Twitter is notifying its employees over email if they've been laid off. With differing emails going to now-former workers depending on their location.
Twitter employees affected by mass layoffs under new owner Elon Musk started to realize they'd lost their jobs late Thursday night, as Insider first reported. While they were told by the company earlier in the day they could expect a "workforce reduction" to begin on Friday morning — after Insider reported on such plans — the cuts began suddenly as employees were cut off from access to work tools like email and Slack.
It was not until Friday morning that the employees received promised communication

Receiving full compensation and benefits through February 02, 2023 is not 'limbo.' They can always find another job (during a probable recession,) with the job search and acceptance subject to the contractual obligations set out in the Employment Playbook and Code Of Conduct. Violation (such as double dipping) may result in immediate termination.

Let's see, most of these employees said nothing as twitter censored only one side, most of these employees probably voted for PedoJoe. So I'll say what I usually say in this situation.
Gee, that's a shame.

I don't like to hear about people losing their jobs. We've been there.
Twitter employess can go anywhere. It also appears that most of them are young. Too bad the thousands of oil workers and the business and towns they supported couldn't sue Biden for shutting them down of day one of his administration. Where can they go?

Elon should give them a nice Christmas, Eid, or Kwanza bonus: a sock with a lump of coal.

I suspect that a lot of Twitter employees, after working from home for two years in their PJs, thought they were special and their industry was immune from the consequences of a bad economy. Suddenly, they find that they're no better than say the pipefitters thrown out of work when Bidet cancelled the Keystone Pipeline. With so many tech companies either freezing employment or laying off employees, finding another cushy gig might prove challenging. They might even have to go back to work in (gasp!) an office.

Sounds like a wonderful time. These twits have been such a big part of the WEF disinformation campaign, it is wonderful to see it being disassembled.
Free speech is coming back, and the lefitst thugs and the globalist totalitarians are going to be the hardest hit.
Great news.

Wow Corporate coldness and a healthy dose of adulthood all at once! Welcome to the real world. The real working world is not full of wine taps, popcorn machines, meditation rooms and fuze ball tournaments along with constantly making you feel special and worrying about your feelings. You are replaceable. Yes a harsh reality. Next job maybe you will think twice about slanted censorship and using your work place as your own person political pulpit! Your views and arrogance caused a decline of a company to the point you lost jobs. You only have yourself to blame

Thank you #5, for some well needed perspective. Tens of thousands of job were lost on day one of Joe Biden’s order to close the XL Pipeline. What about those families?

Anyone can open an unemployment claim- however! You must report money earned, any money received the week you are certifying-
The money received impacts eligibility of weekly benefit amount-
Failure to report earnings causes remuneration issues-
If I were them- I would establish an unemployment claim- but waive all the weeks until the payment from twit ceases- then start claiming weeks. Because it will prevent late filing- if last day work was November- and you don’t file until February.
But, this advice is a just suggestion.
The Twit folks are being compensated nicely- considering most of them helped suppress algorithms-

What work would a Twitter worker work at if a Twitter worker actually worked?

They basically have to stay away and keep their mouth shut while being paid.
I suspect many of them will not be able to manage that.

Having been on the end of a termination notice twice. What exactly do these people expect from a notice? All I ever got was a verbal notice delivered to me after the word went out that x number of people were being let go, and in the other case, a short notice in my last paycheck that stated due to financial issues, you are being terminated. In one case, I was given a notice by my boss two weeks before my termination. So, I was expecting to be let go. At least he told me to use him as a reference.

With thousands of employees being shown the door and deservedly so, what did they expect, a personal visit from Elon to tell each individual what a putz he has been for going along with a biased, propaganda-driven democrat information machine? Twitter is the type of company that real IT workers avoid.

#15, having witnessed the conduct of IT employees at big, profitable companies such as Big Pharma and Big Insurance, their typical workday begins at 9 am, involves a couple of lattes and breaks in the coffee room, long lunches, discussions of the local sports team and a dash or the door at 5 pm sharp, while complaining about the Indian and Chinese suck-ups who didn't mind working a little overtime to complete a project on time.
The only time I have ever been fired was when I called my boss a crude word for Gluteus Maximus and smiled the whole way out the door, so my expectations were well met.
