Leaders in multiple states and cities are embracing efforts to bar police from pulling drivers over for certain less-severe traffic violations, a move that some experts believe endangers public safety.
Lawmakers in Washington state are pushing a plan that would forbid police traffic stops conducted to address some lower-level traffic lawbreaking, and Oregon has already established a similar policy, while San Francisco is considering a city-wide plan of this kind after Los Angeles and Minneapolis instituted their own. Such restrictions could effectively impede enforcement against more serious offenses and put innocent civilians at risk, according to experts who spoke to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

TONS of big arrests happen from minor traffic stops.

So, traffic laws will no longer be enforced....police might run across criminals and arrest them. The Dem's can't have their most important constituents - CRIMINALS - bothered by law enforcement.

I feel really sad for any law-abiding citizens in these places where brain-dead lie-berals are coddling the criminals. But as far as bad things happening to lie-berals living there, you elect these vile evil idiots, so you have the blood of innocent victims on your hands every bit as much as the legislators and city council idiots that made these laws!!!!!

Hundreds of times a day drivers are stopped for a routine traffic violation and the cop discovers an outstanding arrest warrant for the driver. The Dems are all in on empowering these felons to avoid the law. All this does is endanger honest citizens. It’s like they want some sort of dystopian and lawless nightmare of a country. Maybe they do then they can lock down the country for “our own good”. Buy more ammo, folks. It’s available online now at much better pricing.

If police don't pull over drivers for little things like expired vehicle inspection, why would people get their vehicle inspected? Then, of course, there would be a lot of unsafe vehicles driving around. If they don't enforce stop signs, why come to a complete stop? Same with speed limits. It's not just the big crimes, but keeping society running smoothly.

Part of the Great Reset - local law enforcement is no longer able to serve and protect citizens, it then becomes Federalized and everything is at the behest of the government. Agenda 2030, the Great Reset is a document well worth reading. Easy to find online and explains so much of today's lunacy.

TK's majority 20-year (1969-89) career with the LAPD was in Traffic Enforcement. He spent his night shifts patrolling the city's south side; Central, Wilshire, 77th, and Southwest Divisions. He is familiar with "diversity". He self-describes his God-given vocation in life as the sheepdog looking after the flock. He is all about safe in little things means safe in big things. He is a certified expert accident reconstructionist from Northwestern University's Traffic Institute. He became part of a 24-hour on-call team that responded to traffic accidents involving four or more fatalities. (It happens more than you want to know, and every New Year's Eve.) In the late 70's he pretty much wrote the traffic safety manual for the Department. He taught regular in-service traffic safety courses to officers refreshing their academy training. Investigating accidents where officers were killed ripped his heart out.
The accident that really ripped his heart out happened when he was about thirty. It was late afternoon and they saw a drunk run over a four-year-old girl. She was hurt so badly he knew they couldn't wait for the ambulance. He picked her up in his arms and ran to his cruiser. She was dead when he laid her on the backseat. He was walking back to his partner, who was starting to handcuff the drunk, when the drunk slurred out, "That little girl shouldn't have run out in the street!" TK lost it and threw the drunk on the ground. Before TK could land a blow, his partner grabbed his arm. The neighborhood had gathered by then and they urged the partner to let TK go. I have only heard that story one time. I have never known him to tell it to another person.
He was livid when he found out what the City of Los Angeles is doing about the traffic enforcement laws. Safe in little things means safe in big things. The chaos is being done on purpose. The people will cry out for order. The people will get order. Soviet style order; only this time it will be digitized and offer social credit incentives. But that's another topic for another day.
Stay safe out there. It's not Sgt. Joe Friday's city any more.

And that is why every law-abiding citizen needs to be armed. We need to protect ourselves because there are not enough police to protect us anymore.

You could blow Washington, Oregon and San Francisco to hell and gone and no one would care.

So this is Defang the Police?
Don't worry about it. Soon, no one in their right mind will want to be a cop in a city run by liberals.

I have been driving around for 10 years with 10 big cracks in my truck windshield as a result of CA roads being covered with loose rocks that fall off from dump trucks, seat belts don't work. Once in a while someone yells out "You're right tail light is out". OK, thanks
They put giant humps in all the roads to slow people down - unnecessary, because CA "roads" are really just stitched-together craters.
There is no traffic enforcement in CA except stop light cameras. .
i say give law enforcement officers any excuse to stop & frisk #BurnLootMurder, illegal alien drug runner, and #Antifa vehicles. They're not hard to pick out from normal traffic.

Good. Grind off their fangs. In my cop days we would use any excuse to make a stop. License plate light, drifting over the double yellow line, whatever. It was just to stop someone without legitimate probable cause to see what else they might be up to. Cops have way too much authority and that always equals a loss of freedom for citizens.

Why would drivers bother registering their vehicles if they were no longer subject to being stopped for not displaying the correct sticker? For that matter, why have insurance? Suppose someone rams into your car, backs up and takes off? Did you get the license plate? Aaaah, no, only saw the front of the car and it didn't have one. So no front license plate needed and no lighting up the back license plate at night so the police can't run your plate if they need to without shining a bright spotlight on your car - that is if they're not already chasing you. We definitely need an elected official reset in this country - or better yet, let's get rid of elected officials altogether - I mean, if anything goes these days why do we need them? We can create all the mayhem we want to without their assistance....
