The Biden administration is always telling us that the best thing we can do is buy an electric vehicle. In fact, various members of the administration treat it almost flippantly — it’s a no-brainer that you should buy an expensive electric car or two. Doing so will rescue the planet from certain environmental collapse and will save you loads of money, even though the average cost of an electric vehicle was $66,000 as of August of last year.
Plenty of people are falling for it, and it’s easy to see why. The siren song of the tax credit is hard to ignore, and the idea of not having to contend

Imagine how much wider the disparity would be if we pumped our own oil.

And in my Accord, I can drive about 600 miles on a tank, and then fill it again in about 6-10 minutes total time, and go out and drive 600 more miles.
Not happening your overgrown golf cart.

Factoring in the exorbitant price of EV's vs gas-powered cars, it has ALWAYS been more expensive.

From Tesla.com: "A Tesla Wall Connector offers the fastest charging speed for your home or office, adding up to 44 miles of range per hour charged.". So let's do some math. If you drive a Tesla for 100,000 miles you will spend 22,727 hours charging the vehicle. Divide that by 24 hours a day = 947 days, then divide by 365 days in a year, and you will spend 2.6 years charging your car with the Tesla Wall Connector. Sounds like a good waste of time.

I live in Houston. Grandma Lives in Opelousas Louisiana. If I had a fully charged Tesla I could ALMOST make it there. Then to get home I would have to find or BUY a charger in Opelousas. Think I like my Tundra.

Love my RAM crew cab 5.7 that can get me 22 mpg on the highway with a full load and is comfortable to boot. Oh, it does have about a 500 mile range with a full tank as long as I keep my foot out of the fuel injectors.

What? I thought driving an elex car was free. Just insert the plug into the wall and soon you can drive off without paying anything.

Anything the government does has to be subsidized, which means we all end up buying EVs for the woke among us.

Prediction: EVs are not practical and will eventually go away, to be replaced by what worked before: gasoline. E-cars are nothing but glorified golf carts. I wouldn't have one.

Even if a person wants an EV, a hybrid is a 100% better option.

Has anyone factored in the replacement cost of the house after it burns down while home charging that battery driven golf cart?

There are many expenses not included in there comparisons. Only considering fuel costs does not include maintenance for ICE vehicles or EV's either.
ICE vehicles require:
-Gasoline
-Oil changes
-Other fluids
-Antifreeze
-Brake fluid
-Transmission oil
-Tune up supplies
All above not required in an EV.
******But*****
EV's will eventually require new batteries which will cost as much as the used EV is worth.
All these expenses should be factored in to get the true cost per 100 miles.

It always has been despite the Green Weenies fondest wishes. Buy a new Honda Civic for $20K and drive across the country while enjoying 40 mpg with over 400 miles between fuel stops. No rattling windmill or solar farm will ever equal that.

Re #13....a bit outdated. Modern cars require a "tune up" only at 100,000 miles, by federal law. And what is a "tune up" today? There are no points, condenser, cap, rotor.....so a 'tune up' is a set of spark plugs. I buy mine from Rock Auto online and get Bosch platinum or iridium for about $2 each. So my tune up costs me about $8, the price of about three of Joe Biden's corrupt gallons of gas. Antifreeze is good for at least three to five years. Oil changes are needed and should be every 5,000 miles with modern synthetic oils. I pay about $20 for the oil and $5 for a filter, so in 100,000 miles - about 20 times $25, so $500 for oil changes.
That's an actual added cost that EVs don't have. But this "savings" costs you buying a car that costs between two and three times what your gas car costs. Hmm. $1,000 on maintenance or $30,000 more up front? Which is the bargain?
Transmission fluid? Hah? Modern cars mostly don't even have a dipstick or filler for the transmission. Your info is out of date by a bunch.

For sure the Biden Administration is working on a solution to this problem - make gasoline more expensive. Problem solved.

Have they figured in the cost of replacing those Batteries and the dangers that occur when they get wet? And forget about the cost of towing them when it gets to freezing and they won't run, . Not good. They are off the mark to fast with this, but again as it is with the Covid shots....follow the money.
