President Biden’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is taking steps towards requiring state and local governments to submit “equity plans” to the federal government to display compliance to fair housing rules.
President Biden’s HUD submitted a proposed rule that would require local governments to submit plans and reports relating to civil rights concerns or else risk losing subsidies from the federal government, the Washington Examiner reported. The requirements are part of a rule called “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” and are said to follow through on one portion of the 1968 Fair Housing Act, which mandated that localities “affirmatively further” fair housing in response to historical segregation.
And will this requirement be applied to Rehoboth Beach and Martha's Vineyard? Just two examples that quickly come to mind.

Holdover from stuff Obama tried to pull on us. Trump put a stop to it. Look up equity. It means the other person gets the same thing that you worked hard to achieve but they don’t have to put any sweat equity in it.
I worry they will decide I will have to take an illegal family into my home and provide for them. I know it sounds nuts but look at the nutty things that are happening.

Why is there a federal housing agency? Didn't we thrive and prosper for over 200 years without one?
Wake up, you brain-dead Pubbies! Defund the bureaucracy! Eliminate every cabinet department - - except Defense, Justice, State, and Treasury - - AND - - turn over all federal land - - outside of the District of Columbia - - to the states in which they are located.
What in God's name are you waiting for? Stop funding our beautiful nation's enemies! Do it NOW!

This is it. The federal government voiding all local zoning rules. No more zones single family. Someone can buy up a few houses in your town or subdivision, the next thing a Section 8 multifamily building. Obama's goal all along.
We have to put a stop to it. They are not interested in lifting people out of poverty so that they can purchase a home in a nice neighborhood. They believe "equity" is turning the nice neighborhoods into slums. There! Now everybody is the same, mission accomplished.

Great idea but let's start within the neighborhoods of those who pass such laws. Lead by example and live with your ideals. You keep telling us who we are, or at least who we ought to be. You first.

Start with the communities along the Texas-Mexico border, then compare to the gated communities of the progressives through the U S.

Was still on Active Duty during the Charlie Crist years as Governor of Florida, but the damage he caused in my hometown from seeding the criminal element into upper middle class neighborhoods (by putting them in nice apartment complexes) was still evident upon retirement in 2012. Nice strip centers were being stripped clear by thieves because the employees couldn’t stop them. Couldn’t check out of a Dollar Store because the two employees we’re following a pack of savages who saw it as entertainment. Other stores had already closed. It was a disgrace.

Some Bigshot needs to get on national news and seriously explain the difference between equality and equity!
Folks just don't know there is a huge difference! I only have a select group I can influence.

Key words: “proposes rule.”
We are governed by Deep State laws, regulations, and rules. Notice congress is having NO say. At least at the moment.

"Equity" means intentional racism against whites, and nothing else.

That reminds me. It's time to abolish HUD. What value does it add? None.

Local governments need to pull away from the federal teat and find alternative funding for their needs, and indeed, rethink what is really a need. And then tell the feds what to do with their rules made by unelected ideologues. If enough local and regional governments could wake up and make a plan to act together and do this, what are the feds going to do, sue? Fine. Don't pay. It's time the bluff was called.

they push too far. Isn't there something in the Constitution about all matters not specifically bla bla are reserved to the states? Yes that boundary has wandered but thanks to Democratic overreach I would say it is just about to swing back.

I don't know how you got to a nice crime free neighborhood but I did it by working two jobs, attending night school, getting along with my boss and never calling out sick. I keep my house maintained because I worked hard to save for it. Lucky, I understand a government that wants to take that away having seen it first hand. Always have your house ready for sale and get out fast as soon as the first sign of future destruction.

Forced equity should be as illegal as forcing everybody to wear the same clothes. We can't force everybody to be equal. Outcomes are not guaranteed.
