Trump Warns Ron DeSantis About Running
in 2024: ‘Could Hurt Himself Very Badly’

Original Article

Posted By: Solid_Oak, 11/9/2022 1:07:09 PM

Former President Donald Trump fired another warning shot at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, warning that he “could hurt himself very badly” if he ran in 2024. snip Trump then alluded to exposing some dirt on DeSantis without specifying. “I would tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering — I know more about him than anybody — other than, perhaps, his wife,” Trump said.

Comments:

This is over-the-top and totally unacceptable behavior. Trump is politically destroying himself, and he's willing to take the Republican Party with him unless he is put out to pasture with our thanks for four good years (policy wise). BTW, a lot of what happened last night lies at Trump's feet. Nobody energizes the Dems and many independents like Trump.

This is why I, a former Trump supporter, am OUT. This is truly THUGGISH behavior! It will be interesting to see, by the way, if The Donald can restrain himself on Nov. 15th, from announcing he is running for President, as there really is no hurry beyond ego. It looks like there will be a Warnock/Walker runoff in early November and announcing would be a blow to Walker, who already has a big needle to thread. Enough voters hate Trump, or have concerns about him, that this would cost Walker votes for sure.

If neither Walker nor Warnock rmakes 50% there will be a runoff in early December. This would be ancient history by then, IMO.

Each person has to determine for themselves if they run, or not. It is a long way until 2024, and after these midterms, it is an open question whether a Republican can win the Presidency in 2024.

Our resident Rovian Romneybots are out early and in full force, posting and seconding. They have been planning for this day to block the people who have denied them the power they so crave and so misuse on behalf of the political class. Washington is a failure. The federal government is a failure. The republican is facing extinction by a combination of socialists, globalists, Chinese compromised Senators and former presidents and republican establishment grifters who have profited for two generations now without principle at the expense of the American people who go to Church, built things, raised families. And the Bushies, Romneybots, and others who take their orders of group think from Rove and the RNC, and who have sat here under several names in an effort to coopt this Salon into another outlet for that same mediocre establishment status quo political class group think are now back, urging the free thinkers to join the parade now following another Harvard and Yale puppet. If Ron DeSantis is trying to disguise himself as something other than a tool for the out of power republicans who fear Trump, the TParty and the limited government and antiglobalism that those principles advance, he is no better than voting for Jeb Bush. That makes him a liar of the highest order, no different than MItt Romney in 2012. He and his supporters need to be identified and exposed today, not next week or next year, but now, to avoid that " why didn't anyone tell me Romney was a trud" epiphany down the road. Take a cabinet spot, Take down the department of education. Reform HHS. Blow up the FBI. Accomplish something other than sounding like Trump with better etiquette. As we saw from last night, civility is for losers these days.

Plenty of blame to throw around. What did the GOPe do to support Conservative candidates? I don't think Trump can carry the full load alone. It doesn't help when he lets his ego lead. But the Never Trumpers have done so much to tarnish him and they are just thrilled that they are now getting some of his supporters to abandon him. Trump is not our biggest problem. Ramona (the Pest)

Trump is done and I,too, am done with Trump. Voted for him contributed to him, but he screwed this midterm up badly. You can't fight everyone and the Mitch and Paul Ryan deep state in his own party screwed over Trump's picks. Trump needs to go away, literally and figuratively, and reflect on what happened here. Biden and the Democrats made this all about Trump and they scared people. No one else has said it yet, but I believe the Pelosi rendition of Jussie Smollett worked in the Democrats favor by the press blaming the right for it. Pauly P got caught burying the hammer with his "friend" David and Nancy turned it into a win.

Re #11, yes. They crawl out of the woodwork every election. Some now grudgngly admit that the Trump years were pretty darned good for America and its people. They have been put off by ditsy little stuff since DJT first came on the scene. Remind of the clucking Church Lady or those dreadful gossips in the Music Man. I just wish he wouldn’t give fodder to those who are out to get him. There are always those who say they’re done. Out. They may never have been in. Best ignored. Contrary to what some still try to label us, Deplorables are not cultists nor are we lemmings. We don’t need anyone to make our minds up for us.

I trust Trump and I want him to tell us what he knows about DeSantis. If DeSantis is planning on running for running for POTUS he might as well get it out there himself before others do. Is he part of the establishment or not? Trump has been through the fire and nothing has stuck. Trump has no baggage. He says what he thinks -- and I like that. He's not the one who sent the justice department after his opposition like the establishment did.

FWIW, I think everyone needs to be very careful here. We need to let the dust settle and in a UNITED fashion go after the prize in '24. If Pres Trump goes full attack after Desantis he will not be viewed kindly. But it will take its toll on the prospect of success in 2024. I believe the wiser thing would be to let the situation settle down a bit before action. At least wait until after the Georgia runoff.

Trump is the defacto leader of the republican party, who has lost the last three elections that mattered. The 2018 midterms, 2020 general and the 2022 midterms. All he has successfully done is get his mini mese through the primaries, where they mostly get trounced. He's raised hundreds of millions that haven't gone to candidates. I'm far less interested in what he did 4 years ago. What is he doing for us today? Because we can't afford another two years of Trump's "winning". He needs to EARN the nomination again. Not just have it surrendered because he'll have a hissey fit otherwise.

I no longer recognize this version of Donald Trump. The U.S. would today be so far better off if he had been re-elected President, and he probably lost because of voter fraud, but he's blowing it day-by-day. He should be congratulating Ron DeSantis! For the good of our country, and for himself. on November 14 he should announce that he will neither seek nor accept the nomination for President. Sadly, the insane Democrat hatred against him has won. It's unfair of course, but it's reality. If he runs the Democrats will probably re-commence their riots in the streets, whereby Republicans may therefore conclude that's such unrest and turmoil is just not worth it and will have no practical alternative except to nominate another candidate, possibly, if not probably, Ron Desantis.

Come on people, Fox Digital? Fox has been trying to destroy President Trump for ever! Please stop clutching your pearls! We are in a fight for our lives and our Republic, and if the Left and the Swamp can get us fighting among ourselves then they have won! Stop it! Take a deep breath and wait a few days and see if this story is truly, true. And if there's a back story. And stop this nonsense of going after Trump's ego! What do you think has kept Pres. Trump going all these years with all these political attacks? His ego! If he didn't have that, he would be in a big puddle like many of you that couldn't take an ounce of political attack, financial and personal attack that he has. So give PDJT a break and calm down. You want a president with enough ego to fight back, don't you? Did Bush have enough ego to fight back when president? Hell no! So thank God Donald Trump has enough of an ego to fight back against the fake media, big tech, big corp., big pharma and the Swamp. Remember the Word of God: A house divided against itself cannot stand.

Trump had three good years and we all prospered. It was accomplished through executive orders and it was all very quickly undone through executive orders. His fourth year in office was an unmitigated disaster. Our cities burned and few were held accountable. Trump was rolled by Fauci and our businesses shut down, schools and churches were closed and the people put on masks and socially distanced from each other out of fear. He turned the Covid response over to Pence who was no friend of the administration despite being Trump’s VP. Vaccines were rushed through and turned out to be very dangerous. Jan 6th was a disaster for Republicans and many have been jailed for a couple of years in deplorable conditions and without due process. They are all, without exception, Trump supporters. Where is Trump? He is holding rallies whining about a stolen election and the fake news. The Republicans were warned that the Dems had a plan in place to steal the election. He is a thin skinned egotist and our country deserves better. We need strength, integrity, truth and a vision for the future of this great country. DeSantis fills the bill and would return dignity to the Oval Office. Like other posters, I voted for Trump twice and generously donated to his campaigns. Enough!!

Trump had great ideas, but his personality did not let him develop support in the media, in congress…or ultimately voters. He is also nearing 80. We still enjoy his energy, his personality exudes during rallies, his directions for America…I like…and yet…he fouled himself last night, and we don’t need that in our elected leaders. And we certainly do not need another Algernon president, declining even as we watch.

Who are these posters? Some I know and some are very new. Nevertheless, writing President Trump’s obituary is a bit premature. I find it amusing that the very ones accusing President Trump of being mean are the ones on here flaying him alive. I guess that’s okay though. While I will give you the fact that he does need to temper his comments, I trust him to lead this country in the right direction. His potential opponents? I am not sure of right now. Are they already compromised and beholden? Trump showed his mettle against entrenched and powerful enemies, and he still had the most successful Presidency in modern history. I guess we just forget that ever happened, right? The guy has been fighting a battle most of us could never imagine day in and day out since 2015. It has not let up one day. Give the guy a break. Most men would have crumbled by now. He is understandably in fight or flight mode. I get it. However, I also agree that he has to be smarter than his detractors. I would urge him to look forward. Tell us what he can do and will do and why. He has the message, the experience, and the record. Focus on that, Mr. President. You have what others could only wish for, the record and an enthusiastic base. Don’t let your ego rule your brain. Get some people around you who will tell you the truth and then listen to them. We have seen those times you have shown greatness. We need to see that side again. Give the brawler a break. Bring back the guy who gave that beautiful speech at the United Nations and other times you articulated your vision for this country. Leave the pettiness to the media. It’s their forte anyway. Take away the cutting comments and half of the criticism will evaporate. Your detractors won’t know what to do or say. Why give them ammo? Americans know you and what you have done. It is your job to convince them you are the man for the job. Lobbing bombs won’t get you the support you need. You can make this change and you will if you want the nomination and another chance to restore this country.

I’m trying to hang in there and continue to support Trump, but it’s getting tougher when his ego still needs so much stroking. For people who have said both Trump and DeSantis should share the ticket, that would never happen. Both are alpha males and wouldn’t take second place. Most of my family have praised Trump, but are now saying they don’t want him to run. My biggest fear would have him win the nomination and lose the election. We cannohave that.

Trump in trouble: Republican support for

Republican support for Donald Trump's presidential bid in 2024 has cratered, an exclusive USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll finds, as the former president is beleaguered by midterm losses and courtroom setbacks. By 2-1, GOP and GOP-leaning voters now say they want Trump's policies but a different standard-bearer to carry them. While 31% want the former president to run, 61% prefer some other Republican nominee who would continue the policies Trump has pursued. They have a name in mind: Two-thirds of Republicans and those inclined to vote Republican want Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to run for president. By double digits, 56% to 33%, they prefer DeSantis over Trump.

Republicans have the potential for a surprisingly big victory come this November's midterm elections. Ignore the media’s efforts to get you to focus on 2024 presidential politics and the unending effort to smear President Donald Trump. Your job is to stay focused on the issues that matter in the lives of everyday people. The cost-of-living crisis, especially the skyrocketing cost of food, comes first.

He’s gone on what we would call an angry tweetstorm, if he was still on Twitter, pumping out three dozen postings and repostings on his far smaller Truth Social app. Then Trump drops the hammer: "REMEDY: Declare the rightful winner, or, and this would be the minimal solution, declare the 2020 Election irreparably compromised and have a new Election, immediately!"

Ron DeSantis (R) on Thursday announced a program to help U.S. veterans to become teachers in the Sunshine State, explaining that it is fitting to have those “who took an oath and put his or her life on the line to preserve, protect, and defend our flag and the freedom it represents” to teach the next generation. “We begin the new school year. Florida’s leading the way by bringing some of the best, the brightest, and the bravest among us into our classrooms through a new program that helps military veterans become teachers,” DeSantis announced.

Pennsylvania Democrat U.S. Senate nominee John Fetterman’s “blue collar” image is being called into question after reports revealed he lived off of his parents’ money well into his mid-40s. Although Fetterman runs ads that purport him to be a “blue collar tough guy,” his parents reportedly financially supported him while he served as mayor of Braddock, Pennsylvania, for 13 years. Fetterman, who has acknowledged his “cushy” suburban childhood, has openly admitted to the financial contributions his parents gave him as an adult.
