Matthew Morales boarded the Metro Red Line at MacArthur Park as classical music blared over the station loudspeakers. It was rush hour on a Tuesday afternoon, and Morales made his way to a back corner seat and unfolded a tiny piece of foil with several blue shards of fentanyl. As the train started west, he heated the aluminum with a lighter and sucked in the smoke through a pipe fashioned from a ballpoint pen. Doors opened and closed. A few passengers filed in and out. A grain of the opioid fell to the floor. He concentrated on trying to pick it up, then lost track, as his body went limp. His shoulders

Fentanyl is one of the best thing too come around in a while... It is slowly thinning the herd of the scum who use it. It is self defeating and taking much of the problems with it. On the other hand, Narcan may be the worst...It prolongs the usage and doubles the profits of the drug dealers. Sometimes things that are really bad on an individual basis are really good for society large and vice versa. I think having a controlled area where addicts can go and use, all drugs should be given away free but only used at the controlled site. People found high on the streets can be taken there, to overcome the effects or continue to oblivion. Results...Cleaner , safer cities, fewer gangs and drug dealers, eventually fewer users!

I do not understand why people are willing to live in a community like LA or any other large city with crime, drug use, expensive, congested, etc. It looks like a hellhole, disgusting, dirty and riddled with crime. We get one shot in life, get the heck out of there.

Every talking head panel takes reports like this and says we have to reduce demand and then concludes it can't be done. Same with supply. But what if we drive supply through the roof? Manufacture double, triple the cartels current volume, lower prices and drive them out of business economically. Users are going to use, just take the profit out of it.

Fentanyl is the next generation medweapon in the global population control agenda. This stuff is killing off people by the hundreds and thousands. It is continuing where the corona virus and vaccines left off. Thus saving Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for years to come not to mention the environment and the planet's resources.

FTA:During the final three months of last year, LAPD arrested 49 people on the Red Line for drug-related offenses. As of mid-February, only one of those arrests resulted in a criminal filing That's a big part of the problem. There is no fear of being prosecuted. The comments attached to the original article also highlight a lack of fare enforcement. Druggies and homeless ride the trains all hours of the day and night. Many pass out/fall asleep or harrass paying customers. But libs will keep pouring millions of dollars into the system.

NEW YORK — Eleven of the biggest banks in the country announced a $30 billion rescue package for First Republic Bank on Thursday, in an effort to prevent the California-based bank from becoming the third bank to fail in less than a week. First Republic serves a similar clientele as Silicon Valley Bank, which failed Friday after depositors withdrew about $40 billion. It appears that First Republic, which had deposits totaling $176.4 billion as of Dec. 31, was facing a similar crisis. In a statement, the group of banks confirmed that other unnamed banks had seen large amounts of withdrawals of uninsured deposits, which

As with the rest of the United States armed forces, the Air Force missed its recruiting goals in 2022 and they are on track to fall short again this year by at least 10%. This is a particularly dangerous time to be understaffed when so many of our resources are going toward training and equipping the Ukrainian military and we’re teetering on the edge of possible conflicts with Russia and/or China. So what are our flyboys (and ladies) to do? Whoever is currently in charge of this problem inside the Pentagon thinks they’ve struck on the answer. We clearly need more diversity, equity and inclusion! With that in mind,

First Republic Bank executives quietly sold nearly $12 million worth of its stock in just the past three months, according to the Wall Street Journal. Executive Chairman James Herbert II sold the most of any of the other insiders, off-loading a whopping $4.5 million worth of shares since the start of the year. In all, four of the struggling bank's top executives sold $11.8 million worth of stock so far this year, at prices averaging just below $130 a share, the Journal found. Some of these sales came just days before the bank started facing liquidity troubles, as panicked investors sought to get their money back following the fall

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen admitted during a Thursday Congressional hearing that Chinese Communist Party-linked businesses that had deposits in Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) will be made whole by the American banking system. Senator James Lankford (R., Okla.) pressed Yellen on the matter during a Senate Finance Committee hearing held days after Silicon Valley Bank collapsed. “It has been reported publicly that SVB had a large number of Chinese investors that are there, including some companies that were directly connected to the Chinese Communist Party,” Lankford said. “So what I’m asking is: will my banks in Oklahoma pay a special assessment to be able to make Chinese investors whole in Silicon Valley Bank?”

First Republic Bank, facing a crisis of confidence from investors and customers, is actively discussing options for a lifeline — including a takeover, according to the Wall Street Journal. Participating in the discussions Thursday are massive Wall Street banks, including JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley, the Journal reported. A First Republic spokesman declined to comment to CNN. Both Fitch Ratings and S&P Global Ratings downgraded First Republic Bank's credit rating on Wednesday on concerns that depositors could pull their cash from the bank. That sent shares plunging 26% Thursday, and the stock tripped several automatic circuit breakers designed to prevent shares from crashing.

The U.S. military on Thursday morning released dramatic video that it said showed a Russian fighter jet intercepting and then colliding with the American MQ-9 "Reaper" drone that crashed into the Black Sea on Tuesday. The U.S. has accused Russia of operating its warplane in an "unsafe and unprofessional" manner during the encounter near Ukraine's Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula. On Wednesday, a senior Russian official said Moscow would try to recover the wreckage of the drone. U.S. Army Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters the unmanned aerial vehicle had likely broken during the crash and whatever debris was left likely

In a joint press conference with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Wednesday, General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, attempted to deescalate when asked if Russia’s downing of a U.S. drone was an act of war. Both Austin and Milley committed to continue flying and operating wherever international law allows, calling upon Russian leaders to operate their military aircraft in a safe, professional, and nonaggressive manner. The incident Tuesday involved a Russian Su-27 aircraft striking the propeller of a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone, which U.S. officials said was on a routine mission in international airspace when two Russian jets attempted to intercept it. Ron DeSantis is causing waves after answering a questionnaire on the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Fox News host Tucker Carlson sent the inquiry to all of the announced and presumed 2024 Republican presidential candidates, asking them what their views on the current war are. DeSantis bucked the establishment trend on both sides of the aisle and didn’t spew proclamations about defending democracy (which is definitively not why we are involved in Ukraine). Instead, he pointedly said it is not in US interests to become “further entangled” in the fight, which he described as a “territorial dispute.”

San Francisco residents lined up at a city board meeting last night to share their full-throated support of a wide-eyed reparations plan that would award every black resident $5million, wipe their personal debt, guarantee $97,000 incomes for 250 years and $1 homes. But no one at the emotional meeting - where residents burst into song and begged to be made 'whole' - asked how the struggling, debt-addled city might pay for it. Reparations are being considered in various Democratic cities around America as a means of providing compensation to the descendants of enslaved African-Americans.

After months of near-silence and innuendo, Florida Gov. and GOP presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis decided to speak about Ukraine, removing all doubt about his position. While his statement on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show makes a handful of valid points, it is ridden with a fundamental misunderstanding of the war and US geopolitical interests. First, the good. DeSantis is correct to criticize the Biden administration’s lack of clear objectives in its support for “as long as it takes,” which is a recipe for a long and intractable conflict — which Americans would be right to reject.

The City Council of Washington, D.C., recently approved legislation to reduce penalties for violent crimes, despite a recent surge of murders, carjackings, and robberies in the city. It was in keeping with similar measures approved in recent years in cities around the country to defund the police, reduce cash bail, and eliminate penalties for minor crimes like shoplifting and drug possession. Congress rightly overruled the measure under the city's home rule charter, but it was a sign of what's to come from D.C. city government.

Some electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers are scrapping the AM radio from their cars, claiming safety concerns. Although conservative talk radio dominates AM radio ratings, it is also considered a critical safety tool, as it is one of the primary ways that federal, state, and local officials communicate with the public during natural disasters and other emergencies. Automakers such as Ford and Tesla have ditched the AM radio from their newer EV models, arguing that the motors on EVs interfere with AM frequencies, creating buzzing and signal fading, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

And wartime, he noted at the end of the segment, leads to extraordinary suppression of political dissent.
