Teachers union president Randi Weingarten called for gun confiscation Tuesday, saying the U.S. must follow "what other great democracies" have done to ban guns, following the shooting at a Christian Nashville school.
Weingarten addressed the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Tuesday morning regarding the aftermath of the school shooting that killed three children and three adults. After having a moment of silence for the victims, she reignited calls to ban "assault weapons."
"Today, we renew our call for common sense gun safety legislation, including a ban on assault weapons. This is an epidemic," Weingarten said. She added, "It’s an epidemic that our great nation must solve.

U.S. Marshals assigned to guard Supreme Court justices during the controversy over Roe v. Wade last year were reportedly told not to arrest protesters that gathered outside their private homes.
Last year, individual Supreme Court Justices were targeted by protesters after an illegal leak of a draft decision aiming to overturn Roe v. Wade before it had been officially decided. At the time, even the left-wing Washington Post admitted such protests were likely illegal according to Title 18, Section 1507, of the U.S. Code.

The entire nation is waiting for the day when Governor Ron DeSantis announces whether or not he will be running for president in 2024. The media are definitely on the edge of their seats. Speculation is flying, and so is the chatter concerning how he will stack up against former president Trump. Plenty believe "quite well." Thus, they anticipate an announcement revealing that Governor Ron DeSantis will be running. I don't agree, however. In my opinion, Governor Ron DeSantis will sit 2024 out. No doubt, I am one of the very few,

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) called on Republicans to spend less time on the banning of books in schools and more time stopping gun violence.
Cheney issued her comments in praise of Jenna Bush Hager, the daughter of former President George W. Bush, who said on NBC that Republicans need to worry more about making kids safe.“I have a friend in Nashville. So I knew of one of the little girls. Who is 9. Who went to school yesterday and who didn’t get to come home. So, when Henry came home from work, I said, ‘Did you see this?’ I had to whisper, because I have a 9-year-old,”

I try to bring humor to everything. I’m a comedian. As my wonderful friend and mentor Stephen Kruiser can tell you, comics find humor in the worst of conditions. Not only can I not see the “funny” in the Tennessee shooting, I don’t want to seek it.
The trans movement asked for tolerance, then acceptance. Then they just wanted to use the restroom of their preference for their safety, despite a lack of violence against trans people and a bushel full of trans attacks on kids. We allowed it. I regret that. A lot.

Attorney General Merrick Garland shared on Tuesday his expectations for when a report from John Durham‘s special counsel investigation will be completed, and it doesn’t appear to be that far off in the future.
The rare update on Durham’s inquiry into potential misconduct in the Trump-Russia probe came during testimony before a Senate committee. Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) asked Garland about why former Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann, who was found not guilty of lying to the FBI in a blow to Durham’s investigation, apparently had a badge to get into the bureau’s headquarters in the run-up to the 2016 election.

Award-winning PBS News reporter Jane Ferguson said she was "violently assaulted" by a man on the New York City subway this week, leaving her "ear ringing and face on fire" with a good Samaritan helping get her to safety. "At 6.30pm today I was violently assaulted on the NYC subway. A man walked up to me in a busy rush-hour car and punched me, hard, on the side of the face. I kneeled down on the floor in shock, and steadied myself, unsure what had just happened, my ear ringing and face on fire," Ferguson tweeted on Monday night. "The

WASHINGTON (AP) — Last August, Daysia Holiday decided to try one more time to join the Army.
She’d taken the academic test and failed three times. So, when she was offered a slot in a new Army prep course to help improve her scores and qualify for basic training, she jumped at the chance.
Seven months later, Pvt. 2nd Class Holiday is a proud graduate of Army basic training, and is finishing her advanced instruction at Fort Lee, Virginia, to become a power generation specialist who will maintain engines and other equipment for the service.
Holiday is an early beneficiary of the new program, which gives lower-performing recruits up to 90 days

Department of Homeland Security head Alejandro Mayorkas testified, on Tuesday, before the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding how the Biden administration has been dealing with the border crisis. I think it’s fair to say that it did not go well.He testified a couple of weeks ago before the House and he got caught in a lie there. It didn’t go any better before the Senate.
Mayorkas was ripped apart by the committee which, at this point, has rightfully lost patience with the Biden team’s inability and lack of desire to do anything to deal with the crisis at the border.

Surveillance photographs and video footage shows the 28-year-old transgender suspect who attacked the Nashville Christian school was using a carbine which fires pistol rounds, not an AR-15.
The 28-year-old was armed with three firearms, and police photos of the guns show that an AR-15 was not one them.
The firearms were an AR-pistol, a handgun, and a carbine. The type of carbine possessed by the attacker uses 9mm or .40 caliber handgun rounds.

A Bible college in the United Kingdom has allegedly fired a professor and threatened to report him as a “terrorist” for tweeting against homosexuality.
Aaron Edwards, a theologian at Cliff College in England, was removed from his position after sending the tweet, Fox News reported.
“Homosexuality is invading the church. Evangelicals no longer see the severity of this [because] they’re busy apologizing for their apparently barbaric homophobia, whether or not it’s true,” Edwards posted to Twitter in February.
