A befuddled President Biden casually maligned the Irish while botching his wife’s family history during a gaffe-filled appearance in Delaware on Friday. “I may be Irish, but I’m not stupid,” Biden inexplicably said as he greeted 102-year-old World War II veteran Ray Firmani during a town hall on veterans’ benefits in New Castle, Del. “I married Dominic Giacoppa’s daughter,” Biden continued. “So, you know, I got a little Italian in me now, you know?” The audience of military veterans and federal officials received the off-script comments in puzzled silence — but critics on Twitter took comic umbrage at the ethnic

A major snowstorm may be brewing over the central and eastern U.S. in the days before Christmas with the potential to complicate holiday travel. The likelihood of a "potential blockbuster system" hitting before Christmas is increasing, AccuWeather forecasters said, although high-confidence forecasts for Christmas Day are still several days away. The storm is also expected to coincide with an outbreak of Arctic air forecast to drop temperatures to "bone-chilling levels," according to AccuWeather. The National Weather Service forecast below-average temperatures in the days before Christmas throughout most of the country, including the East Coast, South and Midwest, as the Arctic

EL PASO, Texas – With the influx of migrants likely to top 5,000 per day, El Paso city and county leaders plan to work with non-governmental organizations, or NGOs, to bus people to Dallas, Houston and other cities with major airport hubs, allowing migrants to be transported to points across the U.S. In an exclusive interview with The Dallas Morning News, El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego said the city and county will prepare for the number of arrivals to double from a daily average of 2,400 after a pandemic-related public health order expires on Dec. 21, based on a federal

A black California businessman demanded $600,000 from California taxpayers during the first meeting of the state's reparations task force on Wednesday. Deliberations began on how to quantify how financial compensation might be calculated and what might be required to prove eligibility. One of those who spoke at the public hearing was 35-year-old entrepreneur and the first black professional tri-athlete, Max Fennell who said that every person should get $350,000 in compensation to close the racial wealth gap and Black-owned businesses should receive $250,000, which would help them to flourish. Fennell added: 'It's a debt that's owed, we worked for free,'

EL PASO, Texas – Migrants in El Paso could soon face a dire situation as temperatures drop below freezing and shelters exceed capacity, Deputy City Manager Mario D’Agostino said Tuesday. "Our issue is now that we're looking at capacity within our shelter system," D’Agostino said during a virtual press conference addressing the new surge of immigrants. Coupled with cold weather and even snow flurries, he said there's an "added strain" on the system. About 2,500 people are crossing into the United States near El Paso every day, according to Border Patrol. That's a nearly 50% increase from September's wave of

A video of Joe Biden appearing to walk around aimlessly while holding toys has gone viral on Twitter, with many ridiculing the president and claiming the clip was digitally altered. The clip showed Biden handling toys alongside some children and adults while at an event earlier in the week. The video has so far been viewed more than 880,000 times. Biden and the first lady, Jill Biden, were participating in a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots event at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, Virginia, on Monday, when the footage was filmed. The City of Denver continues to call on nonprofits and religious groups to help out as it struggles to meet the needs of migrants. They are arriving by the dozens this month, and it's likely this is just the beginning. The city says 600 migrants have arrived in Denver in the recent months. Right now more than 150 are being accommodated at the city's emergency shelter. A total of 48 others have been relocated to a church-run shelter, and another 52 migrants arrived earlier this week at local homeless shelters. The city's main focus now is getting those who need

SAN FRANCISCO -- David DePape, a fringe activist drawn to conspiracy theories, returned to a courtroom Wednesday for a preliminary hearing stemming from the brutal October assault of 82-year-old Paul Pelosi in the family's San Francisco home. Wearing an orange jumpsuit, DePape sat at the defense table. In the crowded courtroom was Christine Pelosi, one of the Pelosis' five adult children. The hearing got off to a quick start with prosecutors playing audio of Paul Pelosi's 911 call to San Francisco police. The audio recording was followed by one of the SFPD officers -- officer Kyle Cagney -- who responded to the home

Winter storms are pummeling the United States, snow is piling up, temperatures are dropping, traffic is snarling and there’s always the threat of thunderstorms and thundersnow. Just like clockwork, the emails, tweets and Facebook posts start flowing. Maybe it's a joke, maybe it's a snarky critique, maybe it's a meme. The words change, but the format is familiar: If global warming is real, why is it so cold out? Scientists likely don't think that joke is as funny as another familiar climate change quip: Never argue about climate change – it always turns into a heated debate. But we asked

Cambridge Dictionary changed the definition of the word “woman” and critics are not happy about it. Christopher Rufo, a fellow at the Manhattan Institute, shared the new definition on Twitter. According to the dictionary, a woman is “an adult who lives and identifies as female though they may have been said to have a different sex at birth.” The dictionary includes two examples of using the word. “She was the first trans woman elected to a national office,” one example states. Another reads, “Mary is a woman who was assigned male at birth.” (Tweet) Attorney Marina Medvin reacted, saying, “Imagine

DENVER - The Colorado Secretary of State certified the 2022 General Election on Monday. “The certification was conducted after each county’s bipartisan canvass boards submitted their official abstract of votes to the Secretary of State’s Office, as well as the conclusion of a mandatory recount in the race for Colorado’s U.S. Congressional District 3 and permissive recount of the Colorado House District 43 race,” part of a news release from the Secretary of State’s Office reads. The race for U.S. Congressional District 3 went to an automatic recount because of how close it was. Incumbent Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert officially

Washington DC will permanently offer free bus rides on all routes from next summer and other big cities like Boston and Denver may follow suit in what would be America's biggest public transport shakeup in years. Under a plan agreed unanimously by Washington DC's council last week, the city will expand its transport services and waive the $2 fares for riders boarding Metrobuses within city limits from around July 1. During the Covid-19 pandemic, cities from Los Angeles to Missouri and New York stopped collecting bus fares to cut human contact and ensure residents could reach jobs and services at

What is most notable is the POTUS is walking back and forth through crowds of kids and some adults, and hardly anyone pays any attention to him. He's just some guy off the street moving toys from Pile A to Pile B while the cameras are rolling.
