More than 50,000 pounds of deli meat is being recalled nationwide over potential listeria contamination.
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a recall of eight products on Sunday, including popular brands such as Boar's Head and Meijer.
The goods were sold in stores across the US between December 23, 2022 and January 17, 2023.
No adverse events have yet been linked to the contaminated meats, but customers who bought the products with a USDA EST.54 inspection label are being advised to return them or throw them away.

Recalled?
From where?
The trash?
Wouldn't all of this have been sold and eaten by now, or tossed?
It was last sold two weeks ago.
Do Americans really let deli meat sit in their fridge for two weeks before trying it?

Conspiracy Alert;
Maybe the USDA calls in all the deli meat to replace it with mRNA-injected product. Just a thought.

Hey, if you can't fly a plane into a factory, or blow the factory up, or burn it down, why not just declare the food unfit for consumption? I mean if you're tryna constrict the food supply, this is a good way to do it, dontcha think? How much food has been lost to America over recent history? All fowl, all eggs, meat, grain, through "disease", "contamination", countless destroyed facilities. What's going on here? FDA can't get their vax straight but they can chase baloney out of the marketplace... Something smells here and I don't think it's listeria. And no reports illnesses yet... SMH

They did the same thing with Jiff peanut butter. We assumed it was an effort to create a food shortage and ate it anyway. It was fine.

The FDA is on top of it aren't they!?! Like others have said, if deli meat was purchased during that time frame is has already been consumed. We buy Meijer brand and are still alive.
When they recalled Jiff, I had just purchased 6 large jars from Sam's and of course it was the peanut butter that was recalled. We ate it and are still eating it now.

This is a brain worm. It is the inference that the food supply is possibly contaminated. As other posters noted, the last date is Jan 15, so unless it is frozen or shoved in the back growing a biological experiment, it was all consumed with no known reports.

First chicken and eggs, now deli meat. If they start messing with steaks and seafood I'm really going to become irritated.

I had some Boar's Head ham a few weeks ago and it was fine. I didn't get sick. Fed the last couple of slices to my cats (they love deli meat) week before last and they are fine.

I cannot afford Boar's Head and I never heard of Meijer except for it being a huge superstore out west someplace. I knew that Hormel was bought by China years ago, so I rarely ever buy a meat product under the name of the box store that sells it. Sorry, Wally World!
Maybe Meijer and Boar's Head just want to knock off the segment of the population that cannot afford to waste what little food it is buying during the Great Reset. But as fellow poster pointed out, that was during the last half of December.

A little late on that recall don't ya think? That Boar's Head ham and turkey I ate was fine as far as I know during that time. No adverse effects that I can recall.

FDA is useless. What do they actually do? Inspect when they feel like it. Another agency no longer doing their job.

Not really in an area where Boar's Head is sold regularly and I have never seen any of the other brands. Also to answer other commenters, sometimes when things are at a good price, people buy and then freeze for later use. But I get the point about the delay in reporting this, how many people are affected?
