely scrap them. LOTS of BS accounting when giving away old military hardware. Figuring real value for these "budgets" is mostly BS. Like giving away any old, used stuff - what do you get for that $1,000 dining table at a garage sale? Maybe $50? Old used stuff isn't worth it's new cost, even if some second user can use it.

The good senator said the hearing titled "Protecting Pride: Defending the Civil Rights of LGBTQ+ Americans" was filled with "a sort of Alice in Wonderland weirdness" that included testimony from a Democrat's witness claiming the existence of "three biological sexes and an infinite number of genders." Never before in the 178-year history of Texas has its governor vetoed so many bills passed by his own party. Texas Republicans would override most of these vetoes if they could, but the legislature was required by the state constitution to adjourn in May until 2025. Tens of thousands of hours of work that went into all these bills were washed away by Abbott’s retaliatory strike against conservatives. One of the bills that Gov. The Navy then immediately relayed that information to the on-scene commanders leading the search effort, and it was used to narrow down the area of the search, the official said. But the sound of the implosion was determined to be “not definitive,” the official said, and the multinational efforts to find the submersible continued as a search and rescue effort. “Any chance of saving a life is worth continuing the mission,” the official said.
