The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) purchased data from tracking companies to monitor compliance with lockdowns, according to contracts with the firms. The CDC paid one firm $420,000 and another $208,000. That bought access to location data from at least 55 million cellphone users. The contracts, approved under emergency review due to the COVID-19 pandemic, were aimed at providing the CDC “with the necessary data to continue critical emergency response functions related to evaluating the impact of visits to key points of interest, stay at home orders, closures, re-openings and other public heath communications related to mask mandate, and other merging research areas on community transmission of SARS-CoV-2,”

Comments:

The Epoch Times has the contracts.

I wish the article had explained how these tracking companies have access to mobile phone data use. It seems the government allowed this due to the pandemic emergency, but that is not spelled out. The danger is this may some day have other uses for totalitarian control of the population.

Many of us KNEW this could ( and would) happen. Any technology that would be good and helpful will be used by government to destroy us.

The intel agencies can get cell phone records at any time for any reason. The end result is that we paid to have ourselves spied upon. The CDC is asking for your trust...

Remember Hogan's Heroes? All of the jokes they made about the Gestapo and German justice can now be applied to our system of 'justice'....and it ain't no joke! I remember my father, a WW2 veteran, saying that nothing like that would ever happen in this country, which is a good example of why you should never tempt lightning to strike!

I have been attending Church services every Sunday since 2016 (as I remember). I heard that there was a lockdown. I wonder what the lockdown people locked down. I believe that God is a lot more important than the government.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is demanding answers from a New York district attorney reportedly planning to arrest former President Donald Trump on March 21. The district attorney in question, Alvin Bragg of Manhattan, is reportedly planning to arrest the former president over an alleged “hush money” payment during the 2016 election. Trump is accused of furnishing money to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to hide allegations of an affair between the two, which Trump denies having. (snip) In his letter to Bragg (pdf), Jordan—joined by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil (R-Wis.)—called the impending arrest “an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority.”

Stunningly, the Polish Ambassador to France Jan Emeryk Rościszewski said yesterday: “Either Ukraine will defend its independence today, or we will be forced to enter into this conflict,” sending a clear message that NATO will enter the war against Russia if Ukraine loses ground. Rościszewski essentially said the quiet part out loud, and that public statement immediately caused the NATO allies to recoil. The EU NATO allies were not recoiling due to the substance of what he said, but rather because he said it publicly. Keep in mind, Jan Emeryk Rościszewski has been Poland’s Ambassador to France for about a year, and before that he was the Chairman of

Nearly 200 more banks could be vulnerable to the same type of risk that collapsed Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) earlier this month, according to a recently published study. There are 186 banks across the United States that could collapse if half of their respective uninsured depositors withdraw their funds, researchers with the Social Science Research Network found. Deposits at member banks of up to $250,000 are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., although the agency agreed to insure depositors’ funds far above that after SVB’s collapse this month. “Combined, losses and uninsured leverage provide incentives for an SVB uninsured depositor run,” an abstract of the paper reads

The outrage and backlash were so profound that Penquin decided that it will continue to publish the actual works of Dahl alongside the new non-Dahl versions—though it seems the completely rewritten texts (including the addition of entirely new sentences, paragraphs, etc.) will still be published as if they were his original works.
