'$5 million is too little:' Activists
tell California reparations committee

Original Article

Activists on Wednesday demanded that the state of California pay millions of dollars to each Black resident in reparations as a way to make amends for slavery and subsequent discrimination, dismissing the idea of payments of $5 million per person as "nothing" and "too little." The demands were made at an in-person meeting of the California Reparations Task Force, which was created by state legislation signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2020. The committee was hearing comments from the public as it considers final recommendations to submit to the California Legislature, which will then decide whether to implement the measures

Comments:

They also want the Zulu or Swahili language to be taught. English is apparently racism.

There is an article in the Washington Examiner that Reparations for black residents could cost California more than $800 billion. 2.5 times the budget, It's can't be done without total ruin. But I wouldn't put it past the CCP, AKA as the Commiefornia legislature.

These people are not slaves or live among slave owners. The loons in CA have created blood sucking leeches hanging on the teat of the CA taxpayer (and many more hoping for some kind of federal funds to be included). It's a disgusting display on everyone's part. One set of people willing to sale their soul for a payout (which they do not deserve) and politicians willing to pay for votes with other people's money. It is insane. Rational people should flee CA as quickly as possible before you lose everything to someone else. So much scum.

Will they sign a full release and indemnity? No more complaining and they indemnify the rest of society for their future bad actions - eg, crimes - since they have been fully compensated for everything that ever happened that up to now justifies their bad behavior. As release agreements sometimes say we are “released for everything that ever happened or might have happened from the beginning of the world.” If so it might be worth it.

Conduct a campaign to see who is in favor of Reparations. Get people to sign up, gather their contact information. Whoop it up, make a bid deal of it..... Then devise an arrangement where the supporters are designated as the funding sources. "What? You mean WE have to PAY? Not Whitey?!!" I'll bet the number of supporters drops significantly.

I can see it now. To pay these billions of dollars to every Black person in the State, all White citizens will have fled but the state legislature will pass a law to tax anyone who has ever lived in the state going back 60-70 years. Heck, why not tax anyone who has ever visited the state. I don't know how they would enforce that law but being democrats, they'll find a way.

Oil prices soared nearly 6% on Monday after Saudi Arabia and other major oil producers said they will cut production by 1.15 million barrels per day from May until the end of the year. The cuts in oil output by the so-called OPEC+ countries immediately pushed crude costs higher and were expected to boost gas prices in the U.S. and other countries. Higher oil prices also will complicate the efforts by central banks to rein in inflation. "This will create both political waves across Europe and even higher general inflation in the USA, leading to renewed pressure on the Federal

They were followed by right-wing populist party The Finns with 20.1%, while the Social Democrats garnered 19.9%. The Biden administration is preparing to implement a sweeping nationwide ban on commonly used light bulbs as part of its energy efficiency and climate agenda. The regulations, which prohibit retailers from selling incandescent light bulbs, were finalized by the Department of Energy (DOE) in April 2022 and are slated to go into effect on Aug. 1, 2023. The DOE will begin full enforcement of the ban on that date, but it has already urged retailers to begin transitioning away from the light bulb type and, in recent months, begun issuing warning notices to companies. This apparently started back in 2010, though I don’t recall hearing about it until this year. It is, perhaps, somehow appropriate that they assigned this holiday to fall the day before April Fools Day, but that’s a debate for another time. There was some confusion over the name because a group of trans activists had also declared March 31st to be the “transgender day of vengeance.” (That wound up being canceled at the last minute, apparently when people noticed it and started talking about it on social media.)
