Chicagoans in the Woodlawn neighborhood continue to voice their opposition to the city's plan to place a migrant shelter at a closed school amid the historic crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, going as far as to say migrants should be sent to Latino-majority neighborhoods. One resident said at a protest on Thursday the migrants, who most assuredly will be from South America, should be sent to the Little Village neighborhood, a mostly Mexican area. "I am here because I am a child of Woodlawn. I was born and raised in Woodlawn. And I am speaking on behalf of the people that are here

I can't think of any reason those folks should stand by silently so Joe's "invitees" can have a "better life" at their expense. These are American citizens. They deserve, like we all do, to come FIRST in their own country. Instead, they are being shoved aside and disrespected, so that Democrats can illegally increase the imported poverty in the US, thereby increasing wealth transfers away from the citizens who earned it. These protestors are Americans who love their communities. They have every right to object to what this administration is trying to do to them. Biden invited the new arrivals to come to the US "to be heard." These Americans are catching on to the fact that Democrats, so eager to listen to illegal aliens, have no interest at all in hearing from American citizens.

The majestic structures of ancient Rome have survived for millennia — a testament to the ingenuity of Roman engineers, who perfected the use of concrete. But how did their construction materials help keep colossal buildings like the Pantheon (which has the world's largest unreinforced dome) and the Colosseum standing for more than 2,000 years? Roman concrete, in many cases, has proven to be longer-lasting than its modern equivalent, which can deteriorate within decades. Now, scientists behind a new study say they have uncovered the mystery ingredient that allowed the Romans to make their construction material so durable and build elaborate structures in challenging places such as docks, sewers and earthquake zones.
