Republicans hold a dour outlook on the country and prioritize finding a 2024 nominee who shares their views on major issues over one with a strong chance to defeat President Joe Biden, according to a new CNN poll of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents conducted by SSRS. The survey suggests sharp divisions within the potential GOP electorate by age, education, ideology and geography, as well as between Donald Trump backers locked into their choice and a more movable group in search of an alternative. Just 30% of all Republicans and Republican-leaners say the country's best days are still ahead of it -- a dramatic shift from 2019, when Trump

Good. We should vote for people we like and stop listening to the msm who tells us who can win. The same people who said Hillary has a 99% chance of winning in 16. I never understood why anyone votes for someone they don't actually like. The lesser evil is still evil. You get what you deserve when you vote for bad people.

That's because the GOP base has learned from its mistakes. We were told Dole could win McCain could win, Romney could win (and thankfully those 3 did not win). Listening to pundits like Rove or pollsters or most media is lazy and usually wrong. Think for yourself and stop believing that just because a candidate has the letter after their name makes them qualified or a good person.

I'm in my late 60s, and doubt I'll ever see another Republican president in my lifetime. Republicans sat back and let the liberal education establishment indoctrinate two generations of students into liberalism and socialism. We're reaping the bitter harvest of that inaction. It will only get worse.

CNN? #crew the communist news network! They've been huge liars since they came on cable in the 80s. It's called the PRIMARIES folks. Whether choosing a presidential candidate, senator, or representative the primaries are where we SHOULD be taking out the trash. And yes, I mean RINOS! The people "searching" for an alternate to conservatives like Trump are not too bright in my estimation. Why would I say something so abrasive? Because, if you don't choose the conservative in any given PRIMARY, you end up with what we have, and had, for a long time. A buncha democommies in cahoots with a buncha rinos, and a country on the verge of collapse. Then again, all this is a moot point until voting fraud is fixed, and I'm not seeing/hearing much going on in that area.

In a joint press conference with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Wednesday, General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, attempted to deescalate when asked if Russia’s downing of a U.S. drone was an act of war. Both Austin and Milley committed to continue flying and operating wherever international law allows, calling upon Russian leaders to operate their military aircraft in a safe, professional, and nonaggressive manner. The incident Tuesday involved a Russian Su-27 aircraft striking the propeller of a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone, which U.S. officials said was on a routine mission in international airspace when two Russian jets attempted to intercept it. It was rush hour on a Tuesday afternoon, and Morales made his way to a back corner seat and unfolded a tiny piece of foil with several blue shards of fentanyl. Ron DeSantis is causing waves after answering a questionnaire on the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Fox News host Tucker Carlson sent the inquiry to all of the announced and presumed 2024 Republican presidential candidates, asking them what their views on the current war are. DeSantis bucked the establishment trend on both sides of the aisle and didn’t spew proclamations about defending democracy (which is definitively not why we are involved in Ukraine). Instead, he pointedly said it is not in US interests to become “further entangled” in the fight, which he described as a “territorial dispute.”

U.S. bank stocks jumped on Tuesday, recovering some ground after the failure of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank triggered heavy selling by investors who were already anxious about the impact on lenders of rising interest rates. Worries about potential contagion had also slammed bank shares in Asia and Europe as investors re-examined their risks, despite assurances from U.S. President Joe Biden and other global policymakers that the financial system is safe. An indicator of credit risk among euro zone banks hit its highest since mid-July, while ratings agency Moody's cut its outlook on the U.S. banking system to negative from stable "to reflect the rapid deterioration in the operating environment".
