Gov. Ron DeSantis weighed in on the battle for chair of the Republican National Committee, throwing his support behind challenger Harmeet Dhillon and spelling out the need for new blood after disappointing midterm elections.
It sets up a proxy clash between two of the Republican party's heavyweights and possible 2024 rivals, as former President Donald Trump is quietly backing incumbent Ronna McDaniel.
'I think we need a change, I think we need to get some new blood in the RNC,' DeSantis said.
'I like what Harmeet Dhillon has said about getting the RNC out of DC [...] We need some fresh thinking.'

Feel free to blame the real perp (McConnell) who is the defacto head of the Get Trump band of gypsies, tramps and thieves. McCarthy seems a bit timid to me. /s

Before you fall in love with DeSantis, take a good hard look at who funds him, who supports him, and who works for him. He is saying all the right things as governor, but he is pretty much Paul Ryan, part II. No thanks. He should stay governor of FL.

McDaniel has been a very reluctant supporter of Trump so I don’t understand his support for her. Rather out of character. #2 not sure what you are referring to since you didn’t site any sources, but all politicians talk the talk. DeSantis is walking the walk. Big difference.

Trump is quietly backing her? What does that even mean? And since when does Trump quietly do anything?
His special charm is how loudly unfiltered he always is.

If Rona McDaniel continues as the RNC chair the RNC can save postage sending me requests for money. They will never see another penny from me.

Why on earth would Trump back Ronna? Especially since her opponent is one of his own supporters?

# 2, before you trash Ron DeSantis take a good hard look at his actions and initiatives as governor. This man fights the good fight every time out and doesn't back down. He has a four year track record to prove it. To compare Governor Ron to Paul Ryan is insulting and ridiculous.

Trump's alleged support is so "quiet" I haven't noticed it. Trump has worked closely with Dhillon in the past and likely will continue to do so in the future. This is a typical Daily Mail contrivance.

McDaniel is pretty full of herself. She has said she’s not going anywhere. What does she know that we don’t know?

#9, DeSantis is doing good things in Florida but I have to agree with #2, I do have pause to support him for POTUS in 2024 because of the things she mentioned in her post. I am gun shy because we have learned the hard way that some Republicans are not what they seem to be. I can’t help but wonder if the establishment is quietly supporting him, allowing him the leeway right now to promise things he won’t be able to deliver. He is the best chance they have to knock Trump off the ticket.
Then I ask myself why would he make the move to run for President right now when he is doing such an excellent job in Florida? Surely, his job is not done there. Someone is whispering in his ear because he has to know President Trump is not going down without a fight and why would RD want to divide the party now? At this time wouldn’t it be more productive to unite the party instead of dividing it. He has to know Trump voters are fiercely loyal. Why open that can of worms? I believe DeSantis is a good man and I do not want him to get pulled into the establishment Rino vortex. If the RNC wants a powerhouse going after democrats, they would encourage a Trump DeSantis partnership even if DeSantis does not want the VP slot. These two men have to come together to defeat these radical democrats. I can’t see Trump supporters jumping ship because they still trust and believe in Trump. The country is more important than personal egos and both men should recognize this. We know establishment Rinos would rather lose than support Trump. They will do anything to get rid of him. They are the villains in this drama. DeSantis would be wise to be careful who he is beholden to.
Ronna has to go. Harmeet Dhillon, I have always liked. When she was interviewed especially before the 2022 elections she assured the public that she had teams of lawyers ready to go in every battleground state to protect the vote and be ready to file whatever paperwork was needed in case of voting shenanigans. However, it appears she left Kari Lake high and dry when it was apparent democrats were up to their old tricks and that gives me pause. I didn’t see her one time advocating for her. Why is that?

# 12, why do you assume that DeSantis intends to run for president in the 2024 cycle? He has not suggested in any way that he intends to do so.
You and poster # 2 are way overthinking this stuff. Too much Sundance. I should think that the only one whispering in the governor's ear is Mrs. DeSantis.

I am not President TRUMP, but if I were, I would most definitely want Ronna OUT--
She is a supporter of all things RINO, and they are the ones who back stabbed PDJT-- and kept the entrenched supported at the expense of new blood in DC
The Elite $$$$ RINOs do not support the BASE which supports America First priorities, and they are anxious to encourage as many cheap labor ILLEGAL ALIENS to enrich themselves....
