New chief judge oversees Trump grand juries
as courts face partisan tests

The chief federal judge in Washington overseeing potentially historic, behind-closed-doors disputes in grand jury investigations involving former president Donald Trump and his political allies passed the gavel to her successor Friday, handing off leadership of the high-profile court in the nation’s capital. Chief U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell is hardly a household name, though her rulings in the politically charged cases in her court could be consequential. Her successor, James E. Boasberg, may be even less well known outside of Washington, but now will decide how far special counsel Jack Smith can go in investigating or questioning the former president.

Comments:

This is the Left’s version of rhese judges and what is going on. Details on judges. The Left’s erroneous contention that J6 was about “overturning the election” rather than just wanting to get it right.

These attacks on Trump are actually attacks on anyone who voted for him. The object of this exercise is to make sure we cannot vote for him again. They are that frightened of him. We saw what he did as President. No wars, a great economy, border security, treaties in the Middle east, a strong military, the Police were being backed,. What we got in his place was just the opposite of all thing mentioned above. That is why they are frightened.

The new judge was appointed by Obama. We will see if Justice is truly blind or is merely a part of the political apparatus. My bet is on the latter. If that turns out to be correct, we are no longer a Republic, nor a Democracy, but an authoritarian Banana Republic.

Nearly 200 more banks could be vulnerable to the same type of risk that collapsed Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) earlier this month, according to a recently published study. There are 186 banks across the United States that could collapse if half of their respective uninsured depositors withdraw their funds, researchers with the Social Science Research Network found. Deposits at member banks of up to $250,000 are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., although the agency agreed to insure depositors’ funds far above that after SVB’s collapse this month. “Combined, losses and uninsured leverage provide incentives for an SVB uninsured depositor run,” an abstract of the paper reads

A Cornell Law School professor has launched the Equal Protection Project, a network of attorneys battling discrimination against whites occurring under so-called Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) mandates. Professor William A. Jacobson, founder of the Legal Insurrection Foundation and Criticalrace.org, started his latest project, EqualProtect.org, in response to a disturbing trend that ditches the American idea that people should be treated equally, without regard to race or ethnicity. “We reject the idea that the society we live in is systemically racist and that therefore racism is the default explanation for everything that happens,” Jacobson told The Epoch Times.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) purchased data from tracking companies to monitor compliance with lockdowns, according to contracts with the firms. The CDC paid one firm $420,000 and another $208,000. That bought access to location data from at least 55 million cellphone users. The contracts, approved under emergency review due to the COVID-19 pandemic, were aimed at providing the CDC “with the necessary data to continue critical emergency response functions related to evaluating the impact of visits to key points of interest, stay at home orders, closures, re-openings and other public heath communications related to mask mandate, and other merging research areas on community transmission of SARS-CoV-2,”

News Thursday of payments from a Chinese Communist Party-linked company to members of President Joe Biden’s family amounts to a potential case for bribery, an impeachable offense under the Constitution. The House Oversight Committee revealed that in 2017, China’s State Energy HK Limited sent $3 million to a company controlled by family associate Robert Walker, who in turn distributed funds to members of Biden’s family: his surviving son, Hunter; his brother, James; his daughter-in-law, Hallie; and an unknown “Biden.” State Energy HK Limited was linked to CEFC China Energy, whose chairman, Ye Jianming, did business with Hunter Biden. Last weekend, I blogged about the destruction of Roald Dahl’s children’s literature in the name of wokeness. The outrage and backlash were so profound that Penquin decided that it will continue to publish the actual works of Dahl alongside the new non-Dahl versions—though it seems the completely rewritten texts (including the addition of entirely new sentences, paragraphs, etc.) will still be published as if they were his original works. They are not. (snip)Penguin’s Puffin Books decided it would be a grand idea to destroy the delightful children’s literature of Dahl at the urging of a person described as a “non-binary, asexual, polyamorous relationship anarchist who is on the autism spectrum.”
