CNN Hit by Yet Another Scandal, Connected

At this point, I have to think that CNN CEO Chris Licht must be somewhere behind the scenes, tearing his hair out. Because if he hoped to change the network back into a news network (and I say if), he seems to be being thwarted at every turn by the bad personnel with whom he has been left to deal. Licht fired a bunch of them, including Brian Stelter and John Harwood. But the ratings for the network have been the worst in nine years (Snip) there’s yet another scandal popping off now at CNN involving the top producer on Jake Tapper’s show.

Jeesch, don't these guys and gals take annual Management Harassment Training, where superiors dating subordinates are shied upon with dire consequences. Guess not. The Tapper must have known but looked the other way. CNN has not hit rock bottom just yet. When the Sour Lemon is cast out into the hinterlands, that will be rock bottom.

CNN needs to channel Henry Ford at the end of the Model T run. He shut down the factories for a year and then released a new car, the Model A, a big improvement which sold like crazy.

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Thursday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that the Georgia investigation of former President Donald Trump’s Jan. 2, 2021 call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger will likely result in indictments. Schiff said, “Well, I give a lot of credit to the Fulton County DA. I think she’s been really courageous and has moved with swiftness to conduct this investigation.” He continued, “When a prosecutor talks about charging decisions, I tend to infer from that suggests someone will be charged. Often when there is a decision not to prosecute, there really isn’t a public statement.

Buttigieg said too many construction crews have workers who “don’t look like” the communities they work in at a Monday panel at the National Association of Counties Conference. Rogan said the secretary displayed a lack of awareness on the effective work of construction workers during a discussion about the Feb. 3 train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. “Do you know that he gave a speech the other day about how there’s too many white people working in construction sites, where these construction sites are set up in these communities,

The White House heavily controlled which reporters had access to President Joe Biden’s remarks on “aerial objects” Thursday, telling the media to “comply,” and asking reporters — including the Daily Caller’s correspondent — to leave the room. Biden’s remarks were scheduled for 2:00 p.m., and reporters were notified less than an hour before that they would need a “pre-credentialed” pass to attend the press conference. Biden’s team walked the press over to the South Court Auditorium, where the remarks were to be delivered, at approximately 1:50 p.m. When reporters entered the auditorium, White House staff approached every correspondent and pressed each of them to show an email containing a “pre-credential,”

One of the UFOs shot down last weekend by the US Air Force with a $400,000 missile may have simply been a $12 balloon belonging to an Illinois enthusiast club, a report said. The Northern Illinois Bottlecap Balloon Brigade told Aviation Week on Thursday that it fears one of its diligently-tracked gasbags that recently went missing was mistaken as the mystery object taken out by the military over Canada on Saturday. The Pico Balloon — a silver-coated, cylindrically shaped object — reported its last position at 38,910 ft. off the west coast of Alaska on Friday.

NASA on Thursday confirmed that a loud boom heard over McAllen, Texas was the sound of a meteoroid entering the Earth's atmosphere, and breaking up as it scattered over the area. The rock was 2ft in diameter and weighed 1,000lbs, NASA said before it broke into small pieces and scattered across the area.  No damage was reported, but terrified locals assumed it was an earthquake and shared stories on social media of their homes shaking with the impact. NASA said that anyone who thinks they have found a fragment must contact the Smithsonian. They reassured people that the space rocks posed little threat to the public.

Election denier Kari Lake promised to take her gubernatorial defeat lawsuit to the Arizona's supreme court after it was tossed for the second time on Thursday - less than two months after it was rejected by a Maricopa County judge. The ruling from the Arizona Court of Appeals - the second and penultimate tier in the state's court system - came as the latest defeat for Lake, who in December lost the race to be Arizona's next governor by about 17,000 votes. Immediately chalking up the loss to voter fraud, the 53-year-old former Phoenix journalist filed a suit alleging that problems with printers and election day protocol cost her a victory

WASHINGTON — President Biden stormed out of a press availability Thursday afternoon when asked if his ability to deal with China was “compromised” by his family’s business interests — complaining journalists were not being “polite” and telling them to “give me a break” before walking away. Republicans say Biden can’t properly confront China on issues ranging from fentanyl and COVID-19 origins to a surveillance balloon that traversed US airspace this month because of his family’s financial links to Chinese state entities. “Is your ability to deal with China compromised by your family’s business relationships in China, President Biden?” a reporter for The Post asked

President Joe Biden is a 'healthy' and 'vigorous' 80-year-old who is fit for office, his doctor said after his annual physical on Thursday at Walter Reed. White House physician Colonel Kevin O'Connor provided an update on his health amid concerns over his age as he prepares to announce a 2024 run for president. The results were largely unchanged from last time, aside from a lesion on his chest that has been sent for cancer screening.  O'Connor said Biden's gait 'remains stiff', but insisted it has not worsened since the last examination.

Joe Biden has finally been forced into making comments on the three “objects” that the U.S. shot down over the past weekend. What’s been glaring has been Biden’s failure to respond or speak to the shootdowns and the many questions that the American people have had about the actions. We heard from the Secretary of Defense. We heard from the NORAD Commander. We heard from White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre who had trouble describing what NORAD was and called Canada, “Canadia.” But we didn’t hear from Biden. So on Thursday, he finally said he would be delivering remarks on the subject.

The nation’s oldest president in the history of American presidents shuffled off to the doctor today after delaying his annual physical evaluation for weeks, and according to President Barack Obama’s former doctor, the White House will “sugarcoat” anything the physicians might find. Dr. David Scheiner served as Obama’s doctor for more than 20 years before he ascended to the White House. Given that President Biden is 80 years old, he says his age is a major health concern. But don’t expect to learn anything when Biden’s results are released on Thursday. That’s not how the White House handles these things, Scheiner said. (Tweet/Video)

The environmental disaster taking place in Ohio from a Norfolk Southern derailed train should outrage both sides of the political aisle. After the smoke clears, investigations will take place and most likely will show that there is plenty of blame to be shared, including all levels of government and both political parties. But at the moment, the complete lack of any significant response by the Biden administration is appalling and begs the question why an administration that is hostile to the free market and supports extreme measures to fight climate change is missing in action?

It isn’t a civil rights cause, it isn’t a new form of free expression, it isn’t a natural societal evolution. It’s insanity. And facilitating it, as in the case of the supposed “medical professionals” increasingly pushing it on children, is evil. We’re seeing this in more and more vivid detail as the transgender craze — and it is a craze, make no mistake about that — broadens and touches more and more lives. It’s becoming harder and harder to sustain the myth that chemical castrations and hormone baths and disfiguring surgeries lead to normal lives.

Congressional Democrats rolled out a spending proposal aimed at closing the racial wealth gap on Wednesday, which would give at least $1,000 to every American born after 2005. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) introduced the American Opportunity Accounts Act, which would federalize the use of 'baby bonds' for the country's youth to help fight wealth inequality. The program would be funded by raising estate and inheritance taxes. It would result in a major redistribution of wealth to middle and lower-income Americans.
