Indict One—And All?

As we await the publication of all the impending indictments of former President Donald Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Americans are trying to figure out what constitutes an indictable offense for current and retired public officials. Most legal experts, Left and Right, have noted: 1) Bragg promised in advance that he would try to find a way to indict Trump. His prior boasts are reminiscent of Stalin’s secret police enforcer Lavrentiy Beria’s quip, “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.” Nancy Pelosi gave the game away, when in her dotage, she muttered that Trump had a right to prove his innocence as if he is presumed guilty.

It’s a long article, but the 20 “Trump did not” points and what follows make it worth the effort.

Three more things worth mentioning. One, the dubious reasoning stretching a misdemeanor into a felony is not supported by any person or entity of standing.. Two, a state prosecutor is using his authority to prosecute Federal crime.. Three, the statute of limitations on the incident - seven years ago is long passed.- five as a misdemeanor, two as a felony. I am still wondering how the prosecution will answer these three points in court. What do they know that I don't?,

There was once a candidate on the stump wo used to revel in the crowd's chant of "Lock her up!" And she's still free as a bird, occasionally whispered to be making a comeback, even a run at the presidency. The candidate won election, hired an inept former Senator as his Attorney General, and nothing, NOTHING was done to lock up anyone. Twice the US Senate, sitting as jury, acquitted an impeached President. After the second the Minority Leader blasted the falsely accused and clearly stated that his bloc would not protect him again. VDH lives in a world that doesn't exist. American politics has never been honorable, and anyone who has followed along since the First Continental Congress knows it has always been a place with scalawags, crooks, and crazies looking to profit in cash and power. Today there is a UNIPARTY that ensures the TRILLIONS are spread around to the right places, and that special interests are promoted strategically. All three branches are politicized. Government is wholly suspect, increasingly distrusted - which it should ever have been. And the general public is inert, unwilling to accept that the government really isn't there to help, to pass out cash in various programs, to protect our nation and defend its borders. Oh, look...they're going to ban incandescent lightbulbs! To the ramparts!!

Right on, #2, right on. Even though he's not that old, VDH is of the gentleman's school of chivalry of the last century and has yet to figure out that the only way to destroy these Lefties is to adopt their own approach, ie, "by any means necessary," up to and including armed conflict. (BTW, I'm wondering if the "MD" in MDConservative is for Medical Doctor or postal code for the State of Maryland?)

If ever there was a must read, send and share compilation of information detailing differences between Trump and the attackers and destroyers of our freedoms, this Victor Davis Hanson piece is it. I would add that Trump has sacrificed far more than he has gained personally in this fight that he didn’t have to fight in the first place for the sake of saving our Republic. His adversaries and critics have gained far more politically & financially than he has gained, by the positions they have taken. There always indeed have been workers of evil in government, and everywhere else. The ultimate answer hasn’t changed. But, the numbers of people who love their particular evil more than the necessary actions for the ultimate success of overall good have changed. The question is whether or not there are still enough people, who know the answer, that are willing to deny themselves & take up that cross our forefathers bore in order to accomplish the victory for good that they bequeathed to US, so that future generations of Americans can enjoy it - some of whom are too ignorant to even know and understand what they are losing. Cynicism doesn’t win. Focusing on accomplishing good despite the efforts of evil, and leaning on the Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent One to guide and see US through it is the only hope for success. Our Founders knew that & did that, & they prevailed. When it’s all said and done, whether for good or ill, petty things like dislike or even hatred of perceived flaws in those who proved willing to deny themselves and fight won’t matter.

Re: potential thoughts of freedom’s enemies - “something you won’t dare do”, lack of vigilance and willingness to unite and stand for our Rule of Law is leading us ever closer to the point of “do or die”. As I said yesterday in another post. The proponents of America’s Transformation have already chosen Trump as the leader behind whom we must stand or fall, by their efforts to destroy him because of the threat he presents to them. Trump is absolutely right when he says it isn’t only him they want to destroy. He just happens to be standing between them and US. He has withstood them more than long enough to prove that he is a worthy leader. We don’t have the time or luxury to prove someone else.

VDH, I love him, but he leaves me hanging once again. Most of us on this site can point out the various violations to the rule of law and basic decency that democrats engage in. Of course, we cannot match his eloquence, but what we need are solutions. We know the problem, we know the adversary but what we desperately want is for someone to give us a way forward, offer suggestions, and that would give us hope. Right now we are drowning in a sea of lawlessness and corruption with little confidence that justice even exists in this country anymore. So how about throwing us a lifeline, VDH? Put that great mind to that task or are we well and truly without legal recourse and you just don’t want to admit it?

Now that we’ve seen what District Attorney Alvin Bragg has, the old Peggy Lee song comes to mind. Is that all there is? Yes, that’s all there is. The charges against Donald Trump are almost exactly as predicted. They are weak and, most important, political. As such, they are shockingly-blatant punishment for Trump daring to become president. In this sordid case, the letters D.A. stand for Democrat Attorney. The charges are the crime. Shame on Bragg for abusing his authority and turning his office into a partisan outpost.

There is little doubt that news of former President Donald Trump's indictment and pending arraignment will be met with jubilation on the Left. The reality, however, is that the Left and the Right—the United States as a whole—will suffer the consequences of this blunder of historic proportions. New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg's decision to bring charges will be a moment that historians, and society more broadly, will look back upon as a societal turning point.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office has fired back at House Republicans who are demanding documents and testimony about their case against former President Trump, calling the GOP lawmakers' demands "unlawful political interference" in an ongoing criminal case. In a letter sent to three top House Republican chairmen Friday, Leslie B. Dubeck, the general counsel for Bragg’s office, slammed their "baseless and inflammatory allegations that our investigation is politically motivated." Trump is the first American president to be indicted on criminal charges. A transgender Tennessee mass shooter this week executed three adults and three nine-year-old children at a Nashville private Christian school. Supposedly she left behind her a manifesto justifying her mass murdering. As of this writing, law enforcement officials have declined to make the document public. Yet in about a nano-second after the news was disclosed, the left-wing activist machine kicked in, led by politicians, entertainers, and the media. Three predictable themes surfaced. The first was led by none other than President Joe Biden. He lectured that guns were the cause of the mass deaths, not the free will of a psychopathic killer. Few noted that the shooter illegally purchased firearms by hiding

Thirty years ago, on March 29, 1993, China formally amended its constitution and adopted the "socialist market economy" as the country's economic system. The move marked a significant step in the nation's decades-long economic "reform and opening-up" process, which began in 1978 following years of political, social and economic upheaval caused by the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution. It laid the foundation for the "development of the socialist rule of law," and by incorporating the concept into the constitution, shaped the direction of China's economic development, according to the People's Daily, the newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee.

Federal courts of appeals cannot agree whether climate change lawsuits are governed by state or federal law. Some federal courts have also concluded these cases should proceed in state court, an outcome Judge David Stras – a respected jurist on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit – just last week called "confounding," even if correct. It’s time for the Supreme Court to intervene. For over a century, the Supreme Court has held that lawsuits over air (and water) pollution that crosses state lines must be decided under federal law. This means overreaching states and cities cannot impose their environmental agendas on their neighbors

If Americans are concerned about our enemies getting bolder in their bid to disrupt the U.S.-led world order, they should thank President Joe Biden. Last week, Chinese dictator Xi Jinping traveled to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, the leaders outlined plans to enhance bilateral ties on issues such as trade, energy, and military cooperation. Xi and Putin furthermore agreed to support one another’s “fundamental interests,” specifically on matters concerning “sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and development.” Most notable in the joint statement released by Beijing and Moscow, however, is the expressed goal of creating a “multipolar world order.”
