In the previous post, What's Behind The Talk Of Negotiations? we devoted a fair amount of space to the new study that was published by the Rand Corporation. The study focused on a cost/benefit analysis for America in a protracted war with Russia.(snip)It was framed as helping Ukraine resist “unprovoked” aggression from Russia—as if there was no pre-history to this war, as if NATO had not been actively promoting economic and political warfare against Russia with Ukraine as a proxy, (sniip). Re#1. Led?? We are NATO. If anything, the US and former Warsaw Pact members is pushing NATO. This was a mess from the beginning with no good outcomes. I'm only shocked that the Russian military is this bad and that Ukraine has been able to hold out. I'll make two observations. 1. If Russia really applies itself, Russia wins in the long run. Russia has the capability to level Ukraine, without nukes. If it desires. Doing so however leaves them with a large territory the has to be supported. 2. The longer this goes on, with the US essentially funding and supplying the war effort, the worse it gets for the US long term. We are trashing our economy and weakening our own military to fight a proxy war. With China, Iran and North Korea just waiting for an opportunity to move against the US, Taiwan and Israel. Russia's adventure and Biden's incompetent meddling is setting the table for WWIII.

The USA is most of NATO. Nothing that Ukraine does is ANY business of the Russians. Putin has absolutely NO right to tell Ukraine what they can or cannot do. Putin grabbed Crimea, and no countries did anything...sanything...so like any theif, he went back to steal more. I support the right of ANY country to resist invasion by another country. The Russians have a long history of international thuggery.

Putin and Russia are extremely paranoid about NATO. They fully believe NATO and the US want to attack Russia. Due to this paranoia, they believe Russia must have buffer states against NATO aggression. This paranoia stems from the German attack of Russia in WWII. Putin also does not respect the sovereignty of Ukraine believing they are a subset of Russia proper. Therefore in his deluded mind it was fully justified to "defend" Russia by invading Ukraine. I call bullshite and so do the unified countries of Europe, except for Hungary and Belarus. It is not that Russia should be afraid of invasion, it is that every country in Europe is actually worried about Russia, especially any country that shares a border with Russia.

If Donald Trump had not been cheated out of his second term by the Deep State, Russia would not have attacked Ukraine and the member nations of NATO would not be suffering a gas and oil crisis because the stupid euroweenies would not have been able to keep the green fraud going without our six trillion dollar cash injection theft from American taxpayers. The Biden Big Top is an expensive mistake that may kill us. It may kill Joe as well because he is now undergoing tremendous stress due to his and Hunter's criminal activity with Ukraine. He could be slowly vegetating in his Delaware basement surrounded by stacks of classified material and nobody would care about a senile has-been who never was.

Re #7: Joe Biden and family are not looting $$$ from Ukraine; it's part of the money being sent as aid to Ukraine. It is money from the US Treasury coming back in kickbacks and being spread around to Mitch McConnell and friends. That's why they don't dare give an accounting of the $$$ sent to Ukraine. There are plenty of smart conservatives who can add and subract to get a pretty good estimation of how much is coming back to the White House and Congress of the United States. Mitch McConnell has his own conduit to get money out of China for himself...her name is Elaine Chou whose father owns a major shipping company used by China. It's all so incestuous, it's enough to make you vomit.

Speculation continues to swirl around Marianne Williamson, a former Democrat presidential candidate and self-described “spiritual thought leader,” launching another presidential bid to challenge President Joe Biden, as she reportedly heads to New Hampshire — home of the first in the nation primary — to help her make that determination. Rumors have swirled over Williamson’s intentions in 2024, as she reportedly has spent time speaking out and courting donors in attempts to gauge her political future. As reported in December, the Democrat also has an exploratory committee donation page on the Act Blue Democrat fundraising platform.

For decades, hexavalent chromium has provided the silvery showroom finish to countless consumer products, from automobile bumpers and grilles to kitchen faucets and light fixtures. It has also served as an indispensable rust-resistant coating for aviation components, such as airplane landing gear. But while hardened chrome is harmless, the airborne emissions from the plating process are more than 500 times more toxic than diesel exhaust, and pose a substantial cancer risk to surrounding communities. In light of these risks, the California Air Resources Board has proposed a landmark ban on the use of so-called chrome-6 in decorative plating by 2027,

An elevated rate of Bell’s palsy was identified among elderly people after vaccination with a Pfizer booster shot, U.S. regulators said in a new study. The “small but statistically significant elevation” in Bell’s palsy was detected after vaccination with Pfizer’s old booster, which is no longer available in the United States, researchers with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in a preprint study. The elevated rate resulted in an adjusted incidence rate ratio of 1.13 and remained consistent when researchers adjusted for different factors, such as prior COVID-19 infection. A rate above one shows a possible connection between the vaccine and an adverse event.

The release of the videos from the lethal arrest of Tyre Nichols, 29, is shocking for its lack of professional tactics and procedures. This looks like adrenaline-filled rage … from the officers. At certain points, it is the suspect who sounds to be trying to de-escalate the situation. It is unfortunately not unique. In physical encounters, officers can escalate violence and lose control with lethal consequences. The footage helps establish a number of legal points. The force is clearly and undeniably excessive. It was a complete breakdown of training and supervision. It is hard to look at this tape objectively and analytically given the emotional impact of the scene. Yet
