Ron DeSantis breaks his silence on a possible
Trump indictment

After remaining silent over the weekend, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took shots at the "Soros-funded prosecutor" in Manhattan involved in an ongoing hush money case against former President Donald Trump. “I have no interest in getting involved in some manufactured circus by some Soros-DA,” DeSantis said at a news conference Monday, referring to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. “He’s trying to do a political spectacle. He’s trying to virtue signal for his base. I’ve got real issues I got to deal with here in the state of Florida.”

not at all interested in what desantis has to say regarding our President - desantis has taken the paul ryan pledge to destroy our President for some reason or another which makes no sense and desantis seems to forget that our President gave him a resounding vote of confidence in his gubernatorial venture and that, sure as hell, didn't hurt desantis but politicians are so fickle they think because they're elected to the office it was all because of them ... in his case it took a lot Donald J. Trump to vault desantis into the governors office

I'm okay with Ron's take on this one. I think he's pretty clear that he thinks the NYC prosecutors are on a political witch hunt but he doesn't have a dog in that fight. Try that in Florida, and I think you'd find out that Ron DOES have a dog in that fight and he's ready to rumble. I'd like to think that wiser heads will prevail in NYC (silly me, I know) and the DA and AG move on and pretend that they prosecute real crime in New York before everyone with any sense leaves,

#5~ “He also said that Trump paid off a porn star to keep her mouth shut. Also true.” / An article published yesterday (3-19-23) provided Facebook screen photographs of text from 2017 between Stormy Daniels and another person that has since been deleted from Facebook. In that written exchange, Stormy Daniels wrote that she never had sex with Donald Trump—she had a business conversation with him and that she could have made a lot more money than what was being talked about. President Trump has denied the allegation of having had sex with her and Stormy Daniels denied having sex with President Trump. The allegation is not true. #16~ “Trump acolytes are so freaking weird. ... You all should feel foolish.” / There has been an erroneous perception of MAGA supporters reacting to verbiage from Governor DeSantis; that erroneous perception is in attributing their reaction to specific verbiage of the moment when the reality is, MAGA supporters are reacting with disappointment to the totality of actions, inactions and auras exhibited over a period of time. Many MAGA supporters were very impressed with Governor DeSantis and viewed him as an eventual presidential contender, however, recent actions, inactions and auras exhibited by him suggest he may be under the powerful influence of well-known political consultants and families harboring disdain for President Trump with the goal of preventing President Trump from winning another presidential election. MAGA supporters appreciate President Trump for a vast number of reasons not the least of which is being a man true to his word, being trustworthy.

#18~ Brevity. Late hour. One example, evasiveness about being a candidate for the 2024 presidential election while the aura surrounding him suggests he does intend to enter the race. FUNDING – President Trump’s funding is primarily from small contributions from small donors. Governor DeSantis is “funded primarily by a small group of exclusive Wall Street corporations, billionaires and hedge fund managers, and almost no small donors.” LINCOLN PROJECT – Van Jones, Paul Ryan, Karl Rove, Mika Brzezinski agree that Governor DeSantis is the answer to the Republican Party suggests possible “establishment” ties. MAR-A-LAGO – Other than releasing two prerecorded statements, Governor DeSantis kept silent on the raid and avoided media appearances which suggests political management. He emerged five days later at a TPUSA tour in Arizona. PRESIDENCY - David Frum endorsed Governor DeSantis as the acceptable Republican candidate. Mr. Frum is a tenured member of the Republican professional political class. PRESIDENTIAL RACE – Purchasing national television campaign ads is expensive as was done for ads on Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity broadcasts suggests Governor DeSantis has officially entered the 2024 presidential race.

Well # 19, you and some others on this board are going to be in a real political pickle when Trump (God bless him) loses the 2024 election or otherwise leaves the political scene. You know, you are free to nitpick any public figure (such as DeSantis) to death. But if you do, don't be surprised or distressed to find that there is a lack of leadership on the conservative political scene. I have been watching politics for over half a century, and IMO the Political Purity Police are usually their own worst enemies.

#21~ People of faith know that God selects heads of nations; sometimes God gives nations the individual they want rather than the individual they need. People of faith know that God’s ways are not man’s ways. If President Trump becomes the 2024 Republican presidential nominee and loses the election either through lack of votes or theft, the loss would be devastating and disappointing but faith and trust in God allows them to go forward and try to make the best of whatever is to come. As for nitpicking, that is a misnomer; focused observation of actions and words is necessary to make informed decisions and does not constitute nitpicking. Conservatives have been deceived by politicians exuding an aura of being their own person but in reality are beholden to outside influences and resources. Regarding being “surprised or distressed to find there is a lack of leadership on the conservative political scene” is not quite accurate. Most Conservatives are savvy individuals so being surprised with such a situation is not likely. Initially, Governor DeSantis appeared to be a viable and welcome Conservative candidate for 2028 but has now become an uncertainty; time will tell if he is his own man or beholden to others.
