Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) questioned Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) position in the 2024 Republican presidential race ahead of an expected campaign announcement this week.
One day after Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) announced his presidential bid in North Charleston, South Carolina, Gingrich said on Fox News that Scott and others are “partly a function of DeSantis having failed to fill the vacuum,” noting the large number of Republicans looking for a serious party alternative besides former President Donald Trump. DeSantis got greedy and impatient. He could have had it all if he'd just wait one more term. He should never have hooked up with the Bushes.

I beg to differ. The Dem national strategy is being implement by the cabal out of DOJ in convert with NYC, GA and of course DC circuit. The judge in NYC has already said he will take Trump off the campaign trail for that bogus trial in 2024. Georgia will do the same in 2024. There is no way on earth Trump can get a fair trial in DC and he will be convicted on J6 and document handling issues in DC before November 2024 leaving us with no candidate. DeSantis is our best bet. Fox is all in with TIm Scott, who can’t win. Great guy, great back story, but never ran anything. DeSantis scares the Dems and can win.

#2, We’ve had many discussions in my household regarding the points you brought up regarding the lawfare that is being used by the democrat party. Of course, democrats salivate at the thought of tying Trump up in Court and taking him out that way. The cases are all part of their strategy to convict Trump in radically biased Courtrooms with complicit Judges and send him to prison. This is hard to believe knowing through evidence recently revealed of the Biden criminality in all its glory. I cannot wrap my head around a DOJ that can blatantly ignore these crimes while bringing the entire system down on President Trump’s head. Will the American people stand for such injustice? Will this be the tipping point? I am truly gobsmacked at the injustice on display. Where is the outrage?
I cannot get over the complete collapse of judicial integrity. Where is the vaunted legal community? Surely, there is still a faction that believes in equal justice under the law or has our entire system become corrupted? Where are the legal scholars who have given their lives to the teaching of the law. Are they all corrupt? Clearly, there are few courageous men and women who will speak out on the injustices we see played out on a daily basis. The corruption of the DOJ is the most concerning aspect of this administration because if we do not have integrity in that agency, the Republic is in grave danger. We cannot allow such lawlessness by this administration and remain a Constitutional Republic. Are we just going through the motions believing justice is possible in this country or has it been hijacked in order to keep democrats in power forever? The blatant abuse of power by the judiciary that is being directed against Kari Lake and Donald Trump is a very bad indication that Justice is becoming impossible to achieve.

If the corrupt DC court and a biased DC jury convicts Donald Trump of insurrection then by law he cannot hold public office and DeSantis will be the next best thing. You know that's what they are shooting for. They will wait until closer to 2024 or in 2024 to get the conviction. DeSantis is positioning himself to be the default nominee.

Interesting article, and valuable thread, Patriots.
IMHO, while enjoying your reasoning, my go-to conviction is that ‘God is still Sovereign.’
He knows what is best for America, so let’s pray daily for ‘righteousness to return.’
[Can it get any worse?]
And as good as Ron has governed FL, my daily prayers give me a check in my heart to ask our Good Lord, His vision for America…
He reminds me of the historic Trump family prayers.

Speak for yourself, Newt. I think he's a great governor and would be delighted to vote for him if he is the nominee. I also support President Trump, so whoever is on the ticket is my candidate. Ideally, it would be both.

There is a game being played here that has nothing to do with the voters. DeSantis is the GOP pick. That’s why he was persuaded to run. The GOP will help bury Trump if they can. That doesn’t make DeSantis necessarily a bad person. That’s politics whether we like it or not. Meanwhile the DNC/Media think any Democrat can beat any Republican. They are lining up their voter fraud plan.

I know Democrats who would vote for DeSantis but not for Trump. I think the DNC wants Trump to be the nominee because they think they can beat him. DeSantis is who they are afraid of because they know the never Trumpers will cross the aisle for him

LOL the never trumpers. DeSantis is the only one how can win the general, but can't win in the primary.. I'm not getting the logic here.

Let’s keep our eyes on the objective….defeating Democrats. If we keep fighting among ourselves we’ll be harnessed to the tyranny of the left for decades to come.

What I see here is the anti-Trump forces are unwilling to bank all their hopes on one candidate so they are fielding multiple candidates hoping one of them will catch on. That probably won't work. They would have to show they can fix this country which is doubtful anyone can at this point. All that remains is who would expose the corruption and tyranny the most in our country. That would be Trump hands down. Trump brings the loons out of the woodwork.

Newt is full of it in this case. He’s been bought and paid for. DeSantis has been sidelined by the legislative session in FL and has not been able to campaign. He has a great record to run on. Trump has been unopposed.
