I was thinking yesterday that we haven’t heard much about this recently. Today the Wall Street Journal reports there has been some progress in narrowing down the list of suspects but still no definitive conclusion.

Former and current Biden administration officials have reportedly blamed the National Archives for mishandling President Joe Biden’s classified documents stashed in three separate locations.
According to a Friday CNN report that cited “former and current administration officials and others familiar with the process,” the National Archives refused to treat then-Vice President Biden’s records with the “same high regard” as it did former President Obama’s records.
“While the National Archives sends staff members to the White House to gather files and papers of the President, they do not treat all vice presidential papers with the same high regard, officials said,” CNN reported.
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the U.S. will hit its debt limit on January 19, at which point the Treasury Department will take “extraordinary measures” to avoid default.
She called on Congress to raise the debt ceiling as soon as possible, with the government on track to max out on its $31.4 trillion borrowing authority next week. Without intervention, the government could be left unable to pay its bills by June.

At least six people were killed in Alabama Thursday during a tornado outbreak that devastated parts of the state, including the historic city of Selma.
The fatalities were reported in Autauga County, just northwest of Montgomery, and more deaths are possible, Sheriff David Hill told WSFA.
In Selma, the same violent storm system that ripped through the Southern US, spurred a massive tornado that touched down just after noon and caused “significant damages” to the city – destroying homes, flipping vehicles and downing trees.

A veteran took down a knife-wielding man who was threatening employees and shoppers at a South Carolina Walmart last Wednesday, video of the incident shows.

The Canadian Girl Scouts have dropped the name Brownie in favor of Embers after the term was deemed 'racist' and 'offended' some of its members.
The name change was announced by Girl Guides of Canada on Wednesday to create a more inclusive space for the seven and eight-year-old girls branch, according to a news release by Girl Guides.
'With this new name we're showing girls that what they say matters, and that Girl Guides is a place for everyone to belong,' according to a tweet Girl Guides posted.

In one of their final acts in power, House Democrats secretly passed through a rule change that will see lawmakers in the lower chamber get a $34,000 pay raise.

Washington - The US government has received over 350 new reports of what the US government terms "unidentified aerial phenomenon," commonly known as UFOs, since March of 2021 -- roughly half of which are so far unexplained, according to a report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence released on Thursday.
According to the report, the Pentagon office responsible for tracking and studying the sightings has preliminarily identified 163 of the reports as "balloon or balloon-entities." A handful of other reports have been attributed to drones, birds, weather events or airborne debris like plastic bags.
