Here’s how Donald Trump sabotaged the
Republican midterms

Hey, Lyin’ Ted and Sleepy Joe: Meet Toxic Trump. You know, if the former president had any self-knowledge or even the slightest ability to be self-deprecating, he might consider giving himself this alliterative nickname. After three straight national tallies in which either he or his party or both were hammered by the national electorate, it’s time for even his stans to accept the truth: Toxic Trump is the political equivalent of a can of Raid. What Tuesday night’s results suggest is that Trump is perhaps the most profound vote repellant in modern American history. The surest way to lose in these midterms was to be a politician

the politicians who put distance between themselves and Trump are the ones who lost. That would be O'Dea, Bolduc, and Oz. Bolduc and Oz accepted his help at the very end, but that was after they (a) were pro-Trump in the primaries, then (b) put him to one side when it was time for the general - and on not doing very well, then (c) they asked for his help. It was opportunism and I think they got judged for it.

"Let Reagan be Reagan" worked for the Gipper in 1984. A lot of us were there, saw it and believed it. It won't work for Trump. What we're seeing now is very different than the "mean tweets" mantra that we bought for a while. It's much worse.

John Podhoretz, who calls himself a conservative, is very pleased that the Republicans didn’t produce a red wave. He is indecent in his recitation of Trump’s sins. Podhoretz is immune from the ills the Democrats have wrought and has not improved this country one iota. Compared to Trump he is absolutely nothing. Still, Trump had a very bad election night and I’m afraid his response to his failures in the Senate especially has not been elevating. As of today DeSantis is the man of the hour and if he is as successful in his next term as he was in his first he may very well eclipse Trump. I’m not sure what Trump can do to recover. This midterm is a huge disappointment and Trump was right in the middle of it.

Well for one thing Trump endorsed DeSantis. For another it's really hard to compete in a blue or purple state when McConnell starves you of $. Please note Bolducs surge in NH came *after* McConnell shut off the spicket. I don't wanna hear a peep from a party or a press who let candidates be outspent a billion to one and still can't, even now, fend off voting machine "breakdowns" in Maricopa county in real time

John Podhoretz is spewing venom with the hope that we are too stupid to understand what just happened. The fool blames President Trump not because he has good reason but because he hates him. Clearly, Trump backed many winners. His endorsement record is darn good, 174 to 9. Had the Trump supporters stayed home, what would have happened, John? The author and many others believe they can hang any loss on President Trump while McConnell was withholding funds from candidates he did not like, Blake Masters for one. It looks like Masters just may win despite the questionable election process in Arizona. Where was McConnell when it was obvious that some states had real issues with the securing the vote. He could have urged the senators of those states to put pressure on their state legislatures to fix the problems. McConnell could have spent money on conservative candidates but instead sent millions to Murkowski who is a traitor more often than not and votes with the democrats far too often. By the way, why doesn’t John Podhoretz delve into the corruption that is rampant with far too many public servants, democrats and republicans? There is a furtile field to be plowed on that subject. Old China Mitch would be a good place to start. What about Biden? Politicians have been gaming the system for decades, with very little curiosity by the media. Yet, the author saves his venomous attacks for the guy who donated his salary, presided over a booming economy, secured the border more than it had ever been, created a robust military that was both feared and respected, and enabled more Americans to find a job and live the American dream. Not too bad for a non-politician. JP is filled with hate, jealousy, and contempt for the most successful President in modern history and yet he hates the guy which tells me it is personal. Something is very off with these writers who engage in these hit pieces but ignore the imbecile in the White House who has done nothing but destroy every aspect of the country. Where is his hatred for that? Another day, another hit piece by a Never-Trumper.

Up yours, John. The GOP misread the polls, threw their money at the wrong candidates in many cases and thought that a lukewarm message was going to change the minds of voters who have been bribed by the Biden administration to stay at home, do no work and depend on the government. Donald Trump is the easy excuse they need for their failure.

Podhoretz hits the nail on the head. Democrats did all they could to ensure their primary opponents were Trump supporters and their strategy paid off handsomely, with few exceptions. It destroyed us in Pennsylvania. Their reason was simple: Trump motivates Democrats to vote more than Republicans. It's very revealing that Trump's comments after the election have less to do with Biden than with perceived disloyalties against him. Also, to those who responded to ads featuring Trump's picture next to a congressional candidate, know that most of that money went to Trump. He pocketed 100 million dollars, of which very little went to the candidates.

This is a careless diagnosis. Bolduc, for example, won the primary as a Trump supporter, and then within two weeks turned on a dime and mocked Trump's views. Then he went down. Trump eventually came to his aid anyway with an endorsement. Bolduc was a turncoat and it was written about in the NH papers before the general election, how he had swung around the instant he had the primary. He was a notorious turncoat by election day and had nothing going for him but the bare R, not a pro-Trump brand. Not. Very much Not.

Many would not want to admit it, but TRUMP brings people in and repels others, even among Republicans. The hate for him has shown itself to be valuable and useful to demonrat socialist Marxists. Our invective should be focused on the RINO elites who sell U.S. out just be being members of Congress. Those low-T RINOs need to be put out to pasture. A good question to figure out is how the bottom fell out after the polling was showing greater possibilities for Republicans being elected, even though slim. We all knew the margins were going to be close, so turnout and early voting may have been the determining factor as well as news outlets promoting the false idea of election with a 'red wave' narrative keeping voters at home.

As cold and flu season gets going, and COVID infections have begun to surge around the world, the COVID fascists are gearing up to impose new mask mandates. Canada–because of course Canada–is already seeing mandates reappear. Premiers in more conservative Canadian provinces are not giving in to the pressure, at least not yet, but the mandates are popping up and the debate is raging. The same vicious tactics are being used by the COVIDidiots, but with a twist. The RSV pandemic–caused by immunological deficits in children that accumulated during the isolation COVID policies created–is now being used as an additional excuse to keep kids unexposed to germs.

Former President Donald Trump will announce his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday, and many Republicans are wincing. They point to his re-emergence and cringy attacks on successful and popular Republicans just before the midterms as the reason for the failure of the red wave to materialize. While I doubt Trump was to blame — the fix was already in, in the form of an overwhelming number of mail-in ballots that had been cast way before — that’s neither here nor there for the purposes of this article. And obviously, there’s no point in talking about winning future elections until we have a plan for neutralizing Democrats’ weaponization

We started the day with the GOP on the cusp of controlling the House and we’re ending the day with the GOP on the cusp of controlling the House. Still there has been some movement. The big news is that moments ago the Associated Press called two races in Arizona for the GOP. David Schweikert wins in AZ-1: And in AZ-6, Juan Ciscomani wins. That brings the GOP tally to 214 seats. The AP also called Oregon’s 6th district for Democrat Andrea Salinas which brings the Dems tally to 205 seats. That leaves 16 races uncalled. The GOP only needs four more seats to clinch the win
