I guess I am a prude, but it never occurred to me to imagine that at a White House, even a guest of the President of the United States would disrobe.
Silly me. I keep on forgetting that the whole point of alphabet ideology is to strip all norms and dignity from Western values and replace them with…this. There has been a lot of angst about the manner in which the White House was draped with a Pride flag at the place of honor in the center of a display. I share that outrage, but by now I just shrug when I see such a shameless elevation of an anti-Western ideology

Cormac McCarthy, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author whose searing novel No Country for Old Men served as the foundation for the Coen brothers’ 2007 film that earned Oscars for best picture, supporting actor, directing and adapted screenplay, has died. He was 89.
McCarthy died Tuesday of natural at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, his publisher, Knopf, announced. Known for his crisp prose, foreboding view of humanity, uncompromising approach to death and violence — and rebellion against quote marks and semicolons — McCarthy was celebrated as one of the leading American authors of his time.

Former President Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to 37 charges related to alleged mishandling of classified documents.
Trump’s lawyers asked for a jury trial during the former president’s arraignment Tuesday at a federal courthouse in Miami.
“We most certainly enter a plea of not guilty,” Trump attorney Todd Blanche told the judge. Before the arraignment, deputy marshals booked the former president and took electronic copies of his fingerprints. They did not to take a mugshot of Trump since he is easily recognizable. The booking process took about 10 minutes.
Trump’s aide and co-defendant, Walt Nauta was also arrested, fingerprinted and processed.

A transgender influencer was banned from the White House on Tuesday for posing topless at President Biden’s Pride celebration over the weekend.
Rose Montoya, who exposed his bare prosthetic breasts to the camera and onlookers at the official event, violated basic standards of decency and social manners, a spokesperson for the White House told the New York Post.
“This behavior is inappropriate and disrespectful for any event at the White House,” the spokesperson said. “It is not reflective of the event we hosted to celebrate LGBTQI+ families or the other hundreds of guests who were in attendance. Individuals in the video will not be invited to future events.”

San Francisco may not be irretrievably lost as a viable metropolis — yet. But its status as one of America’s great cities is gone and it’s hard to see how the once-golden city can return to its dazzling glory as a center of art, architecture, and commerce. It’s not unprecedented in America. St. Louis, Cleveland, Buffalo — all were once thriving cities. All have since lost at least half their population, and those who remain have failed to regenerate the vibrancy, the energy of the early to mid-20th century.
But what’s truly shocking about the demise of San Francisco has been the speed at which the city has fallen

I’ve said it before and I will continue to say it. The Republican primary candidate bench is deep and talented. CNN has been hosting town halls with individual declared candidates with rotating hosts and locations. Monday night, Chris Christie held a CNN town hall with host Anderson Cooper. The audience was comprised of Republican voters who are committed to voting in primary elections. The audience was silent – no clapping allowed – and some audience members asked were chosen to ask questions of Christie.
Christie does well in the town hall format. He remembers the voter’s name and repeats it in his answer. That comes from Public Speaking 101 class.

Donald Trump will not have his mugshot taken as he appears in a Florida court to face charges of mishandling sensitive files, officials say.
But the former president is expected to be fingerprinted and give a DNA sample after Tuesday's hearing in Miami.
The city police chief said the force was ready for crowds of between 5,000 and 50,000 people to gather.
The hearing will be the second time Mr Trump has appeared in court this year, but Tuesday's case is more serious.
City officials have prepared for protests outside the Wilkie D Ferguson Jr court in downtown Miami, after the former president called on supporters to gather.

With all the chaos that has permeated the cultural arena over the last decade or so, it’s easy for conservatives to get discouraged. Things have truly gone off the rails, with a level of depravity that was once thought to be unthinkable becoming mainstream.
At the forefront of that has been the battle over transgender ideology. Children are being pumped full of puberty blockers, and in some cases, being physically mutilated by surgeries, all under the ridiculous guise of “transitioning.” Nothing is sacred for the far-left, not even the health and well-being of children. Yet, amidst all the darkness, there is hope peaking through.

During a portion of an interview with the Fox News Channel set to air on Monday’s broadcast of “Hannity,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) acknowledged that California “has not made progress in the last two decades” on homelessness, but he can’t in four years as Governor make up for the historic levels of homeless people that existed in 2005 under a Republican and the “dynamics” in California “are very different” than in a state like Florida, whose homeless population is a fraction of California’s, but stated that “we own” the problem.
DeSantis said, “This state has not made progress in the last two decades as it relates to homelessness.”

It's time for somebody else to take a spin.
Pat Sajak, who has hosted the syndicated game show "Wheel of Fortune" for more than 40 years, announced in a tweet Monday night that he plans to step down next year. "Well, the time has come. I've decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last," Sajak said. "It's been a wonderful ride, and I'll have more to say in the coming months.
"Many thanks to you all." Sajak, 76, took the helm of "Wheel of Fortune" in 1981 alongside co-host Vanna White. The show is a mainstay of the primetime lineup on local television channels across the country,

New disclosures from Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop appear to show that President Biden’s troubled son and some of Hunter’s business associates were deeply involved in advocating for Ukrainian interests in the United States during the time that Mr. Biden served as vice president. Republicans say that this and other emails prove that the president was, in fact, involved in a bribery scheme as described by a federal whistleblower complaint.
One April 2014 email sent by the first son to his close friend and business partner, Devon Archer, included a detailed memo analyzing the political and economic landscape of Ukraine that the younger Mr. Biden called “thoughts after doing some research.”
