President Joe Biden told a climate activist on Sunday he would not allow any new drilling in the United States, just days after he complained that oil companies are not drilling enough. “No more drilling. There is no more drilling,” Biden said, speaking to a climate activist as he finished up a rally in New York for Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY). “I haven’t formed any new drilling.” A young woman standing front and center held up a sign protesting Biden for allowing drilling on federal lands. The activist responded to Biden by noting there is still offshore drilling in the Antarctic and off of the Gulf of Mexico. “That was before

With his advanced-stage dementia, I'm sure that Senile Joe bidet has absolutely no memory of where he told American oil companies to start drilling more less than a week ago! I know that all he is mentally still capable of is reading the stuff his unelected communist puppet masters hand him to read. And if he reads it good, then that nice (but sort of ugly) lady -- Dr. Jill -- will pat him on his head, say "good job", and give him extra milk and cookies before his next nap.

I have said this before. Why isn't the RNC or any R candidate running ads showing US drilling and how clean it is, etc as compared to drilling in Russia, Iran, etc? And ad asking: why does Biden want to buy filthy oil pumped by men working under bad conditions from overseas when we could be buying our own oil pumped under the strictest environmental and worker safety conditions in the world? We actually reduced our carbon emissions under Trump because of our increase use of natural gas.

"No more drilling, no more fracking, no more Coal, no more power plants, no more Nukes, no more pipelines, no more Oil/Gas leases, all federal lands off limits, including the lands set aside specifically for Defense Dept Oil and gas production" after arriving in a five jet, cross country airborne flotilla, a 50 vehicle motorcade...hitting Calif and NY on the same day. Biden has now done MORE campaign events for these midterms than he did for his entire Presidential run.

"Whether the Program constitutes good public policy is not the role of this Court to determine. Still, no one can plausibly deny that it is either one of the largest delegations of legislative power to the executive branch, or one of the largest exercises of legislative power without congressional authority in the history of the United States,"

In Shakespeare’s All’s Well that Ends Well, one character observes, “Oft expectation fails and most oft there where most it promises.” And so it was for Republicans on Tuesday night. What was projected to be a “red wave” or a “red tsunami” became—at best—a red trickle. By almost any standard, the midterms proved disappointing for Republicans. In battleground House races across the country, Republican candidates faltered. The GOP looks likely to pick up only a handful of House seats; while narrow House control seems in sight, the door has closed on a 2014-size majority. The Senate may prove even more of a disappointment.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who chairs the Senate’s Energy and Natural Resources Committee, has come out in opposition to President Biden’s renomination of an interstate energy regulator. Manchin spokesperson Sam Runyon said via email that the senator is “not comfortable holding a hearing” on the confirmation of Richard Glick for another term on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Runyon’s brief email did not elaborate on Manchin’s reasoning. Glick’s term on the energy commission expired over the summer, but he’s allowed to serve until the end of the year. Manchin’s position, which was first reported by Bloomberg Law, comes amid both new tensions

An old proverb says that the dogs bark, but the caravan goes on. In an updated version, Donald Trump plays the noisy dog as Ron DeSantis marches to victory. The Florida governor won a smashing blowout Tuesday by routing Democrat Charlie Crist by nearly 19 points, a margin that no poll predicted. He followed that with a raucous speech that was both a celebration and a skillfully worded test of national themes as he declared, “Florida is where woke goes to die.” And, likely referring to the fact that he won Miami-Dade County, a longtime Democratic stronghold that is 70% Latino, by double digits, DeSantis declared,

Washington — It was supposed to be a red wave that former President Donald Trump could triumphantly ride to the Republican nomination as he prepares to launch another White House run. Instead, Tuesday night’s disappointing results for the GOP are raising new questions about Trump’s appeal and the future of a party that has fully embraced him, seemingly at its peril, while at the same time giving new momentum to his most potent potential rival. Indeed, some allies were calling on Trump to delay his planned announcement next week, saying the party’s full focus needs to be on Georgia, where Trump-backed football great Herschel Walker’s effort to unseat

The thinking is Mr. Walker’s close ties to Mr. Trump — who prodded him to move back home to Georgia from Texas for the Senate race — will weigh down his run while the Trump announcement also energizes Democratic voters and turns off some Republicans. “If he announces like they say, the second or third week of November, before the December [runoff] election, oh, my God …we’re praying that he does it,”

A consensus is emerging among Republicans that it is time for Donald Trump to get off the stage and stop damaging his party and his country. It is reflected in tomorrow’s New York Post cover: In the same paper, John Podhoretz, never a Trump fan, writes: “Here’s how Donald Trump sabotaged the Republican midterms.” Trump’s record is bleak. Liberal fundraisers actually put money behind Trump-endorsed candidates in GOP primaries all over the place to help them prevail so that Democrats could face them in the general election. Donald Trump is continuing to treat Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis like a political enemy. On Wednesday, Trump pooh-poohed DeSantis’s huge and historic victory by insisting that his 2020 win in Florida was bigger. “Now that the Election in Florida is over, and everything went quite well, shouldn’t it be said that in 2020, I got 1.1 Million more votes in Florida than Ron D got this year, 5.7 Million to 4.6 Million? Just asking?” Trump won Florida in 2020 by 3.4-point margin, while DeSantis won reelection by a 19.45-point margin. Sorry, Trump, I think DeSantis’s victory is far more impressive. Pennsylvania Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman was winning the outstanding in-person and absentee votes in Philadelphia and in a suburban county. That meant essentially that most of Dr. Mehmet Oz’s votes had been counted and allowed the Associated Press to call the race early Wednesday for Fetterman. At times early in the cycle, it seemed Fetterman would run away with the election after handily defeating his primary opponents, but Oz tightened the race, attacking Fetterman as soft on crime and relentlessly questioning whether his Democratic counterpart was fit to serve after he suffered a stroke in May.

As vote counts continue to be posted, it is clear that Republican hopes and dreams of a huge wave election have been dashed. With 98% of the vote counted, Marco Rubio has a 16.4% landslide lead over Senate challenger Val Demings, and Governor Ron DeSantis has a 19.4% lead, a gigantic increase over his fraction of one percent squeaker victory 4 years ago.
