SUNY Hunter College professor Shellyne Rodriguez surrendered to police Thursday morning after brandishing a machete at a New York Post reporter who came to her door seeking comment regarding a video in which she can be seen harassing pro-life students.
Rodriguez, 45, turned herself into the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx after footage emerged on Tuesday showing her holding a machete to the throat of Post reporter Reuven Fenton. She has been charged with menacing and harassment, an NYPD spokesman told National Review.
Fenton had visited Rodriguez’s apartment in the Bronx to ask her about a recent controversy on campus in which she destroyed a table display set up by pro-life students.

I know what a conservative would be sentenced to if he did this.
Not holding my breath on this one, though at least she was fired.

Can't imagine how this would be viewed by the Left if the rolls were reversed and it was a Republican, not even a Conservative, did this to a table for pro-abortion group on campus.

She’ll probably get a medal and a visit to the White House.

Abortion is actually murder of a baby. It's not about politics.

Expect a shooting at that school in the near future. Poor teacher being picked on, can't have that! (Sarcasm off)

I guess the days of Hunter College professors like Alice Von Hildebrand are long gone. Too bad. She was a voice for true femininity and feminism and the worth of women in the world.

The appropriate destination for her sentence is the nearest zoo. People will PAY to see this bizarre Police-Hating and Anti-ProLife creature from the Wild Kingdom! The mayor will be happy to see extra revenue coming from the zoo.

THAT sounds exactly like "assault with a deadly weapon" to me. And "assault" means to put one in reasonable fear of harm, not actually harming someone, as is commonly thought. The actual doing is "battery".

Look for her soon to be fawningly interviewed on The View, followed by lucrative speaking contracts, portraying her as a victim of white oppression.

Wouldn't be surprised if Bragg let her out and only charged her with misdemeanor jaywalking - $50.00 fine suspended.

Just watched the video of her interaction with the Students For Life table. These are not the actions of a sane woman. She is a nutcase. Most telling is the way the video is interpreted by people who support her viewpoint. They don't think she did anything wrong and that she acted reasonably. Unbelievable.

Not to worry, the teacher's union will take care of her, even though she is manifestly insane and a threat to anyone who pulls her hair-trigger. She'll be quietly transferred to some entity in the huge CUNY universe that pays her what she was making before, if not more. Unless she gets prosecuted for holding a machete to the reporter's throat and for saying she would "chop him up," she'll come out of this mess smalling like a peony garden. In the sane world, what she did to the reporter would be called aggravated assault, and she would be charged, convicted, and sent to the hoosegow for, say, eleven months and twenty-nine days. And she would never again be permitted to buy any more assault machetes.

This lunatic also held a machete to the neck of a reporter. Kinda tells you about the Left's response to free speech.

This ladies and gentlemen is what's teaching our youth at college campi across the fruited plain. Unhinged leftist lunatics who when someone goes against their virulent ideology react with violence. I saw the tape online especially when she confronted that reporter with her machete. What sane person acts that way? I expect Mz. Rodriguez to be on CNN or MSNBC soon. Watch and see.
