Democrat Christy Smith knows she'll lose
her congressional race. She blames her
own party

The race for a hotly contested Los Angeles-area congressional district had not been called, but Democrat Christy Smith sensed she would end up on the losing end. And she felt there was a clear reason why. “Our campaign got next-to-zero outside resources to fight this battle. In fact, I was fighting the institutional power of my own party from the outset of this race,” Smith said in a scathing series of remarks on Twitter. With no help on the airwaves and little elsewhere from Democratic Party committees and PACs, “we didn’t stand a chance.” Smith is no different from scores

Comments:

Some Dems were left hung out to dry and are furious. Republican Mike Garcia is up about 10 points in this race.

An easy calculation determined that Christy Smith had no chance to win no matter how much money was routed to her campaign.

So it wasn't inflation, open borders, energy dependence, and woke idiocy? It was that you could not raise enough donor money? Nice!

His TV ads were positive and illustrated what he wanted to do for his constituents. He didn't mention anything about a stolen election, which is now very toxic. I noticed the Democrats didn't really attack candidates who were more moderate (need to be in CA) and didn't question the 2020 election. Rep. Young Kim and Rep. Michelle Steele also won their newly formed districts. Interesting thing in CA, now that they enacted Proposition 1 that enshrined no-restriction abortion in the State Constitution, it won't be a campaign item for Democrats any longer. How many voters will now feel they have the ability to vote their conscience, and not be concerned with idea it may be something possibly taken away so they vote the extreme Progressive Democrat candidate.

Many on the internet have cast doubt over whether Aldrich genuinely identifies as non-binary, raising concerns that this might be simply a move to harm the LGBTQ community from an individual who now stands accused of committing a hate crime against queer people. Murkowski is considered to be one of the more centrist Republican voices in Congress, and her win could help President Joe Biden pass his agenda as well as extend her clout in the closely divided Senate. Neither Murkowski nor Tshibaka, the top two candidates in the four-person race, reached the 50% threshold needed for an outright win, which meant the winner was decided by ranked-choice tabulation that was announced on Wednesday.
