The American Consumer Is 'Starting to
Freak out,' Spending Drops 3 out of Last

Although President Biden keeps insisting his economic programs are working great, there are plenty of troublesome signs indicating otherwise, including the all-important rate of consumer spending. Simple rule: if people are buying more things, it generally means they feel good about the state of their finances and the economy. When folks tighten their belts, however, it’s because they either simply don’t have enough money to purchase more than the essentials, or they’re holding on to their wallets because they fear for the future. Consumer spending is often known as the “engine of the economy”—and it’s out of gas. The Wall Street Journal reports

Its the economy, paraphrase James Carville concerning elections. By 2024 the economy will be in the tank because of Biden with elections that November. Democrats, not to worry, Carville was wrong. Its the vote counting, stupid. The Democrat candidate wins despite inflation and recession.

We were living quite comfortably but have cut way back. "Wants" are quickly being shoved away and "needs" are being pared back to bare minimum. Even so we are spending much more and getting much less. Those communists sure know how to wreck a economy.

Spending is measured in amount of dollars spent not on number of items purchased, so if spending has gone down in a time of large price increases, the number of goods sold has dropped drastically. Not good for business.

I used to get 3 0 cents off at the pump once a month using their system. Now it’s 60 cents off. That’s double. So, why isn’t inflation at 50 percent? Oh and FJB

When the price of everything increases, what is really happening is that the value of the money is decreasing. I recall the Lenin quote: "The most effective way to attack the Capitalist State is to debauch the Currency." ..... and that is EXACTLY what The HairSniffer and the 'Rats are doing. Shutting off the fuel supply makes the fuel, and everything ... every product, and every service.... that uses fuel more expensive. I remember the 1973-era 'gas shortages'. Gas went from 29.9 cents per gallon to a dollar and 20 cents per gallon. This drove inflation that increased the price of everything until the prices of everything came back into proportion. The effect was the lessening of the value -that is, the debauchery- of the currency. The HairSniffer and his fellow criminals -the 'Rats and the supporting Uniparty Rinos- are doing everything they can to weaken and eventually destroy America. Don't agree? Tell me ANYTHING that they have done that is making America a better, stronger nation!

The Pentagon is tracking a suspected Chinese high-altitude surveillance balloon over the continental United States, a senior defense official said on Thursday. The Pentagon has been tracking the balloon for several days as it made its way over the northern United States, Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder said. He added that the US military decided against shooting the balloon down. "The balloon is currently traveling at an altitude well above commercial air traffic and does not present a military or physical threat to people on the ground," Ryder said.

The House Oversight Committee on Thursday demanded that Special Presidential Envoy for Climate (SPEC) John Kerry release documents pertaining to his negotiations with the Chinese Communist Party. Harris County Texas is huge. If it were a state it would rank 25th in population, just behind Alabama. Almost 5 million people live there. Nine members of the U.S. House of Representatives hail from or represent the county, as well as 24 state representatives. At its center is Houston, which is reliably Democrat, but the county as a whole is a swing district these days with both Democrats and Republicans winning elections. In other words, how well the elections are run matters a lot, not just to the citizens of the county itself, but to the overall balance of power in the state and country. Guess what? The Federal Reserve is raising its benchmark interest rate a quarter of a percentage point, officials with the central bank said on Wednesday, its eighth consecutive hike as policy makers try to subdue inflation. The latest increase in the federal funds rate — what banks charge each other for short-term loans — is smaller than the Fed's 0.5 percentage point increase in December as well as a string of three-quarter point moves over the course of 2022. With the latest increase, the Fed's target interest rate is set in a range between 4.50% and 4.75% — its highest level since late 2007. The Fed said its campaign to curb prices

Donald Trump is not stupid. His opponents have always underestimated him because of the colloquial way he talks–sounding vastly different than most people in the highly educated class. Not sounding educated, they assume he isn’t and by extension isn’t smart. But in recent weeks Trump has been acting as if he is stupid, and I have to say I am surprised. Trump has been attacking Ron DeSantis on the COVID lockdown issue, arguing that the governor’s reputation as a freedom fighter is unearned.
