You know, if the former president had any self-knowledge or even the slightest ability to be self-deprecating, he might consider giving himself this alliterative nickname. After three straight national tallies in which either he or his party or both were hammered by the national electorate, it’s time for even his stans to accept the truth: Toxic Trump is the political equivalent of a can of Raid. As cold and flu season gets going, and COVID infections have begun to surge around the world, the COVID fascists are gearing up to impose new mask mandates.
Canada–because of course Canada–is already seeing mandates reappear. Premiers in more conservative Canadian provinces are not giving in to the pressure, at least not yet, but the mandates are popping up and the debate is raging. The same vicious tactics are being used by the COVIDidiots, but with a twist. The RSV pandemic–caused by immunological deficits in children that accumulated during the isolation COVID policies created–is now being used as an additional excuse to keep kids unexposed to germs.

We started the day with the GOP on the cusp of controlling the House and we’re ending the day with the GOP on the cusp of controlling the House. Still there has been some movement. The big news is that moments ago the Associated Press called two races in Arizona for the GOP. David Schweikert wins in AZ-1: And in AZ-6, Juan Ciscomani wins. That brings the GOP tally to 214 seats. The AP also called Oregon’s 6th district for Democrat Andrea Salinas which brings the Dems tally to 205 seats. That leaves 16 races uncalled.

In the first school board election since the Loudoun County School Board made national news regarding critical race theory and its attempted rape cover-up, conservative candidate Tiffany Polifko unseated the liberal incumbent.
Polifko became the projected winner against incumbent Andrew Hoyler on Monday evening after outstanding ballots were counted.
Last week, Polifko also led Democrat Nick Gothard by 135 votes — who came in second and has conceded — in a tight three-way race.
Polfiko ran on a pro-parent platform, while Gothard was supportive of many of the school board’s recent controversial measures that cut parents out of the process.

CNBC reports that according to internal communications from full-time Twitter employees sent to outlet, more than 4,000 contract workers had their jobs terminated this weekend after losing access to Slack and other work systems. Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo — most well-known for going against the medical establishment when it comes to mask mandates, coronavirus vaccine mandates, and transgender surgeries and therapies — will return for Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) second term in office, the governor announced Monday.

Following the dismal midterm showing, there’s a lot of blame to go around. While I can and will sum up the issue, I want to focus more narrowly on the way in which the entire Republican machine is turning from Trump, who is now anathema, to Ron DeSantis, who is the new god. Considering that we still have a long time before the primaries and then the 2024 election, this kind of decision-making is premature and dangerous—and that’s why we’re being forced into it.

The day is coming–rather soon, I think–when the current mania for drugging adolescents and carving up their bodies will be viewed with horror as one of the great crimes of our century. The costs of the “trans” fad have already become evident, to the point where the New York Times wants to position itself somewhere in the middle.
The Times story is headlined: “They Paused Puberty, but Is There a Cost?” Good question! The subhed: “Puberty blockers can ease transgender youths’ anguish and buy time to weigh options. But concerns are growing about long-term physical effects and other consequences.”
