Republicans have the upper hand over President Biden and the Democrats in the debt ceiling negotiations, according to a conservative budget expert. Richard Stern, the Heritage Foundation’s director of the Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget, told Fox News Digital the debt ceiling negotiations are now in the GOP's favor. "What the Democrats have shown and what Biden’s shown is no vision whatsoever," Stern said. "What they’re offering is quite literally a bankruptcy of the country."

Comments:

Okay, so let’s see what they do with this “upper hand.”

Well yes. They are actually passing laws. Biden is stupid enough to veto and Democrats are stupid enough to let him do it. Biden would HAPPILY let the country default if it gets him re-elected.

The GOP's have a reputation of caving as the deadline approaches. They always say...we'll get em next time...this is not the hill we want to die on. Also, don't underestimate squishy Rino's from going along with the dem's.

Doesn't matter one bit. Biden's progs will stonewall until they reach the edge of the cliff. Then like they always do, they and the media will go full bore with blamining the GOP for wanting disaster. If the GOP doesn't cave, like they always do, Biden's prog will be happy to take the country over the cliff. These progs have no clue that they are suicidal. They beleive disaster will enable them to take full authoritarian power.

Zhou Biden flatly refused to negotiate with the Speaker of (our) House. McCarthy and the Republicans have now put an uncomfortable ball in Zhou’s court. Does he veto it with an election coming? Zhou has to learn that he does not snarl “No” eto working with the Republicans without there being consequences.

Opportunity is ripe for Republicans to win back the Senate next year – if they can land the candidates to pull it off. The GOP needs a net gain of one or two seats to flip the chamber, depending on which party wins the White House in 2024, and it’s Democrats who are defending the tougher seats. Democrats hold seven of the 10 seats that CNN ranks as most likely to flip party control next year – and the top three are all in states former President Donald Trump carried twice. But this spring’s recruitment season, coming on the heels of a midterm cycle marred by problematic GOP candidates, will likely

Right now, Joe Biden’s biggest enemy in the 2024 election is Joe Biden. If you are an incumbent president, there are many possible recipes for success in re-election—but slow and declining economic growth topped with persistently high inflation is not one of them. The economic news is ugly for the country, which will get over it eventually, and even uglier for Joe Biden, who may not get over it at all. After two consecutive quarters of “Don’t Call This a Recession!” GDP contraction, growth had got up to more than 3 percent in the third quarter of last year, and then it declined to 2.6 percent in the next quarter

Vice President Kamala Harris may turn out to be the most consequential vice president in modern history in the upcoming 2024 election, as Republicans seek to pair Harris' unpopularity with President Biden's old age in their pitch to voters. Harris is an unpopular vice president. Like her running mate, President Biden, has ridden the low 40s in most approval polls as of late. In fact, across approval rating polls, Harris hasn't gone out of the 40s in her approval rating since her first year in office in 2021. Regardless of her unpopularity, even among Democrats, the consequentiality of Harris' vice presidency could ultimately determine the outcome of the 2024 presidential election

Minnesota state Rep. Harry Niska, R., asked during a debate on a new bill whether praise for "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling or arguing that COVID originated in China would qualify as biased speech that would put citizens on a government database. Minnesota lawmakers are mulling a change to state law, House File 181, that would log alleged bias incidents even when they aren't considered a crime. The bill, introduced in January, would allow people to report perceived bias-related incidents such as alleged slurs and verbal attacks that would fall outside the hate crimes compiled annually by the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, according to the St. Cloud Times.

Former Ambassador Thomas Boyatt, a highly decorated foreign service officer who served in multiple senior U.S. foreign service roles in the 1970s and 80s, has a bone to pick with Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Since the chaotic and deadly U.S. exit from Afghanistan, Blinken has refused to turn over to Congress a key internal State Department dissent document signed by 23 U.S. diplomats at the embassy in Kabul. The classified cable was sent to Blinken and top leadership at State in July 2021, one month before the evacuation descended into chaos. The classified memo reportedly urged the administration to accelerate evacuation plans because the Afghan government

President Joe Biden announced that he would run for reelection, but his 2024 campaign will more likely only serve as a vehicle to let Kamala Harris become president. Biden could not even go longer than a day into his reelection campaign without his administration throwing doubt on his ability to serve four more years. When asked if Biden would serve a full second term, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said she would “not get ahead of the president” and that it was “something for him to decide.” That blunder (which Jean-Pierre later tried to walk back) makes everything quite clear.

House Republicans on Wednesday delivered Speaker Kevin McCarthy the biggest win of his tenure leading the chamber so far by passing his bill to raise the debt limit and slash spending, a bill that serves as the GOP's position on how to avoid a debt crisis in the coming weeks. The bill passed in a narrow 217-215 vote. Every Democrat voted against it, as expected, along with four Republicans: Andy Biggs of Arizona, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Ken Buck of Colorado and Matt Gaetz of Florida. Republicans cast the vote as a win that puts them in the driver's seat in negotiations they hope can happen with

White House staffers are rushing to help Vice President Kamala Harris boost her low approval ratings following her and President Biden's newly-announced re-election campaign this week. While neither Biden's nor Harris' approval ratings are above 50%, Harris has remained stagnant in the high 30s throughout the pair's time in office, while Biden has hovered around the low-to-mid 40s. Harris is likely to face more scrutiny than ever in the 2024 campaign given the president's age. He would be 82 on Inauguration Day 2025. Senior Biden adviser Anita Dunn has tasked White House teams to schedule more events featuring Harris and promoting more popular aspects of the Democratic platform, according to Axios.

Among cities and states with bans or limits: California; Burlington, Vermont; Vancouver, Canada; and Washington, D.C. While many critics first attacked the small engines for the noise they make, experts say these small, two-stroke engines release

Before his death in 1964, Ian Fleming wrote 14 books about James Bond, and the literary franchise, just like 007 himself, has proved unkillable. Writers from Kingsley Amis to Anthony Horowitz have taken up the mantle and produced Bond novels. But we’ve had to wait until now, with Kim Sherwood’s new novel “Double or Nothing,” for the Fleming estate to pass the baton to a woman. Although it would be misleading to say that this latest Bond novel is actually about Bond. More than an addition to the canon, “Double or Nothing” is an expansion of the universe, and an

Abortion is now rightly governed by the people’s elected legislators, and, sadly, to some extent by unelected bureaucrats, but, in any event, not by judges. The Dobbs decision was leaked a couple of months in advance of its issuance.

Ever since the 69-year-old conspiratorial activist Robert F.
