Payback: McCarthy confirms that these
three Dems will get stripped of committee assignments

Original Article

Precedent set by Nancy Pelosi, precedent followed by Kevin McCarthy. In the previous session of the House, Pelosi stripped Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments over a “like” on a tweet that suggested someone start shooting House Democrats — for which Greene later apologized. Now that the gavel has returned to the GOP, McCarthy plans to return the favor for three House Democrats — but really just one: Why just one? Eric Swalwell’s time on Intel was already up, and Omar’s assignment was subject to a House vote anyway: The move is largely symbolic, as Swalwell is already due to be rotated off his committee, and Omar’s assignment

Have I missed something? Kevin McCarthy is officially Speaker and now the House is conducting its business. Isn’t there usually an official big deal public swearing in ceremony where that huge gavel is passed to the new speaker by the old speaker. I’ve been looking forward to watching how Pelosi would handle the humiliation of having to perform this ritual (rudely for certain) but it seems like we aren’t going to have the pleasure of viewing that moment.

I would have preferred stripping them of all committees as was done to Marjorie Taylor Green and later Rep. Gosar of Arizona. McCarthy should have doubled what the Democrats did. Maxine Waters should be included for her constant calls for violence against her enemies.

#2, It did happen after right after McCarthy was elected in the middle of the night. Jeffries got up and went on an anti-Republican rant for a few minutes and then passed the gavel to Kevin. Pelosi was in the chamber but did not participate. She wasn’t about to physically hand over the gavel to McCarthy. Jeffries gave a partisan speech that was anything but uniting. It was a political speech in the manner of Obama’s 2004 speech at the DNC convention. He was setting himself up for bigger and better things. Keep an eye on this guy, he believes he is Obama 2.0 and is just as arrogant and anti-American.

Not revenge: just common sense. A man who has slept (and slept and slept) with a Communist honey trap spy should not be on Intelligence. A man who says one thing CONSTANTLY to CNN, NBC et al (Schiff). and then says the opposite under oath where he could be charged, should also not be on Intel, and we are not even talking his leaks. As to Inhan Omar the list, the anti Semeticisms etc. are too vast to mention........this is a woman who plays the system like a violin. These people should never ever have been on their committees, and just show the iron will of Nancy Pelosi and the total weakness and capitulation of the Press.

#2, I caught this. And I remember how class newt Gingrich showed in 1995 when he became Speaker. He handed the gavel to Dick Gephardt first, to call the House in session. I also remember how the media wet their pants, raving how Nancy Pelosi took the gavel while holding her grandchild in her arms. She can do it all, reporters said.

Bumbling FAA Focused on 'LGBTQI+' Inclusivity,

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been focused on “LGBTQI+” inclusivity and “gender-neutral” language under President Joe Biden — even as it has struggled to manage the nation’s commercial air traffic. On Wednesday, the FAA ordered the first nationwide “ground stop” since Sep. 11, 2001, after a computer system failed overnight, grounding thousands of flights and throwing the country’s air traffic into chaos. It was the second crisis in as many months, after a winter storm snarled air travel during the holiday season. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg blamed Southwest Airlines, whose personnel management system caused company-wide cancelations that accounted for much of the nationwide disruption. But the FAA’s own systems

The Pentagon is formally dropping a controversial COVID-19 vaccine mandate for troops, according to a memo from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. President Joe Biden signed a defense policy bill just before Christmas that included a provision cleared by the House and the Senate to repeal the administration’s military vaccine mandate. The National Defense Authorization Act terminated the COVID-19 vaccine for military members but did not reinstate those who were discharged or had their benefits cut for refusing the vaccine. Reinstatement has become a priority for some Republicans who said the strict mandate is among the reasons why military recruitment is at an all-time low.
