Where’s your money going? An anniversary
breakdown of the $113B in taxpayer funds
for Ukraine

When Russian President Vladimir Putin rolled across his border and into Ukraine one year ago, most Americans, along with most of the world, were horrified. Putin, most everyone agrees, is a very bad man, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was an almost perfect representation of the brave underdog we Americans love so much to champion. So, as Americans, we wanted to do what, despite what the current administration would have you believe, we as Americans always want to do: We wanted to help. It wasn’t a political thing. Republicans and Democrats agreed: This was an American thing.

A HUGE portion of that "$113" is BS accounting.....like saying a armored personnel carrier that was built in 1967, used for two decades and then put into storage is worth what it cost to buy new. Try that with one of your cars and see what the IRS says about it. Much of the equipment we gave them is worth far, far less than the dollar amounts that these aid packages claim. That is just accounting foolishness. And we do this all the time with other countries, too. Our old M113 APCs, designed in the 1950s and used starting early in Vietnam, have been superceded in the USArmy for decades since the Bradley fighting vehicles took over most of the roles of the APCs. Giving them to other countries is considered by the US Army to be cheaper than paying to have them cut up for scrap. And a lot of the munitions have a definite shelf life. If you buy an artillery shell in 1990 for $3,000 and it has a shelf life of 35 years, and it is 2022, so the shell is 32/35ths of it's way to a burn pit in the desert....is it still actually worth $3,000? Is the shell worth it's new price all the way out until it hits 35 years and 1 day and then it has a negative value? (It costs money to ship and destroy safely). Don't try that with your machinery in your factory when valuing them for the IRS. The value of your stuff in industry is depreciated over time. We are giving away a lot of fully depreciated equipent that we'll never use again, and nearly aged out ammo. Certainly much of the equipment is relatively new, and much of the ammo is, too. But - this stuff goes bad on the shelf, too. We've given away a hell of a lot of our old equipment to various countries around the world....dozens, literally, of different countries operate our old M113 APCs, and we still have many in storage. Seems like a good thing to let someone use them to fight for their own freedom.

CPAC is on again, and there are a lot of folks gathering and speaking at the event. But few bring the fire and the humor more than Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) who is known for his great wit. We’ve seen that one of his great talents is that he doesn’t hold back on what he thinks and what he has to say, as when he recently lit up a “climate” witness he was grilling. Kennedy let the audience know on Thursday that he had a few things to say about the truth. Without the truth, he said, we certainly not thrive as human beings.

Alex Murdaugh has been found guilty of murdering his wife and son after a jury of seven men and five women spent less than three hours deliberating. The disgraced legal scion, 54, showed no emotion on his face but was shaking as the verdict was read out at the Colleton County courthouse in Walterboro, South Carolina, following six weeks of harrowing testimony. His only surviving son Buster was stony-faced and put his head in his hands. Murdaugh turned to face the 26-year-old and his sister Lynn as he was cuffed and led away. Neither his younger brother John Marvin, who testified earlier this week, nor his elder sibling Randy were in court.

WASHINGTON — Two Russian billionaires who have managed to dodge US sanctions over Moscow’s year-old invasion of Ukraine went property shopping with Hunter Biden, dined with then-Vice President Joe Biden, and discussed “favors” they might swap, sources tell The Post. New details of Joe and Hunter Biden’s association with Yelena Baturina and Vladimir Yevtushenkov flesh out tantalizing clues from the first son’s abandoned laptop. The sources spoke with The Post this week after the duo was yet again spared a fresh batch of sanctions announced by the Treasury Department Friday. “I think it’s very fishy,” said one source who had firsthand knowledge of the business relationship between Hunter Biden and Yevtushenkov —

The bill put the district under the control of a state board of term-limited members recently announced by DeSantis. In response to this move, Olbermann insisted that Disney should fire back by moving its massive park and "burning" the remains.
