Patti Davis, actress and youngest daughter of the late President Reagan gave Prince Harry some sage yet unsolicited advice ahead of the release of his memoir, "Spare." In an OpEd written for the New York Times, Davis, 70 cautioned the Duke of Sussex to be judicious with his candor. "My justification in writing a book I now wish I hadn’t written…was very similar to what I understand to be Harry’s reasoning. I wanted to tell the truth, I wanted to set the record straight. Naïvely, I thought if I put my own feelings and my own truth out there for the world to read, my family might also come to understand

I think the difference between Patty and Harry wanting to "get the truth out" is Patty didn't have MEGHAN standing over her shoulder nagging about everyone hating her! I think this whole mess falls on Meghan. Harry was perfectly happy until Meghan came along and told him he was unhappy. The stories of her being nasty to the Help and causing Two of them to quit and then was Rude to Kate's help which started the fight between the Brothers when Kate told her to leave her help alone and then William also told Meghan she was Rude. I believe she is the Wicked Witch of the West. She wants to be Queen and hates the fact that she never will be and that she has to curtsy to Kate! I would bet every single hateful thing Harry is said to have written came from Meghan telling him to write it. She won't be happy until the Royals are blown to smithereens!

I fear you are right, #9. Meaghan is so toxic, there is no telling where this might end. Patti’s wisdom and peace will never be Meaghan’s and Harry’s. Harry is being played and will end up very bitter and lost.

I'm glad Pity Patti is finally growing up - - at age 70. Two ironies - - #1 - - President Reagan's two biological children were huge disappointments - - but his adopted son has been a huge success. #2 - - The wrong half of his marriage to Nancy gave up acting. She was a terrific actress - - and he was a mediocre actor. But it worked out well in the end - - because if he weren't a mediocre actor - - he never would have been a great president!

“My own truth” There’s problem #1 right there. There is factual truth and there are lies and that’s it. Truth can’t be truth when it is something that someone wants or needs it to be, rather than what it really is.

I think there are subjective perceptions & variations of the one objective truth - not my truth, or your truth. That said, silence is indeed golden when it comes to airing harmful opinions. Harry has broken something far more important than a necklace, and much more difficult to repair. I hope he realizes it and works toward Patti’s advice about being quiet, and does what he can to repair the damage in private.

I remember well how she (and to a lesser extent her brother Ron) went out of their way to humiliate both of their parents while her father was POTUS. It was every bit as vicious as what Harry and Meghan are doing now. I give her credit for admitting how wrong she was then and apologizing to her father even if it was later than it should have been.

With age comes wisdom. Patti Davis has learned over the years that just because she saw it that way, doesn't mean that is the way it really happened. Everyone thinks things occur from their point of view only. Only when you see the entire picture can you know the truth. Be quiet Harry. Your "truth" is irrelevant.

Life expectancy in the United States is at its lowest level since 1996. Teen suicide rates spiked nearly 30 percent in the last decade. Though drug overdose deaths declined from a record high in 2021, they remain 50 percent higher than just five years ago. Over the coming weeks, a new band of Republicans will announce themselves as candidates in the next presidential race. The frontrunners will be scrappy populists. Today’s most successful center-right politicians are not only champions of the common man but energetic opponents of the idea that our society needs reordering by credentialed authorities. Ron DeSantis grew up in a blue-collar family, worked his way into Yale with his brains and baseball talent, then went home and built a political career on the idea that “people are able to make decisions on their own.” Florida’s navigation of the COVID crisis, says the governor, established “a blueprint for governance” that rebukes “the entrenched elites”

The frail, mentally incompetent 80-year-old President of the United States wants to serve in the most demanding position in the world for another six years. Unfortunately, this is no joke, as Biden administration insiders are reporting that the President is preparing to soon announce his re-election campaign kickoff. Having President Joe Biden even entertain such a possibility is pure lunacy. Biden is certainly mentally incompetent, and his faculties are in serious decline. For years, Americans have witnessed his never-ending gaffes and his propensity for forgetfulness. Often, he even has difficulty exiting the stage after a speech.

Stop the pearl-clutching, my fellow Republicans. This drama over the House speakership is the best thing that could have happened. Well, maybe not the best thing: that would have been a 30-vote Republican majority in the House. That would have stopped the Democrats' big spending, radical leftist agenda dead in its tracks. That would have let the speaker of the House to tell Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., to pound sand. But the supermajority didn’t happen. So, House Republicans need to change tactics. Schumer is no longer Speaker McCarthy’s biggest obstacle. It’s now his Republican counterpart on the other side of the Capitol–Senate Minority Leader and profligate spender

The ascendance of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as the 55th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives may have come with all of the spontaneity of a shotgun wedding — but it finally came. McCarthy deserved better than a tortuous three-day floor fight but, then again, he is now second in line to the presidency. Many of us have great sympathy for McCarthy, who looked like a guy caught in a feedback loop stepping on the same rake over and over again. (For the record, I opposed the floor fight, given the overwhelming support for McCarthy.) However, as is often the case in Washington, the narrative opposing these holdouts allowed

The “Nation of Immigrants” narrative was invented in the 1950s by advocates for more migration. As I’ve said in the past, I’ve never been a fan of the silliness of labeling political opponents. This is not to be confused with humorous “nicknames” — the most clever of which I enjoy, and have coined a few — but rather attempting to paint an adversary into a particular corner defined by you. Third-party “you,” that is. And of course, the most popular label by far among certain factions of the Republican Party is “RINO.” The definition of “RINO” — Republican in Name Only — not only used to be easy to understand; it was easy to identify Republicans who fit the RINO mold.
