Washington — President Biden is set to deliver remarks on the United States' "continued support for Ukraine" on Wednesday as the U.S. prepares to send tanks to the country to provide much-needed firepower for Ukrainian troops fighting off Russian invaders. [Snip] Germany also said Wednesday that it would send 14 of its Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine, and approve re-export of the same kind of tanks from partner countries like Poland. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told a German TV network that the tanks from Western allies will provide a much-needed morale boost to his soldiers on the front lines.

Democrats and their stupid little wars. Only a wimp like Joe would get into a fight and think he won't have to fight.

It’s a proxy war, like huncher bidet is the smartest man schmoe knows. No wonder the doomsday clock is right at midnight. And schmoe plans his next boondoggle. And ice cream break. And diaper change (that’s not true; these are all unplanned).

The US economy is tanking and the neocons want war. The plan is to weaken if not destroy Russia and decouple them from China (in effect ending BRICs) to allow the US to be the World empire. Unfortunately that only looks good on paper. Russia views this as an existential threat. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of people are about to be sacrificed by neocons.

Wish we had a POTUS who wanted to support the United States of America. We need tanks sent to our non existent border with Mexico. Quid Pro Joe is obsessed with Ukraine because it is a major source of funding for the Bidet Crime Syndicate, he can blame the Borsch Belt War for his total failure as POTUS, and the Z man has a wife who is highly sniffable and fondable. It's bad enough that everything is over priced, crime is out of control, and the USA is becoming a vasal of China. We have to put up with billions of dollar being thrown down a bottomless rathole by The Vegetable.

Biden's back is to the wall, so expect more of this. Congress needs to short circuit this if it can and get Biden walled off to prevent future acts of desperation. By the way, has General Supreme Milley discussed nukes with Putin?

A year into this war, and here are the accomplishments. The population of Ukraine has moved elsewhere. The Russians have leveled Ukraine. The U.S. has spent $200 billion, sent all their military equipment to Ukraine, and lost their position as the reserve currency of the world. The world is starving, no longer having Ukrainian food production. And the EU has no energy to run their homes and factories. Russia, already having killed off most of their male population, is killing off the rest in Ukraine. The U.S. will be out many more billions to rebuild Ukraine, after they finish blowing it up. More people are dying in Ukraine from artillery shells than ever died from the flu or covid. I wonder if WHO is concerned.

I defended George Bush with the WMD war. Thousands of our best kids got killed and we removed Saddam, who was a devil, but he kept Iran in check, chaos ensued. On top of that the WMD was a lie while Osama Bin Laden was living large in Pakistan. BTW we give a lot of money to Pakistan.

Americans will be in those tanks. You don’t just send the most sophisticated technology to a place and expect their soldiers know what to do with it. As for Putin, he’s simply stating facts.

The idea of nuclear armageddon is personally distasteful to me. I don't think my homeowners insurance even covers it. I know that sounds selfish. Still, I'd prefer that our thoughtful world leaders avoid it. If at all possible.

WASHINGTON – The White House relented Wednesday after months of pleas from Ukraine for the Pentagon's most lethal armored vehicle: the Abrams tank. [Snip] Fighting this winter has been described by a senior U.S. military official as "savage," likening it to World War I trench warfare. Analysts expect Russia to mount what could be a fierce offensive in a campaign to end Ukraine’s string of battlefield successes in recent months and reverse the heavy troop and territorial losses Russia suffered in the first year of fighting.

Credit card industry representatives have cleared the way for a new means of tracking firearm and ammunition purchases, a move that supporters say will help flag suspicious sales and reduce gun crime. The International Standards Organization, which sets rules across the financial services industry, agreed to create a new merchant category code for gun and ammunition retailers at a meeting this week, and announced the decision Friday. The decision came amid mounting pressure on credit card companies by Democrats in Congress who urged the code's creation.

To look at me you’d never know it, but my great-great-great-great [“4G”] grandmother was from Nigeria, according to my saliva, all that was needed for the laboratory to make that determination. [Snip] My brother’s reaction to the revelation that we are 1/64th sub-Saharan African was terse and profound: “I just hope it was consensual,” he texted me. Suddenly, the tender fantasy of star-crossed lovers I’d begun to imagine for my “4G” grandparents was gone with the wind. Although the laboratory cannot tell us, and our family history doesn’t record it, my “4G grandmother” was likely a slave. And logic informs us, alas, that my “4G” grandfather was probably her owner.

The late Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin used to tell a story of imprisonment, based perhaps on his own. He said that once behind bars, the prisoner thinks of nothing but freedom, of escaping. Because of this, cruelly sophisticated jailers introduce water into the cell. Now, the enslaved puts freedom off for the moment, seeking first to get rid of the water. From there, the jailers add cockroaches to the poor soul’s misery. Liberty is back-burnered.

Ronald Reagan famously said, "The trouble with our liberal friends isn't that they're ignorant. It's that they know so much that isn't so." This might be the only thing our friends on the left have in common with yesterday's liberals. The earlier breed at least gave lip service to the value of free speech and vigorous debate. [Snip] Newsrooms and classrooms eagerly ban words that give newly discovered offense. Inevitably, the ideas the words conveyed disappear. Libraries and retailers ban the books they're found in. An elevated rate of Bell’s palsy was identified among elderly people after vaccination with a Pfizer booster shot, U.S. regulators said in a new study. The “small but statistically significant elevation” in Bell’s palsy was detected after vaccination with Pfizer’s old booster, which is no longer available in the United States, researchers with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in a preprint study. The elevated rate resulted in an adjusted incidence rate ratio of 1.13 and remained consistent when researchers adjusted for different factors, such as prior COVID-19 infection. A rate above one shows a possible connection between the vaccine and an adverse event.
