House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) that Republcans would not make cuts to social security or Medicare to offset the debt ceiling during a meeting on Tuesday, according to Punch Bowl News co-founder Jake Sherman.
Sherman noted in a tweet that Manchin also “hopes” President Joe Biden will negotiate with Republicans, who want spending cuts in exchange for their help raising the debt ceiling. A source familiar with their conversation said it was positive but added “commitments” were not established, the Hill’s Alexander Bolton reported.

While Mitch "MultiUseless" McConnell awaits an OK from Chuck "Snake" Schumer in order to speak. Hey MultiUseless, Chuck says write a stern letter and he'll modify the contents(as usual). Here MultiUseless, here's your biscuit.

I can't imagine why in the world McCarthy would waste time and energy engaging with a treasonous low-life like Manchin?

McCarthy could possibly be President someday if he would only say NO to lifting the Debt Ceiling. Simply NO! If he explained the Ceiling has gone as far as he is ever going to allow it to hit. From now on, begin CUTTING how much money is spent of Illegals every month. Start There! No more Unemployment for people who should be working. Keep moving on until the necessary things will be funded because the NON-Necessary things have been cut! That's what average Americans have to do to keep their Budget where it needs to be. That's what the GOVERNMENT needs to do as well. No more just simply raising the ceiling, then keep spending more and more. And how about no more money to Ukraine. We have done all we can for them!

Why would any Republican even respond to a demoslut lie about Republicans cutting social security or medicare. Surely there must be video from fifty years ago of some demoslut saying that Republicans will cut social security during a campaign. I remember seeing just BS in Newsweek and hearing this crap on tv when I was a junior in high school in 1970.

Okay, the reality is that the dems have one club to hit us over the head with: "gutting social security". As DJT has advised SS has to be left alone. There is plenty of garbage spending that can and should be cut. McCarthy needs to be smart about this, highlighting that he will approve the ceiling if and only if progress is being made on waste and expensive woke nonsense.

Given that America's senior citizen population has shrunk due to COVID mismanagement, I doubt that costs for Social Security and Medicare will rise anytime soon. The debt ceiling needs to stay stable before we go under water and have no choice. Every time they are tempted to increase our spending, another government department should be eliminated. We all have our favorite candidates.

The Democrats have been rolling out this scare tactic for 20 years. I’m surprised that they don’t get laughed out of the room by now.

Cuts should be made by reducing the number of federal employees and preventing legislators from sending piles of money back to their states

PDT has already shown the way out. Axe the wastage on useless Green Energy 'save the planet' projects. I would say take a serious look at foreign aid, Ukraine, make welfare and Medicaid work dependent, reduce Federal employees in useless and extra-constitutional activities. I think I just solved the problem!

The shame is that Congress will still ask for more money after the ridiculous and completely useless pork that gets passed in every bill that is brought to the floor. I think these Congress critters should be made to make a list of each porkified request and put the name of the person requesting such absurd expenditures, every single one along with the amount. We need to know who is behind financing these boondoggles. If they are so important make them explain why to the American taxpayers. It’s all about an abundance of hubris and a total lack of accountability. Americans are sick of it.
Didn’t the Congress recently add a salary increase for themselves and their staffs in the last omnibus bill? How in the world can they do this while Americans suffer because of the laws they are passing? It just boggles the mind. We are living under a caste system that is nothing like the government our Founders wanted for this country. It is ironic because our government resembles the British monarchy with their powerful hierarchy of elites who control the destiny of anyone beneath their station in life. Yet, here we are free Americans submitting to an overzealous and corrupt caste of criminals and power hungry elites who are confident we will never rebel and we probably won’t. We can’t even manage to demand an accounting of their expenditures which seems to me to be a reasonable request.

A start to the Debt Ceiling Resolution would be to cancel the 1.7 Trillion $$$$$$ Monstrosity bill that was passed the end of Dec. in the middle of the night before the Republicans took over the House. There. That's a start!
