The Philadelphia Eagles will return to the Super Bowl for the first time in five years after claiming the NFC Championship crown.
Nick Sirianni's team dominated the wounded San Francisco 49ers Sunday afternoon to secure a 31-7 victory and prove itself as the NFC's best.
The Niners suffered a ceaseless nightmare at the Linc that began with rookie quarterback Brock Purdy injuring his elbow, forcing fourth choice Josh Johnson to step up before he also exited the game with concussion.

This Eagles team is pretty impressive. But the Purdy injury basically ended the game.

What a shame, robbed of an exciting game by injuries. Philly looks very very good though.

Eagles are a good team, but injuries to both the 3rd and 4th string quarterbacks, leaving none to throw the ball, and a slew of 49er penalties that saved several Eagles scoring drives contributed to the route, one drive saved by a bad call when an eagle's player blocked a 49er into the punter. Had the 49ers been able to sustain drives the game may have gone differently, but the quarterback situation caught up with San Fran.

NFL? Zzzzzz. I haven't watched pro football for at least 10 years, and haven't missed a thing.

The Eagles showed nothing. If the real 49er team had been able to show up it would have been an opposite result. They will be smoked in the Super Bowl. Enjoy your last win Eagles.

The Eagles’ offensive line is the real story, not the QB. An NFL O-line that is #1 in the league can make a backup QB look good.

It's hard to suggest that the Eagles shouldn't have been elated to be going to the supper bowl but the celebration seemed a bit over the top considering the circumstances.

Why such hate #10. Look, having grown up in the Philly area, any time a Philly team gets to championship game it's huge. This is the town of losers. The Eagles were expected to have a really good team this year. So the Eagles getting to the Super Bowl is big, but not unexpected. The real big news was the Phillies getting to the World Series. Nobody expected that, not even the Phillies players. I don't get the hostility toward Philly teams by everyone including the sports media. The hatred toward Eagles fans I kinda get. They are a surly bunch, but Phillies fans are not like Eagle fans. No one gets harassed wearing a jersey or gear from another team at Phillies games. Not so much at Eagles games, but even Eagle fans aren't as mean as they were fifty years ago. I remember hearing stories of fans of out of town teams not even making it into the stadium while walking though the parking lots. They left because of the harassment and feared for their lives. It's not like that anymore.

Hurts had a great team to lead, and they decimated their opponents.
What the team does not have is "Mahomes Magic"
See you in two weeks!

It's not realistic to think a team can win in the NFL when both of their last backup quarterbacks go out with injuries, especially in a playoff game... ESPECIALLY in their conference championship. Even the backup to "Mr. Irrelevant" went down.
The 49ers amazed us just by getting to the playoffs on a 12-game winning streak, after that "Mr. Irrelevant" won 8 straight games. Thanks for the awesome effort this season, team.

My NFL viewership has been down in recent years. So much so the last game I fully watched was when my Cowboys got barely beaten by SF. All week until the Eagles SF game all I heard was the fact that my Boys got beat. That's why I was thrilled with the egg laying Eagles soundly beat them. Now since I hate both SF and Philly here's hoping that KC wins the SB. Either way I'll be working the day of the game so thankfully I once again won't be watching the NFL.
