A jury has found that Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll.
The panel of six men and three women also found that Trump injured advice columnist Carroll in a Manhattan Bergdorf Goodman dressing room and defamed her, ordering the former President to pay her $5million in damages.
Trump has been accused of sexual misconduct or assault by more than two dozen women, but this has so far been the only case to end up before a jury.Carroll, 79, sued for battery under the Adult Survivors Act, a law passed in New York that allowed a one year window for sexual assault claims normally outside of the statute of limitations.

In today's ridiculous news, I present this picture:
Here's
@JohnKerry
at the coronation on Saturday and whaddaya know? He appears to have found those medals he proudly, flamboyantly threw away in an antiwar protest in 1971. In case you were wondering whether Kerry is still a phony, the answer is yes — yes, he is.
Kerry is famous for tossing his Vietnam war medals over a fence, or at least, saying he did, before he later said it was just his ribbons, and then later still saying it (was) some other guy's medals.

America's Commander-in-Chief just laid another egg.
President Joe Biden wants all Pentagon vehicles to be electric by 2030 – in just six years and seven months. America’s fearless leader previewed this policy on Earth Day 2022.
“We’re going to start the process where every vehicle in the United States military, every vehicle, is going to be climate-friendly — every vehicle,” Biden said in Seattle that April 22. “I mean it.” (snip) Those who have worn America’s uniform find this jaw-droppingly stupid.
“Anyone who has even a little experience in military logistics recognizes Joe Biden’s E.V. mandate as a political farce,” House Armed Services Committee member Jim Banks (R-Indiana) told me.

It’s fair to say that things have not been going well for Fox News since they “parted ways” with Tucker Carlson.
Carlson was the underpinning of the evening programming, their most popular host. His doing well helped all the other shows in the evening. The anger of many of the viewers at the move is palpable and Fox has been feeling it in the ratings. We’ve reported before how bad it is and that actions have consequences. Megyn Kelly laid out part of the problem. But it’s only getting worse.

The judge in the Stormy Daniels hush-money case on Monday barred former President Donald Trump from sharing evidence and other material from the case publicly.
Judge Juan Merchan also banned Trump from looking at evidence without his lawyers present.
The Manhattan District Attorney's office had sought the order due to the fear that Trump would 'inappropriately' post content from the case on social media or elsewhere.

Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald announced that his husband David Miranda, a Brazilian politician who fought for underrepresented communities, died Tuesday at age 37. "It is with the most profound sadness that I announce the passing away of my husband, @DavidMirandaRio. He would have turned 38 tomorrow," Greenwald tweeted. "His death, early this morning, came after a 9-month battle in ICU. He died in full peace, surrounded by our children and family and friends." Miranda was a member of the Brazilian congress. He replaced Jean Wyllys, who left the country after receiving death threats, in 2019. Greenwald, who previously wrote his

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said that he was not confident Republicans could take back the Senate majority next year - but outlined the GOP's strategy in an interview Monday.
Talking by phone to CNN, McConnell said Republicans' top targets are Pennsylvania, Ohio, Montana and West Virginia.
Overall, the map is favorable for Republicans, with Democrats needing to defend 23 seats, while Republicans will only be up for reelection in 11.

Former Rep. Liz Cheney made it her mission to take down former and potentially future President Donald Trump, so much so that she let it become an obsession that distracted from other work. She not only lost her role as House Conference Chair in May 2021, she went on to lose her primary last August to her successor, current Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) by nearly 40 points. Cheney is back, though, as her group, the Great Task PAC released a 60-second ad in New Hampshire against Trump.

Here’s another example of leftists being authoritarian under the guise of trying to protect marginalized groups. California has rolled out a program ostensibly designed to stop hate crimes and other acts of bigotry.
How?
By creating a hotline allowing residents to snitch on one another for engaging in “hateful” activity.
The program, which is called “California vs Hate,” is “a non-emergency hate incident and hate crime reporting system to support individuals and communities targeted for hate,” according to its website. The state legislature provided funding to its Civil Rights Department to establish the initiative.

A panel in California, where rotten public policy ideas metastasize like a fungus growing in dark, slimy conditions, has approved paying reparations to descendants of slaves. It is impossible to overstate just how insane this is.
The reparations task force, appointed by Boy Gov. Gavin Newsom, voted Saturday to recommend the state pay out as much as $800 billion to the descendants of enslaved or free black people who were in the U.S. by the end of the 19th century. That’s 2.5 times the size of California’s annual budget. Recipients could rake in as much as $1.2 million each.
Or more. Much more. Because San Francisco’s reparations advisory committee has recommended

Joe Biden Tuesday evening released a brief statement after meeting with congressional leaders to discuss the debt ceiling.
Biden met with Speaker McCarthy, Democrat Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senate Minority Leader McConnell and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in the Oval Office.
McCarthy’s debt limit plan will eliminate Biden’s unconstitutional student loan bailout plan and slash the funds set aside for the army of IRS agents.

WASHINGTON— President Joe Biden predicted Tuesday that the U.S.-Mexico border would be “chaotic for a while” when pandemic-related restrictions end, as 550 active-duty troops began arriving and migrants weighed whether or when to cross.
The restrictions have been in place since 2020, and allowed U.S. officials to quickly return migrants over the border. They are ending later this week and the U.S. is putting into place a set of new policies that will clamp down on illegal crossings while offering migrants a legal path to the United States if they apply online through a government app, have a sponsor and pass background checks.
