Louisiana Sovereignty Resolution Should

Few things concern American citizens more than the steady encroachment of the federal government on our constitutionally protected liberty. WB Yeats’ words aptly describe the way millions of Americans feel about their own government: “The falcon cannot hear the falconer; things fall apart; the center cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.” The federal government seems to have no mechanism of self-restraint. We feel suffocated by its excesses. It is appropriate in this context to celebrate the passage of SCR 21, Senator Stewart Cathey’s Joint Concurrent Resolution.

It was always the Founder's intention that the real power of our nation should flow from the States.

As the federal government becomes more corrupt, incompetent, and tyrannical, the states will realize they have no other choice than to carve out their own path. States likes California and New York are perfect examples of what happens when they embrace federal policy.

Louisiana has a Democrat Governor, so we will see if this passes. I would like to see this in Texas, although I wonder if the Rino's would kill it. Certainly Gov. Abbott has no initiative, and does nothing.

It would be great if Texas and all the other Southern coastal states ally with each other against the federales. As the U.S. Armed Forces continue with its wokism, the military shouldn’t be effective enough to counteract the states’ secession.

I think I see how the lawfare maggots will resist this: FTA: 'The Resolution rests on the foundational writings of the men who ratified the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, the guarantees made to the 13 free and independent States who formed our Constitution, and US Supreme Court precedent going back two centuries.' and, also: 'In the 1798 Kentucky Resolutions, which nullified the federal Alien and Sedition Acts, Thomas Jefferson wrote that the States who agreed to ratify the Constitution are “sovereign and independent” within their sphere,....(snip) SO, does this right accrue ONLY to those states that formed the Constitution? And did Louisiana ratify it at some later date?

I think LA has the right idea, Dem. gov. or not. If they keep hammering it home it’ll happen. I’ve often wondered what would happen if red states would simply ignore the federal governments illegal mandates and stand by their own constitution. Enough states working together could be mighty strong.

If enough states ignore the Feds, there will be little the Feds can do about it.

In 1996 comedian Chris Rock performed an HBO special called, “Bring the Pain” (full video here). His most memorable routine began with: “Who’s more racist? Black people or white people? Black people. Because everything white people hate about black people, black people REALLY don’t like about black people.” Rock used the hard, “R”, calling it a Civil War between black people and n****** , declaring that, “n****** got to go!” The audience in Washington DC was mostly if not entirely black, and the laughter was loud. It was real. And it signaled agreement.

In the face of a virtual wall of silence among Senate Republicans, Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio has announced that he will place a hold in confirmation of nominees to Justice Department positions to protest the indictment of Donald Trump: (snip) It is not clear what might cause Vance to drop this hold. Perhaps the Special Prosecutor Jack Smith dropping the charges of the indictment? Merrick Garland certainly will claim that Smith is “independent” and that he, Garland, cannot properly intervene. So, expect this block to remain until the next president is inaugurated or the matter is ended in the courts.

Earlier on Tuesday, former and potentially future President Donald Trump was arrainged in Miami for his handling of classified documents. He pled not guilty on all 37 counts brought forth by Special Counsel Jack Smith. Law Professor Jonathan Turley over recent days has explained through many channels what is at stake if Trump is found guilty of even just one charge. In an opinion piece for USA Today published on Tuesday, Turley detailed how the maximum sentence for the charges come with 10-12 years in prison potentially. He isn't exactly a young man.

Chairman Mao, the unspoken hero of our garbage ruling caste, understood that power flows from the barrel of a gun, and it’s not unreasonable to wonder whether the institutions in America that carry guns – law enforcement and the military – and who are supposed to protect us will turn those guns on us if commanded to by the ruling elite. Stop wondering. Their answer is that to a greater extent than those of us who grew up in America, when it was a free country before it became our present crypto-leftist tyranny, want to admit, they will. Oath Keepers founder and political prisoner Stewart Rhodes was sentenced on Thursday, May 25th, in Washington, DC. Far-left Obama-appointed US District Judge Amit Mehta on Thursday sentenced Rhodes to 18 years in federal prison. This was after he added extra years to his sentence because he believed Rhodes’ actions amounted to terrorism. This was completely ludicrous. The soulless judge then lectured him on what a danger he was to society. Rhodes is currently 57. If this kangaroo court’s conviction stands, Rhodes will be 75 when he is released.(snip) Yet, a DC kangaroo court found him guilty of sedition for attending a Trump rally.

Now here’s an interesting case. A group of Muslims is suing the FBI, claiming religious discrimination over surveillance that the feds carried out a few years after 9/11. The hard-Left ACLU and the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) are siding with the plaintiffs, which ordinarily would be a massive red flag impugning their case, but the FBI’s entire case is based on its trustworthiness as an institution. And after all we have seen over the last few years, can anyone really trust the FBI? Time Magazine reported Thursday that the case is based on the activities of a reckless FBI informant

Adam Schiff, D-Calif., for insisting that former President Donald Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election. In a 225-196 vote, lawmakers decided to set aside the censure resolution against Schiff, effectively killing it and preventing a vote on passage. The resolution, introduced by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., was opposed by 20 Republicans as two other GOP lawmakers voted "present" along with five Democrats. The resolution was known to be on shaky ground with some Republicans. Ryan is from Wisconsin. It should also be noted that in October 2016, Ryan declared that he will not campaign for, nor defend, Mr. Trump, then the GOP presidential candidate.
