Trump Reportedly Mulling Ending Exclusivity

Twitter may be a cesspool of inflammatory accusations, half-truths, and despicable child pornography. But there can be no doubt that it is a primary way to make one’s voice heard — the digital town square, to steal a phrase that has already been used to death. That is, of course, unless you have been shown the door of that town square and told never to return. Such was the case for President Donald Trump, who used Twitter throughout his campaign and during his term in office to great effect until the bird flipped him the bird. The Twitter ban in question was enacted after the Jan. 6 incident

Trump only reaches his base on Truth Social and he would rather reach everyone. He will ditch Truth Social and go back to Twitter and make noise which will irritate many as is his modus operandi.

My suggestion is that Mr. Trump release information on Truth Social first, then release it on the other websites after a delay, perhaps several hours or maybe the next day. That way the subscribers have a reason to continue to subscribe, and the people on the other sites also eventually see the information.

A Republican congresswoman blasted House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's threats to boot three outspoken Democrats off committees on Tuesday. Indiana Rep. Victoria Spartz dismissed the GOP leader's efforts as 'bread and circuses' and called on him to 'start governing for a change' in the searing statement.  McCarthy has vowed to remove Democrat Reps. Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff of California from the House select committee on Intelligence, while threatening to remove progressive Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar off the Foreign Affairs Committee. It's payback for Democrats voting to strip hard-right GOP Reps. Paul Gosar of Arizona and Marjorie Taylor Greene of George of their committee assignments in the last Congress.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced Monday that she intends to introduce legislation declaring antifa "domestic terrorists." "America is just sick and tired of antifa," Greene told Fox News host Tucker Carlson. "Look at what they've done over years now. Just from 2020, they're responsible for nearly $2 billion in damage and many people dead, but the war is against the police, and the reason why is because antifa is the ground troops of the Democrat Party." Greene's remarks come days after antifa caused chaos in Atlanta Saturday, smashing windows and lighting a police car on fire.

On Tuesday evening, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy went nuclear on reporters over a question of whether or not Adam Schiff will be allowed to serve on Intel committees in the future. “What did Adam Schiff do as the chairman of the Intel committee? What Adam Schiff did is use his power at the chairman and lied to the American public,” McCarthy began. “When Devon Nunes put out a memo, he [Schiff] said it was false. When we had a laptop, he [Schiff] used it before the election to be politics and say that it was false, he said it was the Russians when he knew different,” he said.

In March 2022, hundreds of students at Yale Law School disrupted a panel with Kristen Waggoner, a conservative lawyer who has argued religious liberty cases before the Supreme Court, arguing that her presence was a "slap in the face" to "queer students." Yale's response to the incident left the school with egg on its face: Though the protest clearly violated Yale's free speech policies, which do not allow protesters to disrupt speakers, not a single student was disciplined. Now Waggoner is returning to Yale Law for another talk. And this time, administrators aren't leaving anything to chance, banning press and anyone without a Yale Law School ID, including undergraduate students,

The Penn Biden Center, a Washington think tank where classified documents were found in November, hosted an event encouraging deeper U.S.-China ties. The event took place as the University of Pennsylvania received tens of millions of dollars from Chinese entities, much of which was donated anonymously. The Penn Biden Center was the repository of a stash of classified U.S. documents until President Joe Biden’s personal attorneys found the papers in the president’s office on November 2. In June, the center hosted a two-day event for Congressional staffers that encouraged closer cooperation with China

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced legislation Monday to ban “205 military-style assault weapons by name” and prohibit transfer of “high capacity” magazines. Feinstein cited the January 21, 2023, Monterey Park shooting as the impetus for the reintroduction of the “assault weapons” ban. She said, “We were tragically reminded this weekend of the deadly nature of assault weapons when a shooter used one to kill 11 people and injure 9 more at a Lunar New Year celebration in California.” However, Feinstein’s proposed ban would not have prevented the suspected gunman from possessing the gun used in the attack.

As interest rates continue to skyrocket, home prices across the country have continued to plummet — and Goldman Sachs says the declines will only worsen and extend through 2023. In a note to clients earlier this month, Goldman Sachs forecasted that four American cities in particular should gear up for a seismic decline compared to that of the 2008 housing crash. San Jose, California; Austin, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; and San Diego, California will likely see boom and bust declines of more than 25%. Such declines would rival those seen around 15 years ago during the Great Recession.

But Democrats accuse Republicans of setting up the possibility of prohibiting a debt ceiling hike, which would make the government unable to fund all of its current obligations.
