An off-duty NYPD officer is in critical condition after he was shot in Brooklyn during an apparent robbery Saturday night, police said. The officer — a 26-year-old father of two — was blasted in the head during a shootout at 472 Ruby Street in East New York around 7 p.m., police and sources said. The officer accompanied his brother for a car purchase he arranged on Facebook marketplace, when he was shot in what appears to be a botched holdup, police and sources said. The suspect pulled out his gun “almost immediately,” after the two arrived at the scene and “announced a robbery,” Assistant Police Chief Michael Baldassano told reporters Saturday night.

A white, female Willamette University professor is scheduled to host a veritable struggle session this month at a local library “for white people to reflect together on what it means to ‘do our work’ as white people.”
The professor, Emily Drew, predictably “teaches courses about racism, white supremacy, immigration, and social change,” according to a biography.
“Her research agenda revolves around understanding how race and racism get institutionalized, with the goal of helping to illuminate more effective strategies for interrupting systemic inequality,” the biography reads.
She also performs work for Crossroads, an “antiracism” consulting form whose mission centers on “dismantling racism” and “building racial justice in institutions.”

People are legitimately upset with the actions of the police in this case.
But in NYC, you also had the radical leftists who are pushing their political agenda, no matter the reason or the cause. Everything is an argument about why the current order should be shifted to the left. We reported on the video released in the beating death of Tyre Nichols, and the video was not good.
The police officers involved, who were all black, were fired and charged with second-degree murder in his death. So, one would think that “justice” was being pursued. Nichols’ family reportedly called for peace, saying they didn’t want any disturbance and were satisfied with how the case had been proceeding so far.
But some in New York weren’t listening. There was a march with folks carrying the signs of the Party of Socialism and Liberation. People from the unaffiliated BLM group in New York, and their leader Hawk Newsome, were also marching.

As we reported early Sunday morning, a mass shooting in Monterey Park, California, during the Lunar New Year festivities has claimed multiple victims.
Per the latest update from Fox News, authorities have confirmed at least 10 of the victims have died and 10 have been transported to area hospitals, while the shooter remains at large.

President Biden’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is taking steps towards requiring state and local governments to submit “equity plans” to the federal government to display compliance to fair housing rules.
President Biden’s HUD submitted a proposed rule that would require local governments to submit plans and reports relating to civil rights concerns or else risk losing subsidies from the federal government, the Washington Examiner reported. The requirements are part of a rule called “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” and are said to follow through on one portion of the 1968 Fair Housing Act, which mandated that localities “affirmatively further” fair housing in response to historical segregation.
